This study aims to find factors influencing students to do speeding in Yogyakarta Special Region. 179 respondents filled in on-line and off-line questionnaires to determine options or probabilities of speeding up on a variety of different road / environmental conditions. Cross tab tests and ordered logistic regression are adopted to analyze influencing factors (both internal and external). 3 of 18 predictor variables do not affect speeding behavior, and those are driving experience, road separator, and speed limit signs. While the age, education, and police presence are negatively correlated with speeding behavior, it means that the older, and the higher a person's education and the presence of police, people tend not to have speeding behavior. The other research result is the level order of the influencing factor of speeding (predictor variables). Penelitian ini bertujuan menemukan faktor – faktor yang mempengaruhi pelajar dan mahasiswa melakukan ‘speeding’ atau ngebut di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Sebanyak 179 responden mengisi kuesioner on-line maupun off-line untuk mengetahui pilihan-pilihan atau probabilitas melakukan ngebut untuk berbagai kondisi jalan/lingkungan yang berbeda. Uji cross tab dan regresi logistic ordinal digunakan untuk menganalisis factor-faktor (baik internal maupun eksternal) yang berpengaruh. Dari 18 variabel predictor, 3 diantaranya tidak berpengaruh, yaitu: pengalaman berkendara, pemisah jalan dan rambu batas kecepatan. Sementara variable usia, pendidikan dan keberadaan polisi berkorelasi negative terhadap perilaku ngebut, artinya semakin bertambah usia, dan makin tinggi pendidikan seseorang serta adanya polisi mendorong orang untuk tidak ngebut. Dihasilkan juga urutan tingkat pengaruh masing-masing factor (variable predictor)

The determination of miscible characteristic is one of the key technologies for enhancing oil recovery of gas flooding. If the miscible characteristic at each development period of gas flooding can be known in real time, it will be helpful to guide gas flooding development scheme. The minimum miscible pressure (MMP) is mostly used to describe miscible characteristic. Currently, the MMP forecasting methods can be classified into two categories—the empirical method and theoretical calculation method. In this paper, the main controlling factors affecting MMP are analyzed combined with reservoir engineering method, phase equilibrium theory, reservoir numerical simulation technology, and so on. Based on this, new empirical and theoretical MMP forecasting model was built. Meanwhile, new ideas for improving forecasting accuracy through modifying miscible criterion were proposed. The calculation accuracies of the two MMP forecasting models can be improved to over 90% that is more accurate and adapted than other methods. This research result can supply new ideas for gas flooding MMP forecasting.

Notwithstanding the historical persistence of the disproportionate representation of ethnic minority students in special education, there is a scarcity of research on factors affecting the placement of minority students in these programs. The purpose of this study was to identify placement predictors in learning disabilities (LD) programs for Latino, African-American, and Anglo students. We used 12 predictor variables from two key domains (student and family) and used placement data from a national database of eighth-grade students. We found that although some factors predicted placement in LD programs for all ethnic groups, placement predictors also varied by student ethnicity. Based on these findings, we provide implications for research and practice from a sociocultural perspective.

Objectives: The relationship between finance and economic growth has always been one of the hot issues in theoretical research and empirical analysis. As one of the important factors affecting economic growth, finance has long been recognized by the majority of scholars. Methods: In the context of the development of Internet e-commerce, empirical research on the relationship between China’s financial development and economic growth is conducted based on the maximum traffic algorithm. Results: Based on this, this paper constructs the Probit and Logistic binary discrete selection model for economic growth, and the discrete particle swarm algorithm is used to solve the sequence of influencing factors, estimating the model parameters, and the degree of influence of each influencing factor is calculated. Conclusion: The degree of concurrent employment is a decisive factor in economic growth.

The human egocentric perception of approaching objects and the related perceptual processes have been of interest to researchers for several decades. This article gives a literature review on numerous studies that investigated the phenomenon when an object approaches an observer (or the other way around) with the goal to single out factors that influence the perceptual process. A taxonomy of metrics is followed by a breakdown of different experimental measurement methods. Thereinafter, potential factors affecting the judgment of approaching objects are compiled and debated while divided into human factors (e.g., gender, age, and driving experience), compositional factors (e.g., approaching velocity, spatial distance, and observation time), and technical factors (e.g., field of view, stereoscopy, and display contrast). Experimental findings are collated, juxtaposed, and critically discussed. With virtual-reality devices having taken a tremendous developmental leap forward in the past few years, they have been able to gain ground in experimental research. Therefore, special attention in this article is also given to the perception of approaching objects in virtual environments and put in contrast to the perception in reality.

Based on the basic theory and methods of disaggregate choice model, the influencing factors in travel mode choice for migrant workers are analyzed, according to 1366 data samples of Xi’an migrant workers. Walking, bus, subway, and taxi are taken as the alternative parts of travel modes for migrant workers, and a multinomial logit (MNL) model of travel mode for migrant workers is set up. The validity of the model is verified by the hit rate, and the hit rates of four travel modes are all greater than 80%. Finally, the influence of different factors affecting the choice of travel mode is analyzed in detail, and the inelasticity of each factor is analyzed with the elasticity theory. Influencing factors such as age, education level, and monthly gross income have significant impact on travel choice mode for migrant workers. The elasticity values of education degree are greater than 1, indicating that it on the travel mode choice is of elasticity, while the elasticity values of gender, industry distribution, and travel purpose are less than 1, indicating that these factors on travel mode choice are of inelasticity.

For condensing turbine, steam exhaust point is in wet steam area. The exhaust steam humidity of steam turbine is difficult to get due to lacking of effective measuring method. Calculation of exhaust steam humidity has always been one of the key parts of the analysis of thermal power units. The main factors affecting exhaust steam humidity are turbine load and turbine exhaust pressure etc, and they are of non-linearity. This paper develops a calculation method to calculate exhaust steam humidity based on BP neural network. Taking a N1000-25/600/600 ultra-supercritical (USC) steam turbine as an example, the exhaust steam humidity is calculated and the results show that the method has a good accuracy to meet the needs of the engineering application.

Road accidents have a relevant impact in terms of economic and social costs. As a consequence, many research studies have focused on identifying the key factors affecting accident severity. Traditionally, these factors can be included in the infrastructural, human and vehicle groups. Among these, human factors have a relevant impact on accident severity, which depends on driving experience, driver’s socio-economic characteristics, and driving behaviour, but also on the driver’s psychological state while driving. In this paper we investigate on the relationships between driving behaviour usually taken by the driver and his/her perceived psychological state while driving. In order to achieve this goal we adopt an Ordered Probit (OP) model formulation calibrated on the basis of experimental data collected by a sample survey. We demonstrate that the adopted methodology accounts for the differential impacts of certain human factors on driver’s psychological state.
