Abstractthe whole world has been made aware of the importance of sustaining human life on this earth. The economic improvement felt in the last decade is the result of increasing industrialization around the world. This has a fairly serious impact in terms of natural damage and social life. Fundamental changes are urgently needed to break the chain of socio-environmental damage that threatens the survival of future generations. These fundamental changes can be started from changes in the concept of education. Education is still considered the key to development both in terms of human resources and innovation. Applied education can be a door in the teaching of new abilities and skills based on the SDGs. This study aims to describe the role of applied or vocational education in achieving SGDs. The Faculty of Vocational Studies at Universitas Airlangga can be an example of how applied higher education institutions have the potential to achieve the SDGs goals. Based on the results of our study, it appears that the role of applied educational institutions has the potential to achieve the SDGs targets. The results of this study have a significant impact on future policy directions and institutional development. Keywords: SDGs, higher education institution, sustainable development, thematic analysis.

Islamic Boarding school is an islamic education institution which has an identical tradition in indonesian muslim societuy. This institution has emerged long before the colonialism era in Indonesia. In its long history since years to pursue the concept of modernism, islamic boarding school, sometimes ,has also been perceived negatively because of transnasionalism ideology which is adopted in recent years. In that case, this paper aimed to describe the existence of islamic boarding school in indonesian social life. By argumenting and comparing some previous studies in this case to gain an accurate result. Moreover, this paper is intended to answer some western perception about islamic boarding school in Indonesia, and finally emphasize the role of islamic boarding school as a government partner and its function in creating democracy.  Keyword: Islamic Boarding School, Tradition, Modernization.

As offshore field developments move into deeper water, one of the greatest challenges is in designing riser systems capable of overcoming the added risks of more severe environments, complicated well requirements and uncertainty of operating conditions. The failure of a primary riser component could lead to unacceptable consequences, including environmental damage, lost production and possible injury or loss of human life. Identification of the risks facing riser systems and management of these risks are essential to ensure that riser systems operate without failure. Operators have recognized the importance of installing instrumentation such as global positioning systems (GPS), vessel motion measurement packages, wind and wave sensors and Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) units to monitor vessel motions and environmental conditions. Additionally, high precision monitoring equipment has been developed for capturing riser response. Measured data from these instruments allow an operator to determine when the limits of acceptable response, predicted by analysis or determined by physical limitations of the riser components, have been exceeded. Regular processing of measured data through automated routines ensures that integrity can be quickly assessed. This is particularly important following extreme events, such as a hurricane or loop current. High and medium alert levels are set for each parameter, based on design analysis and operating data. Measured data is compared with these alert levels, and when an alert level is reached, further response evaluation or inspection of the components in question is recommended. This paper will describe the role of offshore monitoring in an integrity management program and discuss the development of alert levels based on potential failure modes of the riser systems. The paper will further demonstrate how this process is key for an effective integrity management program for deepwater riser systems.

This paper reports on an investigation into the value of the contribution of the higher education institution (HEI) context in developing graduates' enterprise skills. The study was an exploration of where graduates develop enterprise skills, examining the impact of the higher education and employment contexts on the development of these skills. The paper draws on a qualitative study in which interviews were conducted with pharmacy academics and employers. The results show that an ability to demonstrate skills in one context does not necessarily indicate an ability to demonstrate them in another, because the development and demonstration of enterprise skills are influenced by the contexts in which they are developed and demonstrated. The study adds value by highlighting the significant role of both the HE and employment contexts in developing enterprise skills, while emphasizing that these skills become more transferable through exposure to more contexts.

<p><em>This research is motivated by a "unique" phenomenon from of the role of the profession internal auditors. For </em><em>Internal </em><em>auditors </em><em>of  Internal Control Unit </em><em>(SPI) in</em><em> a non-profit organization, especially in an</em><em> </em><em>Higher Education Institution</em><em>, the uniqueness has the potential to place it in a situation of independence dilemma. The purpose of this study is to understand the reality of the independence dilemma faced by SPI auditors as a result of the conditions and work environment. In order to explore the auditor's understanding of SPI, phenomenology is employed as methodology, under interpretive paradigm as the umbrella of this research. Exploration of understanding and awareness is done using Epoche. The results of the study revealed that the SPI auditor faced a situation of independence in various forms: (1) the negative auditing stigma in the form of the awarding of "kambing hitam" to SPI raises a dilemma for auditors and disturbs the working spirit of the SPI auditor, on the other hand if implemented improperly will be contrary to the obligation and further aggravate the negative stigma already attached; (2) there is a phenomenon of impropriety (abuse) on audit guidelines that has not been fully implemented and not evaluated to provide ethical consideration in the future; (3) the existence of obedience pressure in the form of "suspension" the rector signs the SPI examination report</em><em>.</em><em> </em><em>d</em><em>ue to the term audit conception that has not been agreed upon. </em></p>

