Online education, notes on the experience in the Mathematics Degree Course at the Federal University of Campina Grande

We live in a time of cyberculture, in the constant presence of digital network, social networks, the constant use of applications and devices of Information and Communication Technology and it is important that education is engaged in this reality. The experience in graduate education has presented researchers with different perspectives and who have been studying online education and its devices and interfaces for a long time. Online education has become, since 2020, a reality at all levels of education, and teachers at universities have also had to adapt their practice so that teaching takes place, respecting the rules of physical distance, due to the situation of pandemic that we experience. Thus, this article aims to present and analyze the results of the use of resources and interfaces in the development of the Mathematics Teaching Practice course in the Elementary School of the Mathematics Degree Course at the Teacher Training Center of the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG), Cajazeiras campus, in Paraíba. And in this way, reflect on the influence of learning developed in the Doctorate in Education by the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS) and in the Research Group on Education and Digital Cultures (ECult) in teaching practice. For the development of this work, questionnaires made to students at the beginning and at the end of the academic period were used as an evaluation, identification of the studies carried out in the preparation and of the interfaces used, as well as reports of the activities and presentation of the results of the discipline. When analyzing the use of technologies in the teaching of Mathematics Teaching Practice, what is observed is that it was necessary to adapt the actions provided for in the curriculum component's menu, but it was possible to introduce interfaces never used before in the course and develop activities in an innovative way. and with learning that will remain in the next periods, even in person and that this practice was directly influenced by the guidance and experiences in the doctorate and in the Research Group.

This article discusses the opportunities of information and communication technologies for providing pharmaceutical care in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The global COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated a reorientation of the concept of providing health care to large-scale implementation of information technologies to improve the quality of medical and pharmaceutical services for the population. It had a significant impact on pharmacy, which necessitated changes in the management of pharmaceutical care for patients. Rapid and urgent measures were taken by the pharmacists, who found themselves at the forefront. Telepharmacy has proven to be a successful solution in the fight against the virus in the conditions of physical distance. The introduction of modern information and communication technologies worldwide will create significant advantages for more efficient use of resources and management of pharmaceutical care.

The new phenomenon called sharing or collaborative consumption emerged a decade ago and is continuously growing. It creates new possibilities for society, and especially for business, is beneficial for the environment, makes more efficient use of resources, and presents a new competitive business model. The scientific literature lacks a more in-depth analysis of the factors influencing sharing activity growth; therefore, the paper’s authors attempt to fill this gap. The authors aim to identify the factors affecting the use of sharing platforms. To reach the goal, the authors developed a regression model and constructed a list of 71 variables. The study used monthly United States data from January 2017 to June 2020 from the publicly available Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED)and Google trends databases. The comparison to other indexes proves that the proposed index, representing the number of visits to sharing platforms (SEP), is a unique one. The first index allowed us to revise the sharing activity monthly. The authors identified that variables such as wage level, social network users, import level, and personal consumption are critical in affecting the number of visits to sharing platforms. The presented framework could be helpful for practitioners and policymakers analysing the stimulation of sharing or collaborative consumption. It includes indicators representing different areas, such as society, technology, and country, and allows for monthly investigations. Such activity was evident for a long time when online platforms contributed to its wider accessibility. The results help to forecast the number of visits monthly. Sharing is still an emerging area for research; thus, the authors tried to explore the phenomenon of sharing to expand the conceptual level of knowledge.

Background: (1) The COVID-19 pandemic has generated significant changes in teaching methods around the world, and the ideal of online education has become a reality. (2) Methods: A questionnaire was modified for this study in order to determine the following levels of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) skills: file creation, file management, the use of emails, the use of the internet, and online communication. In total, 360 students from the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education (FSPE), University of Novi Sad, participated in the study. (3) Results: The results show that there are differences between the estimated level of ICT skills and the ICT skills used in online education, such that students estimate their level of ICT skills as being higher than is necessary for online education (p < 0.05). There is also a correlation between the satisfaction with online education and ICT skills, showing that students with higher ICT knowledge are more satisfied with online education (p < 0.05). There is another correlation between the satisfaction with online education and the frequency of ICT use—the more ICTs are included, the more satisfied the students will be (p < 0.05). (4) Conclusions: The results of this study can serve as a recommendation for the implementation of FSPE students’ training in ICT skills, as well as an important basis for the systematic creation, improvement, and sustainability of online education in universities.

