The upgraded elastic surface algorithm (UESA) is a physical inverse design method that was recently developed for a compressor cascade with double-circular-arc blades. In this method, the blade walls are modeled as elastic Timoshenko beams that smoothly deform because of the difference between the target and current pressure distributions. Nevertheless, the UESA is completely unstable for a compressor cascade with an intense normal shock, which causes a divergence due to the high pressure difference near the shock and the displacement of shock during the geometry corrections. In this study, the UESA was stabilized for the inverse design of a compressor cascade with normal shock, with no geometrical filtration. In the new version of this method, a distribution for the elastic modulus along the Timoshenko beam was chosen to increase its stiffness near the normal shock and to control the high deformations and oscillations in this region. Furthermore, to prevent surface oscillations, nodes need to be constrained to move perpendicularly to the chord line. With these modifications, the instability and oscillation were removed through the shape modification process. Two design cases were examined to evaluate the method for a transonic cascade with normal shock. The method was also capable of finding a physical pressure distribution that was nearest to the target one.

Young generations are those who make lives livelier and happier, who design the future and make the change, the ones with full hope and enthusiasm to go further and make the impossible possible. As every country of Europe, Asia or America, Albania as well is surrounded by a very fruitful young ladies and gentlemen's. This paper aims to analyse the changes of the youth development in Albania during the transition period. The young development in Albania has faced many problems, such as the difference between the levels of development of the youths that live in the other cities of Albania with the ones of the capital. Rural areas and small towns are closed where a portion of youth in minor are totally dependent from family, and they are exactly that with their weak hands are inclined to do the heavy work to keep their family one more day alive. Youth at the opening of the borders, generally tended to leave towards legal immigration either as tourist or in illegal opportunities addressing major countries like Britain, Greece, Italy, Belgium etc. Albania needs to make arrangements which will be financed by businessmen, private universities in cooperation with the state to offer young people opportunities to work together and to be closer to each other and to show their skills in conversation competitions. At the same time the state has other open universities in backward areas which will provide young entrepreneurs' with more opportunities for young people to graduate and to serve different areas. Meanwhile, there is needed a strategy to separate the fields in which there is a need to have more expert in the field which is required to work also which would come more to help the country's economy with the addition of experts. Albania is a country blessed where high mountains finish in seas, where groundwater resources are numerous, and with a conductive climate to produce almost all kinds of fruits and where vegetation is very diverse. If the youth will be directed towards learning of foreign languages and in recognition of their territories, traditions and customs, thus, we would make a big step because tourism market is precisely the kind of market where young people will find themselves more comfortable than ever, where the labour force will be insufficient paid and where the demand for products would be required as the number of tourists would be great and just the requirements would change in terms of application areas during the summer as it would be for beaches and seasonal fruits, while during the winter for skiing and mountain tourism.

Marshmallow belongs to a high-calorie food that requires a low-calorie substitute for sucrose, one of which is sorbitol. Marshmallow has the potential to become a functional food with the addition of inulin contained within white sweet potatoes. Inulin refers to a type of fructan carbohydrate which contains fiber and has the potential as a prebiotic that is beneficial for the human’s body. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of white sweet potato (Ipomea batatas L.) inulin extract and sorbitol on the physical, chemical and organoleptic characteristic of marshmallows and to obtain the best marshmallow’s formula through white sweet potato (Ipomea batatas L.) inulin extract and sorbitol addition. The completely randomized design method (CRD) applied in this study consisted of one factor, namely the difference in formulation between the concentration of white sweet potato inulin extract (2% and 3%) and the concentration of sorbitol (25%, 50%, and 75%). The statistical analysis utilized the One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method using SPSS. The results of this study indicated that the addition of white sweet potato inulin extract and sorbitol had a significant effect on tensile strength, density, moisture content, ash content, total calories, dietary fiber, and organoleptic characteristics of marshmallows. The best formula for marshmallows was formula 4 with the addition of 2% white sweet potato inulin extract and 50% sorbitol.

Abstract We present the results of a two year optical continuum photometric reverberation mapping campaign carried out on the nucleus of the Seyfert-1 galaxy Mrk509. Specially designed narrow-band filters were used in order to mitigate the line and pseudo-continuum contamination of the signal from the broad line region, while allowing for high-accuracy flux-calibration over a large field of view. We obtained light curves with a sub-day time sampling and typical flux uncertainties of 1%. The high photometric precision allowed us to measure inter-band continuum time delays of up to ∼2 days across the optical range. The time delays are consistent with the relation τ∝λ4/3 predicted for an optically thick and geometrically thin accretion disk model. The size of the disk is, however, a factor of 1.8 larger than predictions based on the standard thin-disk theory. We argue that, for the particular case of Mrk509, a larger black hole mass due to the unknown geometry scaling factor can reconcile the difference between the observations and theory.

This study deals with the application of optimization in Finocyl grain design with ballistic objective functions using a genetic algorithm. The classical sampling method is used for space filling; a level-set method is used for simulating the evaluation of a burning surface of the propellant grain. An algorithm is developed beside the level-set code that prepares the initial grain configuration using a computer-aided design (CAD) to export generated models to the level-set code. The lumped method is used to perform internal ballistic analysis. A meta-model is used to surrogate the level-set method in an optimization design loop. Finally, a case study is done to verify the proposed algorithm. Observed results show that the grain design method reduced the design time significantly, and this algorithm can be used in designing any grain type.

The purpose of this study was to compare the outcomes of volar plating using two different implants for distal radius fractures. Fifty-two patients with AO type C fractures were placed in either of two groups: the AO LDRS group (26 patients) or the Acu-Loc group (26 patients). Radiological parameters including radial length, radial inclination, volar tilt, and intra-articular step-off were significantly improved after surgery. The mean Mayo Wrist Performance Score was 84.6 in the AO LDRS group and 81.1 in the Acu-Loc group. The mean Subjective Wrist Value was 86.7% in the AO LDRS group and 86.3% in the Acu-Loc group. There were no significant differences between the two groups with respect to both radiological and clinical outcomes at the final follow-up evaluation. Volar fixed-angle plating for unstable distal radius fractures had satisfactory radiological and clinical outcomes. The difference of implant design did not influence overall final outcomes.

C-type lectin receptors (CLRs) on antigen-presenting cells (APCs) facilitate uptake of carbohydrate antigens for antigen presentation, modulating the immune response in infection, homeostasis, autoimmunity, allergy, and cancer. In this review, we focus on the role of the macrophage galactose type C-type lectin (MGL) in the immune response against self-antigens, pathogens, and tumor associated antigens (TAA). MGL is a CLR exclusively expressed by dendritic cells (DCs) and activated macrophages (MØs), able to recognize terminal GalNAc residues, including the sialylated and nonsialylated Tn antigens. We discuss the effects on DC function induced throughout the engagement of MGL, highlighting the importance of the antigen structure in the modulation of immune response. Indeed modifying Tn-density, the length, and steric structure of the Tn-antigens can result in generating immunogens that can efficiently bind to MGL, strongly activate DCs, mimic the effects of a danger signal, and achieve an efficient presentation in HLA classes I and II compartments.