Mythology is the form of consciousness of the primitive and early class society, which reproduces the views of a human on cosmos, God, and society. The object of this research is Erzya and Moksha myths on matrimonial relations. The subject of this research is the specificity of the worldview of Erzya and Moksha myths founded on the matrimonial relations. Detailed analysis is conducted on the specificity of reflection of philosophical and sociological motifs in the Erzya and Moksha matrimonial myths that emerged in the context of formation of the patriarchal family based on the social, moral and legal norms of existence. The author also explores the uniqueness of matrimonial relations with deities and people. Which gives a conceptual perspective on the type and character of the ethnic family, and the role of family in human life. The conclusion is made that stating a family by deities and people is a continuation of creation of the world in the sphere of family and social life. The author&rsquo;s special contribution to this research consists in the proof that the presence of the indicated aspect in the myth is the reflection of the naive idealistic ideas and spontaneous materialistic views; substantiation of the high humanistic status of a woman in family life; designation of the heroic traits given to a woman by birth as fundamental; comprehension of matrimonial relations between deities and people through the prism of co-creation. This article is first to analyze the peculiarities of the worldview of matrimonial myths and introducing it into the scientific context, which defines its novelty.

The world is witnessing dramatic changes in the digital age, marking the advancement and rise of digital technologies that enable more efficient processing, transmission, storage and review of information. As digital technology is increasingly affecting all aspects of social life, innovation is considered the key to making competitiveness and sustainble development of individuals, organizations and the whole society. Innovation is the process of creating new values by applying new solutions to existing problems. And innovation culture is an enviroment that nurtures, promotes and realizes innovation. This shows that the formation of an individual’s innovation culture is essential to be able to build an innovation culture of the organization and even of society. Higher education is also not out of this trend. Therefore, it is necessary to study the innovation culture in the field of higher education, first, the university lecturer’s innovation culture. The article aims to clarify some issues related to innovation culture. On that basis, the content of the concept of university lecturer’s innovation culture will be analyzed, simultaneously, the impacts of the digital age on higher education in general and university lecturer in particular will be mentioned to highlight the role of university lecturer’s innovation culture in the new context of society.

Purpose This paper aims to compose a systematic understanding of campus sustainability innovations and unpack the complex drivers behind the elaboration of specific innovations. More precisely, the authors ask two fundamental questions: What are the topics and modes of implementation of campus sustainability innovations? What are the external and internal factors that drive the development of specific innovations? Design/methodology/approach The authors code and analyze 454 innovations reported within the Sustainability Tracking Assessment and Rating System (STARS), the campus sustainability assessment tool of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. Using descriptive statistics and illustrations, the paper assesses the state of environmental innovations (EIs) within STARS. Then, to evaluate the role of internal and external drivers in shaping EIs, the authors have produced classification and regression tree models. Findings The authors’ analysis shows that external and internal factors provide incentives and a favorable context for the implementation of given EIs. External drivers such as climatic zones, local income and poverty rate drive the development of several EIs. Internal drivers beyond the role of the agent of change, often primarily emphasized by past literature, significantly impact the implementation of given EIs. The authors’ work also reveals that EIs often move beyond traditional mitigation approaches and the boundaries of campus. EIs create new dynamics of innovation that echo and reinforce the culture of a higher education institution. Originality/value This work provides the first aggregated picture of EIs in the USA and Canada. It produces a new and integrated understanding of the dynamics of campus sustainability that complexifies narratives and contextualizes the role of change agents.

The article deals with the analysis of situations of uncertainty in various spheres of modern society life that have arisen as a result of the rapid development of digital technologies; virtualization of many components of modern human life; the increasing role of visual information in communication; drastic changes in the labor market, in intellectual practices and the formation of new requirements for the education and vocational training system. We have proposed to analyze such situations using the principle of “incomplete comprehension of object”, and we carried out a consideration of its content and indicated its methodological role. To our mind, one of the most important features of this principle is the focus on a set of ambiguous, non-obvious links between the internal elements of an object, as well as during its interactions with agents of external influence in a situation of uncertainty. Besides, we examined its heuristic and predictive capabilities using examples of analysis of specific typical situations in various spheres of social life, primarily related to the labor market and education in a digital culture.
