The growing users of Android-based devices among students and demands the implementation of online learning to encourage innovation in the preparation of learning. One of the innovations following these conditions is the preparation of teaching materials based on Android. The purpose of this study is to find out of needs analysis of Android-Based learning materials for istimāʻ (lisetening) III  in Arabic Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The study analyses the student needs using the descriptive method. While the data will be collected questionnaire. Then, the data analyzed with a quantitative technique. There are three steps of the process that will go through, namely data reduction, data display, and taking a conclusion. The sample of this study was 40 fifth semester students. The result of the study shows that all students own and use based on Android smartphones and students want istimāʻ III materials to build in the based-on Android application.

The Arabic debate competition was canceled due to the Covid 19 pandemic. So that ITHLA held the competition through zoom. Meanwhile, the Arabic Language Education Study Program held an Arabic language debate through WhatsApp. The researcher aims to describe the Arabic debate amid the Covid 19 pandemic. Researchers used a qualitative approach. Researchers obtained data by observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data were analyzed descriptively. The result of this research is that debates during the pandemic are carried out through zoom and WhatsApp. The challenge is that this activity can be followed by Arabic language students throughout Indonesia because the Arabic debate is only followed by students in Java. Meanwhile, the problem is that students have to make sure their signal is good. Also, debates via WhatsApp at IAIN Jember lowered student interest. Meanwhile, students who debated through zoom found difficulties in rebutting.

AbstractThe word ‘media’ comes from the Latin Language ‘medium’. Media is a means of the instrument to channeling messages or learning information, by using the media can help achieve learning success. A media is very urgent and important in the effort to achieve the learning objects of the material. Learning media that is interesting for learners of Arabic is very needed, especially in understanding the material of Arabic rules. As we know that in Arabic Language Grammarly ‘Shorof’ which requires a lot of memorization. According to that as a solution is to use game as card for learning media. This learning media found in many learning process. But it has never been applied to the ‘Shorof’ material. This research was tried to experiment with its effectiveness to students of the Arabic Language Education Study Program in Faculty of Language Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The long-term need of this research is to provide a solution or a way to facilitate Arabic learners in memorizing the rules of ‘Shorof’ material in Arabic language and find effective learning media solutions in teaching Arabic in general.Keywords: Arabic language, card, media, shorof.

The main purpose of this study is to find a clear description of the effectiveness of using the scramble method to improve students’ proficiency in Arabic writing skills. This research is a qualitative study using a class action research method for 4th-semester students of 2016, in the Arabic language Education Study Program, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, who took Kitābah 1 course. The results of this study indicate that there are changes in the attitudes and behavior of students who study Kitābah 1 with the scramble method before and after applying the method, starting from the pre-research to the first and second cycles. In this second cycle, there is a very significant change compared to before where students are more active in asking questions and discussing with their groups. Because of their activeness, the results obtained were also significant changes. This is proven by the following changes: there are 29 out of 85 students who get “very good” grades, 37 students get “good” grades, and 15 students who have “enough” grades. Meanwhile, only 4 students scored “less”. The lack of value is because the student concerned did not enter the lecture so the value and understanding are lacking in the material that has been submitted.

Research objective is to providing an insight into the characteristics of Arabic language teaching materials in higher education in Indonesia. This research was conducted by examining a variety of literature relating to teaching materials and Arabic speaking skills. The research method applied survey, involving 97 students from the Arabic Language Education Study Program in several universities in Indonesia and structured interviews with lecturers who supported Arabic speaking skills. The procedure taken are 1) reading literature related to Arabic speaking teaching materials and teaching Arabic speaking skills, 2) observing the learning process of speaking skills at several Arabic Language Education Study Programs, 3) determining the type of survey, 4) determining the sample target, 5) preparing instruments for analyzing the needs of students, 6) preparing structured interview instruments for lecturers, 7) analyzing survey results, 8) translating survey result. The results of this study, teaching materials from Middle East has led to the emergence of gaps in achieving Arabic language skills for beginners, such as the lack of phonetic aspects being taught, monotonous forms of practice, directing students to memorize, and types of dialogue that are not in accordance with student culture in Indonesia. The characteristics of teaching materials that are suitable for use in Arabic language skills are divided into goals, phonetics, themes, social culture, exercises, steps and visualization.

The objectives of this research is to know students’ competence in critical reading at the fourth semester students of English Language Education Study Program, Khairun University consisting of 20 students who were selected by using purposive sampling technique. The researcher  applied quantitative descriptive method and analyzed the data by using critical reading rubric. From the data analyzed, the data showed nine students was categorized good. Ten students was categorized fair and one students was categorized poor. The analysis of questions the data showed that students’ got highest average score 56 on the question number eigh as categorized fair.  So, it can be concluded the students’ fourth semester of Khairun University Ternate have fair competence in critical reading.

<p><em>The background of this research was the importance of masteringKanji in learning Japanese since most Japanese transcriptions use it. However, the large number of Kanjicharacters gave students difficulty to understand kanji.The objective of this researchis was to study Kanji mastery level of  7th semester students of Japanese Education program in the academic year of 2016. This quantitative research applied the descriptive method. The object of the research was 25 students. To select the sample of the research is by using the purposive sampling technique. Data were taken fromthe scores of the students’ Kanjitest. The instrument of the research was an essay test which measured the students’ abilities in writing the Kanjicharacters. Based on the research results, it is found that the students’ mastery was in the “satisfactory” classification with score of 59,68.</em></p>

The aim of this research is to know the Students’ Abilityin understanding Figurative language at the eight year students of English language education study program of UNCP. This study focuses on figurative testing specially in metaphor test. Quantitative descriptive method is the research design that the researcher used in this research. The population in this research was the eight year students of English Language Education Study Program,and sample in this research was 30 students. The ability of students is verypoor that the mean score was 32.67 which is classified into “low level” score category.

