Production of vinyl chloride (VC) is one of the largest world production of volume organic chemical intermediates, consumption of which, according to estimates from 2015 to 2020 will grow. Currently, the VC production involving more than 2 million people, the risk of formation of occupational and industrial-caused diseases might be significant. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the status of the immune reactivity of the organism of workers of different professional and experienced groups in the modern VC production to justify informative immunological criteria of the occupational health risk. There were performed the laboratory and immunological study of 77 men working in the VC production. The paper considers the regularities of formation of compensatory-adaptive immune responses in working in the VC production depending on the intensity and duration of exposure to adverse production factors. There is a more pronounced imbalance in the immune system workers of the main occupations (operatives, technicians) with long (10 or more years) experience. It characterized by a decrease in IL-2, IL-4, IgM and increased the production of IL-8, INF-α, TNF-α. The engineering staff experiencing less stress by toxicants, showed the compensatorily increased production of IL-1β and decrease of IgA and also unidirectional, but less pronounced changes in the content of IL-8, INF-γ. There is the relationship between the development of disorders in the immune system of workers in various occupational groups and the level of occupational risk for these specialties. Substantiated informative immunological parameters for the early detection of functional disorders of immune regulation underlying the formation of various diseases are necessary for the timely implementation of effective prevention programmes. Thus, the state of the immune reactivity of the body reflects the level of the adaptation potential of employees of various professions and experienced groups and may be an integrated assessment of the risk of violations of occupational health. The implementation of methods of immunodiagnostics will as predict and identify the disease at the early stages of its development that can optimize the resistance of the organism involved in the VC production as reducing the incidence.

The material for the study were Lubin carp of one year old spontaneously invaded by the ectoparasites Lernaea cyprinacea and Dactylogyrus vastator. For the experiment we used drugs: "Brovermectin-granulate" (development of “BFP” serial production; 1 g of the preparation contains: active substance (ADR) ivermectin – 3.5 mg; tocopherol acetate (20 mg) and Emamectin benzoate (manufactured by King Quenson Industry Group; 1 g of preparation contains ADR emamectin benzoate (50 mg). Analyzing morphological, biochemical and immunological parameters of blood and organs of fish, it is possible to state that the fact that the anti-parasitic drugs “Brovermectin granulate” and “Emamectin benzoate” has a pronounced antiparasitic effect, normalizing the homeostasis of the body. The results obtained showed significant fluctuations in the number neutrophils, eosinophils and lymphocytes. In ectoparasites infested of fishes used for macrocyclic lactones, y leukocyte formula sharply increases the percentage of rod-shaped neutrophils and at the same time decreases the proportion of lymphocytes. At the same time, there is an increase in the number of eosinophils that perform the function of protecting the body of fish from parasites. Eosinophilia, as in the higher vertebrates, is one of objective indicators of allergy (sensitization) of the body, nature the course of inflammatory processes. The results obtained indicate a decrease in the production of total T-lymphocytes are cells that play a key role in the immune system protection in the body of carp for damage by ectoparasites. In analyzing the above data, attention is drawn to the lower functional the activity of the blood T-lymphocyte system in ectoparasites infested with fish, than those given antiparasitic drugs. From this it follows that the ability of the blood lymphocytes of the fish to which the drugs from the group were given of macrocyclic lactones, before pathogen binding and production of antigens the antibodies that neutralize them are much higher than the fish affected ectoparasites. The immune system in fish provides self-regulation through direct contact of cells (macrophages, neutrophils, cytotoxic T-lymphocytes) as well as due to humoral factors (lysozyme, complement). The use of drugs from the group of macrocyclic lactones promotes the release of infested fish from ectoparasites with the following normalization of their life, increase of immune status and resistance.

