Results showed that cognitive abilities of the students were positively associated with academic achievement of the respondents. It was further found that cognitive abilities and academic achievement of students studying in Cambridge school system was better as compared to those studying in other systems. Post-hoc comparison revealed that level of academic achievement of Urdu medium schools was lower as compared to English medium and Cambridge system of schools. The findings suggest that difference in schooling system influenced cognitive abilities and academic achievement of the students. The study of foreign law is necessary not only to guide the processes of global economic, political and cultural integration and unification, but above all to facilitate domestic criminal law.As the criminal legislation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan relates to different legal systems, it is difficult to compare them, but it is mutually beneficial. Thus, it allows to identify gaps in the legislation of both countries and take measures to eliminate them. Key words: crime, responsibility, talion principle, revenge, additional punishment, so to speak

Encouragement of humanistic education through the lens of prosocial behavior of adolescents is a complex and extensive issue of the modern world. Prosocial behaviour can indirectly affect the achievement of pupils at school through its connection with some academically relevant forms of behaviour which lead to success at school and work. Also, this connection can be explained by the teacher’s preferences of prosocial pupils, which is reflected in the teacher’s expectations and behaviour towards pupils, as well as the evaluation of their work. Besides, prosocial behaviour can also directly affect pupils since the prosocial interaction of peers can have a positive effect on the intellectual exchanges between pupils, which contributes to a more successful learning process. Taking into consideration the significance and role of the school and teachers, as representatives of the educational process, in encouraging prosocial behaviour in the young at secondary schools, we face a problem: Do secondary school teachers encourage prosocial humanistic behaviour of the young, by what actions and activities are they guided in the process and how does that reflect on the behaviour of pupils? This study tried to give some answers related to this problem in the field of education.

Abstract The precise form of internalization of the provisions of the Council of Europe’s Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities in domestic law is crucial in ensuring its long-term effectiveness. Experiences in the Western Balkans raise important questions about the role of minority (or community) rights legislation in deeply divided societies. This article uses the case-studies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and the Republic of North Macedonia to highlight key themes and limitations that have emerged. Comparative analysis reveals a surprising divergence of approaches to internalization in the region. The article further demonstrates that the ‘nation-cum-state paradigm’ remains prevalent, despite the premise of universality. It argues that such legislation can play an important symbolic and practical role, but that legal internalization needs to be seen as an ongoing process. It concludes that attention needs to be given to ensuring the continued particularization and adaptation of such legislation in light of both the limitations and changing circumstances, providing a key lesson also for other divided societies.

The Comparison between the comic books’ superheroes and gods often appears in the scientific discourse. This phenomenon is linked to the human need for creating new idols. In their comic book titled The Wicked and the Divine, Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie are going one step further and decide to create a whole new pantheon, designed to fit our century. Creators did not design new gods, they used various pantheons and reincarnated them in new, different bodies. In this article, I will be considering the role of divinity and its place in the modern world. In order to achieve this, I will use comparative analysis between the main series of The Wicked and the Divine and two special one-shots — first set in the twenties of the twentieth century, second in the beginning of the nineteenth century — to highlight the differences in the role of gods and divinity in different period of time. The article will also concentrate on the form of the bodies that the gods gain due to the reincarnation, and the impact of this phenomenon on the place that they take in society.
