The present work aimed to evaluate the behavior of ten fertility attributes of soil organic matter physical fractions and total organic carbon upon addition of three EM Bokashis to a Rhodic Ferralsol (FRr) and a Dystric Cambisol (CMd). An experiment was carried out in greenhouse in which the soils were placed into plastic trays and cultivated with tomato. A completely randomized design was used with four repetitions and factorial scheme of 2 × 3 + 2, consisting of two soils (FRr and CMd), three EM Bokashis (Poultry Manure Bokashi (BPM); CNPH Bokashi (BC); and Cattle Manure Bokashi (BCM)), and two controls (both soils without addition of Bokashi). The following fertility attributes were evaluated: pH, Ca2+, Mg2+, K+, Na+, P, SB, H + Al, CEC, andV. Particulate organic carbon (POC) and mineral-associated organic carbon (MOC) and total organic carbon (TOC) were also investigated. Finally, the Principal Component Analysis was conducted in order to identify possible patterns related to soils when fertilized with EM Bokashi. The addition of EM Bokashi increased the soil fertility and contents of POC. Different EM Bokashi presents distinguished effects on each soil. The PCA suggests that BPM presents higher capacity to modify the analyzed chemical attributes.

Fruit waste can be a good source of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) because it contains macro and micronutrients needed by plants. This study aims to determine the type and concentration of LOF for the growth and yield of leek (Allium fistulosum, L.). This research was conducted from June to August 2019, in Pematang Gubernur, Muara Bangkahulu, Bengkulu City, Indonesia. Treatment consist of types of Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) which were cow manure (CM) and guava waste (GW) at concentrations of 25%, 50%, and 75%. Experimental treatment included; without LOF, CM LOF (25%), CM LOF (50%), CM LOF (75%), GW LOF (25%), GW LOF (50%), GW LOF (75%), CM LOF + GW LOF (25%), CM LOF + GW LOF (50%) and CM LOF + GW LOF (75%). The study used a completely randomized design (CRD), one factor, repeated five times. Differences in LOF concentration and source significantly affected the number of leaves and tiller diameter. Nonetheless, it did not affect the number of tillers, plant height, and fresh weight. Cow manure liquid organic fertilizer at a 50 % concentration raised the number of leaves by 35 %, whereas guava waste increased the leaves numbers by 25%. With the application of guava waste liquid organic fertilizer at a concentration of 75%, so the number of tillers increased by 23%.

Low content of soil organic matter and low availability of nutrients in Ultisol are major constraints of this soil to support growth and development of chili pepper. Application of organic fertilizer is required to increase content of soil organic matter as well as to improve other chemical, biological, physical properties of this soil. Wedelia (Wedelia trilobata) and Siam Weed (Chromolaena odorata) are potential sources of organic fertilizer. The aim of this study was to compare growth and yield of chili pepper under different time application of Wedelia and Siam Weed based organic fertilizers. Greenhouse house experiment was conducted employing Completely Randomized Design with 2 factors namely Wedelia and Siam Weed composts as first factor and 5 (five) different time of application as second factor. Each treatment was replicated 5 times. The study showed that most variables observed in this experiment were not affected by types of compost. Only were plant height, canopy width and dry weight of biomass significant difference between the two composts. Siam weed compost applied two weeks before planting resulted in plant canopy wider than Wedelia compost. However, Wedelia compost applied at planting resulted in longer chili pepper as compared to Siam weed compost. The experiment also revealed that Wedelia compost produced higher plant height and root dry weight as compared to Siam weed compost.