Abstract. One of the problems in learning Arabic until now is that there is no hope that all students from Islamic Universities who use Arabic are studied in any faculty that can make a grouping of knowledge and religion. That is because the competency standards that have occurred so far lack focus on Arabic material for special purposes, so students must pass Arabic courses, but still find it difficult to use Arabic as a means of conducting Islamic studies and communication according to their respective majors. This paper tries to describe the curriculum design and learning models in Arabic subjects and improve the learning methods of scaffolding models for the help of effectiveness in the Medical Education Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Jakarta. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method with case studies on learning Arabic in the Medical Study Program of FIK UIN Jakarta. Data collection techniques carried out by participatory observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. While the data analysis technique is done by data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. This research was conducted by (1) analyzing the needs of early stage students, (2) setting learning objectives and selecting learning materials based on needs analysis by lecturers and MEU by making modules (3) applying scaffolding learning models in the framework of learning Arabic. The results showed; (1) The needs of PSPD FIK UIN Jakarta students in learning Arabic, in addition to general objectives that can be understood by the Qur'an and Hadith which are the main sources of teaching and Islamic law, also for more specific purposes to be able to communicate in Arabic while going Hajj also when invited as a medical team of Hajj officers. In addition, the Arabic learning objectives supported by other competency modules studied at PSPD, which are supported by the Muslim Doctors module, (2) The activity of the Arabic language module using scaffolding learning models has been running 90% according to the plan. In the Arabic module the pretest value of the posttest is 56.22%. According to students, Arabic learning materials can contribute in increasing the professionalism of doctors.Keywords: Assisted Learning, Arabic Learning, Needs Analysis, Scaffolding Abstrak. Salah satu problem dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab hingga saat ini yaitu belum tercapainya harapan agar semua mahasiswa khususnya dari Universitas Islam bahwa dengan bekal bahasa Arab yang dipelajari di fakultas apapun dapat melakukan integrasi ilmu dan agama. Hal itu disebabkan karena standar kompetensi yang diajarkan selama ini kurang fokus pada materi bahasa Arab untuk tujuan khusus, sehingga meskipun mahasiswa telah lulus mata kuliah bahasa Arab, tetapi masih mengalami kesulitan menggunakan bahasa Arab itu sebagai alat melakukan kajian keislaman maupun komunikasi sesuai jurusan masing-masing. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan desain kurikulum dan model pembelajaran pada mata kuliah bahasa Arab dan sejauhmana efektifitas metode assisted learning model scaffolding pada program studi Pendidikan Dokter Fakultas Ilmu Kedokteran UIN Jakarta.Metode penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif dengan jenis studi kasus pada pembelajaran bahasa Arab Program Studi Pendidikan Dokter FIK UIN Jakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi partisipatif, wawancara, kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan teknik analisa data dilakukan dengan data reduction, data display dan conclusion drawing.  Riset ini dilakukan dengan (1) analisis kebutuhan mahasiswa tingkat awal, (2) penetapan tujuan pembelajaran dan pemilihan materi pembelajaran berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan oleh dosen dan MEU dengan membuat modul (3) penerapan model pembelajaran scaffolding dalam rangka efektivitas pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ;  (1) Kebutuhan mahasiswa PSPD FIK UIN Jakarta dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab, selain untuk tujuan umum yakni dapat memahami AlQur’an dan Hadist yang keduanya merupakan sumber pokok ajaran dan hukum Islam, juga untuk tujuan yang lebih khusus lagi yakni agar dapat berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Arab saat pergi haji maupun saat bertugas sebagai tim medis petugas haji. Selain itu, tujuan pembelajaran bahasa Arab bertujuan sebagai pendukung kompetensi modul lain yang dipelajari di PSPD, yakni supaya terintegrasi dengan modul Dokter Muslim, (2) Kegiatan modul bahasa Arab dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran scaffolding telah berjalan 90% sesuai dengan rencana. Pada modul bahasa Arab didapatkan peningkatan nilai pretest terhadap posttest sebesar 56.22%. Menurut mahasiswa, materi pembelajaran bahasa Arab dapat berkonstribusi dalam peningkatan profesionalisme dokter.

The purpose of this research is to develop learning specifically on digital comic media, State University of Jakarta. The rmethod non-test research instruments in the form of student needs analysis questionnaires, feasibility questionnaires to media experts and material experts as well as test questionnaires to lecturers and students or questionnaires. Then at the stage of research and information gathering a needs analysis survey was conducted of students and students about the development of comic learning media to determine the needs and constraints faced by students. The results of the assessment in the form of digital comic product designs amounted to 90% (very good). The number of final average aspects and indicators of the characteristics of learning media amounted to 91.3% (very good / decent). The assessment of the material presented in digital comics media is considered good with results reaching 73%. The results of the product feasibility assessment assessed by 20 students from the Building Engineering Education Study Program were obtained at 91% (very good). Then the material validation and media on digital comic products developed were obtained an average score of 82.33% and included in the excellent category. Therefore the product can be said to be feasible to use.   Keywords: Learning Media, Digital Comics, Building Construction.

The curriculum is one of the many things that always get attention, because it is considered as the most dominant factor in the achievement of the success of the teaching and learning process, although that success is also inseparable from other factors. The significance of this research for faculties, especially the Arabic Language Education study program, is through this research the researcher wants to give an overview to the Arabic Education Study Program about the Arabic learning curriculum used in various schools, especially State schools in Bengkulu City. the results of this study can be used as material for the development of Arabic language education study programs. This research is expected to help students in finding reading sources so as to improve their quality.