Work From Home (WFH) is a system chosen by the government in 2020 due to the spread of the Corona virus, with this system it is hoped that it can maintain social distance, namely reducing people's mobility, maintaining physical distance, and reducing crowds so that it is expected to reduce the risk of corona virus transmission. and employee safety. The WFH system has high flexibility, this is to support employee balance between work and life. The work system that changed to WFH in a short period of time made workers experience stressful conditions such as feelings of anxiety or worry for a long time, especially when they lived under the same roof with many people. In carrying out WFH, workers need a comfortable place to work to help focus on work. One of the things that play a role in creating a sense of comfort when working is the application of ergonomic rules. This study looks for any variables that can affect WFH activities and which variables most affect WFH activities. The application of ergonomics, especially macro ergonomics in WFH activities, is considered appropriate to be able to solve various problems in WFH activities. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method by conducting a study through distributing questionnaires to respondents who are doing WFH. From the results of the study, it was found that the comfort of workers in carrying out WFH activities is closely related to ergonomics in a residential house. The results of this study can be used as a reference for designing a suitable workspace for WFH activities, and as a reference for further research with a similar focus of study. Abstract Background: With a growing world population, a longer life expectancy, and more deaths due to chronic diseases, the need for palliative care is increasing. E-Health involves the use of information and communication technology to provide care, and also to transmit health information through the Internet and related technologies. E-Health can be an effective way of supporting communication between patient and healthcare providers, but it is unclear to how patients regard information and communication technology (ICT) within palliative careMethods: The aim of this study was to describe patients’ experiences of eHealth in palliative care. An integrative review with a systematic literature search of six databases: Cinahl Complete; MEDLINE with Full Text; PubMed; Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection; Nursing and Allied Health; and PsycINFO generated 12 scientific articles. The articles were evaluated, data extracted, analyzed and synthesized, according to the aim.Results: The results are presented in the main theme: E-health applications – promoting communication on patients’ and families’ terms, and three sub- themes: usability and feasibility of eHealth applications; symptom control and individualized care promoted through eHealth applications; and use of eHealth applications increased sense of security and patient safety. Patients described ease of use, usability and feasibility of eHealth applications. Equal and individualized care, security, better symptom management, participation through increased accessibility and increased patient safety were described.Conclusions: E-Health applications promoted equal, individualized care, and may be a tool to promote accessibility and patient participation in palliative care settings. Furthermore, care transparency increased with eHealth communication when patients and families received more information, and experiences were that patient safety and feelings of security also were promoted. At organizational and societal levels, eHealth may contribute to sustainable development and more efficient use of resources in palliative care.

The article analyzed the peculiarities of the interpretation of the «communication culture» in the context of scientific researches of the past and contemporary domestic researchers. An analysis was carried out to define the concept of «communication culture of a person», the approaches to the definition of this concept are singled out. The positions of scientists concerning the role of eloquence in the formation of the linguistic personality are analyzed, the language is analyzed as a «social and psychological phenomenon», historical conditions of the formation of the concept of «communication culture» are characterized, in particular, attention is focused on the formation of the linguistic personality. It was found out that studies of the ancient traditions of the formation of the language of culture make it possible to better understand modern trends in the development of the person's communication culture. Modern studies have shown that in linguistics for a long time there was no unity in the interpretation of the concepts of «language» and «communication». Problems of the formation of the culture of broadcasting have become the object of research by eminent thinkers, beginning with the period of Antiquity. The question of the formation of a culture of speech has long traditions. Note that in European linguistics, the first decades of the twentieth century. Theoretical study and approval of the concept of «culture of language» in the scientific circulation is underway. It should be noted that in connection with the introduction of information and communication technologies in all spheres of society life has increased interest in the theory and practice of eloquence. This is explained by the fact that the active use of information and communication technologies involves the search for ways of speaking influence, both on the interpersonal and on the public level. According to authoritative experts in rhetoric, L. Matsko, O. Matsko, N. Mykhailychenko, V. Poltupets, etc., there are also communicative reasons that ensure the actual and further development of the theory and practice of oratory in the XX-beginning of the XXI century.

This study aims to review the instruments of mathematics teaching practice among secondary school mathematics teachers. A total of 100 mathematics teachers were involved as respondents in this study. The data were analyzed descriptively by access to Alpha Cronbach's reliability and EFA analysis using SPSS software. The results of the analysis show that the Alpha Cronbach value is 0.934 which is more than 0.60. Results from the exploration factor analysis show four factors with Eigenvalues greater than 1.0. The KMO value (Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin) 0.867 > 0.6 indicates the items in the variable of attitude towards math are sufficient for inter-correlation. While the Bartlett Test was significant (Chi-Square 1521.621, p <0.05), an anti-image value (Measure of Sampling Adequacy, MSA) for items correlation exceeded 0.6. However, there are three items that need to be removed because the values obtained are less than 0.60, which were the items G11, G14, and G18. The value of the total variance explained by these three factors was 62.76 percent. Therefore, the overall findings indicate that the items for mathematics teaching practice instruments can measure and answer the study objectives.

The term “digitalization” for a long time settled in the agenda of significant events dedicated to education. The education system, fulfilling the adopted program, should prepare a huge number of schoolchildren, students and workers for life with the indispensable use of information and communication technologies. However, often the actual digitalization is reduced either to the digitization of educational materials and documents in educational structures, or to unhindered access to the Internet. If the request for digitalization is addressed to education, then, being in the pedagogical space, it would be reasonable to first determine what and how to teach. The problem of the lack of a reasonable psychological and pedagogical concept of digital learning, which could be used by the subjects of the educational process as a basic one, is raised in the article.

This qualitative study was carried out in two public schools located in the city of São Paulo, SP, Brazil, and involved two primary school science teachers (one from each school). Its objective was to discuss the relevance of continuing education of Science teachers with the emphasis on the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) in their teaching practice, the challenges faced by the insertion of these technological resources in the school environment, and improvements in school facilities. These aspects guide the need for training that prepares the teacher to deal with this type of situation. Data collection was done through the application of two interviews, at different moments of the research. These results were presented at an international event, Enseñanza de las Ciencias 2017, and we were able to observe the difference of realities between the science education in developed countries and noted the relevance of discussing this topic in the context of science teaching in Brazil.   Keywords: Teaching practice; Challenges in Science Education; Information and Communication Technologies.