The purpose of this study is to generalize the results of a complex clinical-laboratory, radiological and immunological study of patients with spinal tuberculosis. A comprehensive examination analysis was carried out in 192 patients with tuberculous spondy litis who were in the department of surgery for osteoarticular tuberculosis of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Tuberculosis and Pulmonology in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Severe degrees of spinal disorders were found in 48.7% of patients. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and multi-slice spiral computed tomography (MSCT) allow establishing the stage and activity of a specific process in the spine, as well as complications. Spinal column instability was detected in 143 (74.5%) patients, paravertebral abscesses in 116 (60.4%) patients, and epidural abscesses in 75 (39.0%) patients. Changes in immunological parameters in patients with spinal tuberculosis were associated both with impaired regulation of immunogenetic and with the direct influence of the immune system at various stages of the process. The detection of certain patterns of immune system disorders in patients with tuberculous lesions of the spine allowed us to make a differentiated approach to their treatment in order to increase the effectiveness of the treatment. It can be concluded that at present, tuberculosis of bones and joints, especially the spine, is detected in an advanced stage in 50-80% of cases and has a widespread and complicated character with profound anatomical and functional changes and the presence of severe spinal disorders in 48.7% patients in Uzbekistan. Regarding spondylitis, it is immensely important to make an accurate diagnosis based on the clinical presentations, laboratory, radiological and immunological findings and by periodic assessment of the response to treatment, which is essential in atypical cases.

Cows, young cattle and calves of black-and-bark breeds, spontaneously affected by the causative agent Cryptosporidium parvum, were selected for the research. Blood for research was taken from calves in the morning before feeding from the jugular vein. Biochemical parameters of blood serum were determined using a biochemical analyzer of the closed type. Changes in the activity of serum enzymes in the initial stages of the disease are not specific, they indicate a compensatory reaction of liver cells and biliary tract. Effect of Cryptosporidium in calves body accompanied by severe disorders that affect the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates and enzymes. These changes lead to structural changes in the organs at the cellular level. Serum infested animals significantly reduced total protein content of 25.5% (P < 0.001), albumin – by 14.6% (P < 0.01), the concentration of glucose in – 21.2% (P < 0.01), carotene content – 12.6% (P < 0.05), the level of calcium and phosphorus – 17.5 and 18% (P < 0.05), respectively, and increased total bilirubin content by 23% (P < 0.001), indicating significant violations of the protein synthesis and detoxification processes in the liver and the tension in the metabolism of their body. Reduced glucose concentration in blood serum is due to the fact that in the body of sick animals there have been increased costs for maintaining the energy needs of its own organism. In conducting studies for 35 days in animals in the experimental group noted an increase in the concentration of circulating immune complexes by 10.5% relative to control. Increasing the concentration of circulating immune complexes in serum of calves, patients with cryptosporidiosis, indicates the presence of specific interaction antigen-antibody and decrease the activity of the humoral link of the immune system. In the determination of immunosuppressive proteins – serum cords in serum of calves, it was found that at 7, 14 days their concentration was within the physiological limits. Increasing the concentration of circulating immune complexes in serum of calves, patients with cryptosporidiosis, indicates the presence of specific interaction antigen-antibody and decrease the activity of the humoral link of the immune system.

Studying mechanisms, which maintain the body homeostasis, is particularly important in the conditions of continuous impact of adverse environmental and manufacturing factors. Long-term exposure to fluorides leads to chronic fluoric intoxication, the pathogenesis of which is a subject of multiple controversy and discussions. Not enough attention is still paid to elucidating the visceral pathology associated with fluorine-induced immune disorders. There are virtually no studies of immune reactions that define the morphofunctional nature of the liver response to early stages of fluoric intoxication. Aim. To study pathophysiological mechanisms of hepatic immune reactivity in subchronic exposure of the body to fluorine compounds. Methods. Experiments were performed on 210 male rats weighing 180-220 g. The animals were divided into two groups: 1) control (n=80) and 2) subchronic exposure to sodium fluoride (n=130). The rats had free access to a 10 mg/l aqueous solution of sodium fluoride (daily dose, 1.2 mg/kg body weight) for 12 weeks. Blood was withdrawn from the caudal vein at 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 weeks of the experiment for immunological and biochemical tests. Histological study of the liver was performed after decapitation of rats under ether anesthesia. Results. The subchronic exposure to sodium fluoride was associated with intracellular and intravascular damage of the liver. Activation of inflammatory mediators and development of immunological disorders during the experiment contributed to a systemic inflammatory reaction, which resulted in persistent morphological injuries of the liver and changes in enzyme activities in major metabolic pathways. Conclusion. The study results can be used for development and implementation of preventive measures against the effects of high fluorine concentrations, which would include a successive use of detoxification, immunomodulation and organ protection.

It is the most unreliable truth that anybody can get infected by the COVID-19, and nobody can escape from the danger of getting tainted by the virus. Yet, the line of hope is that anyone and everyone can boost their resistance, thus avoid the risk of getting affected by the illness. The immunity of humans pulls down as they grow older. If their immune system is robust, them falling sick is feeble. If their resistance is weak, them getting ill is sound. Several factors affect the immune system and its ability, including its nourishment. A two-way connection between nutrition, infection and immunity presents. Changes in one part will affect the others part in our body that's the nature's rule. Well defined immune system quality which is present between each life phase may influence the type, generality and the degree of infections. At the same time, low nutrition to the body will decrease the immune function and expose the body to the danger of getting infected by infectious diseases. Different quantity of micronutrients is required for increasing the immunity power of our body. Generally the vitamins A,C,D,E,B2,B6,B12, iron, zinc and selenium. The deficiencies of micronutrients are acknowledged as a global health issue, and also low nutrition makes it prone to establishes the infections in the body.

: Fluoro-edenite (FE) is an asbestos-like amphibole present in the bentonitic lavas extracted from a stone quarry in Biancavilla, a village sited in the Etnean Volcanic Area (Italy). : Thoracic pathologies are the results of excessive inflammatory processes that are the early response of the immune system to inhaled fibers. As demonstrated for asbestos, fibers may trigger immune system cells in an acute and/or chronic manner. This review aims to clarify the pathways of inflammation in workers exposed to FE fibers. : Based on the articles reviewed, it seems that a permanent stimulus created by repeatedly inhaling the FE fibers and their persistence in the body can act as trigger both in promoting inflammatory processes and in immunological induction of autoimmune disease.

Intestinal microbiota interacts with other systems, especially the immune system, which is responsible for protecting the body by recognizing “stranger” (pathogen associated molecular patterns-PAMPs) and “danger” (damage-associated molecular patterns-DAMPs) molecular motifs. In this manner, it plays an important role in the pathogenesis of various diseases and health. Despite the use of probiotics that modulate the intestinal microbiota in providing health benefits and in the treatment of diseases, there are some possible concerns about the possibility of developing adverse effects, especially in people with suppressed immune systems. Since probiotics provide health benefits with bioactive compounds, studies are carried out on the use of products containing non-living probiotic microorganisms (paraprobiotics) and/or their metabolites (postbiotics) instead of probiotic products. It is even reported that these microbial compounds have more immunomodulatory activities than living microorganisms via some possible mechanism and eliminates some disadvantages of probiotics. Considering the increasing use of functional foods in health and disease, further studies are needed with respect to the benefits and advantages of parabiotic and/or postbiotic use in the food and pharmaceutical industry as well as immune system modulation. Although probiotics have been extensive studied for a long time, it seems that postbiotics are promising tools for future research and applications according to the recent literature. This review aimed to evaluate the interaction of probiotics and postbiotics with the immune systems and also their advantages and disadvantages in the area of food-pharmaceutical industry and immune system modulation.

Small-scale contractors (SSCs) require management strategies in implementing occupational health and safety (OH&S) performance at projects to reduce accidents, injuries, fatalities and diseases. Management strategy success factors have been acknowledged to be of great benefit in improving in OH&S performance. Hence, the study sought to assess the management strategy success factors for the improvement of OH&S performance by SSCs in Zambia’s electricity industry. Using quantitative methods, data was collected using a survey questionnaire from 246 respondents representing firm owners, managers, project managers and OH&S representatives at electricity industry projects at 70.3% response rate. Descriptive and inferential statistics were adopted as methods of data analysis using exploratory factor analysis. After analysis, the success factors were clustered into three construct categories within OH&S performance namely, compliance and workplace processes, policy and human resource development, and leadership and structure significant values ranging from 0.513 to 0.972. The independent reliability was tested using the Cronbach Alpha coefficient. The study exposed management strategy success factors are well recognised by most SSCs and contributed to the body of knowledge in this mastery by introducing three success factors for OH&S performance. It is recommended that these factors be adopted and considered to improve OH&S performance management by SSCs in the electricity industry in Zambia.
