<p>The objective of the reseaech was to recognize the output and population  dynamics, correlation between body weight and body size, and also correlation between body weight and carcass weight and the most accurate body weight<br />estimation on Bali cattle in Timor Tengah Utara Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This research was done in 6 districts in 20 villages. The research material included 289 breeders as respondent, 530 Bali cattles and secondary data<br />from local Department of Animal Husbandry. The results showed that reproduction efficiency 83.60%, 21.72% natural increase, 21.47% potency of the population or 16,204 animals. There was annual increased with average 8.16% follows<br />regression equation Y = 63,151+5,376 X and by year of 2011 the population could be estimated as many as 100,783 animals with potency 21,638 animals. Correlation between body weight with body size in male Bali cow age &gt;1 to 2<br />years old followed equation Y = -286.13+2.11 X1+1.59X4 with r = 0.92 and R2 = 0.85. Male with age &gt;2 to 3 years old, Y = -441.16+2.23X1+2.96X3 with r = 0.95 and R2 = 0.90. Female age &gt;2 to 3 years old, Y = -153.27+2.19X1 with r =<br />0.78 and R2 = 0.60. Male with age &gt;3 to 4 years old, Y = -385.10+4.13X1 with r = 0.96 and R2 = 0.91. Female age &gt;3 to 4 years old, Y = 89.72+0.96X2 with r = 0.34 and R2 = 0.12. Correlation between body weight and carcass weight in<br />female age &gt;2 to 3 years old, Y = -3.84+0.56X with r = 0.97 and R2 = 0.94, female age &gt;3 to 4 years old, Y = 4.0+1.50X with r = 0.87 and R2 = 0.76, and female age &gt;4 years old, Y = 3.16+0.52X with r = 0.96 and R2 = 0.92.<br />Djagra Formula could be used to estimate male and female Bali cattle body weight in regency north middle Timor with correction factor each -0.34% and -16.71%.</p><p>(Key words: Bali Cattle, Performance, Potency, Population dynamics)<br /><br /></p>

Steer meat production in northern Spain is deficient to attend market demand. This research aimed to compare the foraging behaviour and production of yearling steers from two local breeds differing in body weight (BW), Asturian Valley (AV, 372 kg) and Asturian Mountain (AM, 307 kg), grazing in summer pastures consisting of 70% grassland and 30% heathland. Bodyweight gains from a total of 42 steers were recorded during four grazing seasons (from June to October). In two years, in July and September, plant community selection and diet composition were estimated by direct observation and using faecal markers, respectively. Grazing time increased from July to September (488 vs. 557 min/day; p<0.001) as sward height in the grassland decreased. Although AV steers grazed proportionally for longer on herbaceous pastures than AM steers (81.3 vs. 73.3%; p<0.05), no differences between breeds were found in diet composition. AM steers showed greater mean daily BW gains than AV steers (252 vs. 133 g/day; p<0.01). From June to August, steers from both breeds gained BW (487 vs. 360 g/day for AM and AV, respectively; p<0.01), but thereafter BW gains decreased (120 vs. –12 g/day for AM and AV, respectively; p<0.05), because of reduced availability of grassland herbage. Yearling steers from AM breed seem to be better suited to mountain conditions than those from AV breed, probably because of their smaller body size and lower total nutrient requirements for maintenance.

<p><em>This study aim to know the relationship between body size, body weight and carcass weight of male Simmental Ongole crossbred at various age. The study was conducted in Jagalan abattoir in Surakarta for 2 months from December 2016 untill Januari 2016. Ninety heads of male Simmental Ongole crossbred were grouped into 3 groups (each 30 heads) that are Group 1 (1,5-2 years old), Group 2 (2-3 years old) and Group 3 (3-3,5 years old) according to dental anatomy observation at the incisivus replacement. Body length and chest circumference were respectively observed then correlated with body weight and carcass weight. Result shows a strong correlation between body weight and carcass weight by r value 0.931. The correlation between body length with body weight, chest circumference with body weight of Group1, Group 2 and Group 3 also shows in similiar pattern, with r value 0.647, 0.787, 0.666, and 0.661, 0.851, 0.661 respectively. A strong correlation also expressed between body length with carcass weight and chest circumference with carcass weight in each of groups as shown by r value 0.638, 0.740, 0.551 and 0.572, 0.803, 0.603 respectively. It is conculded that body size, body weight and carcass weight of male Simmental Ongole crossbreed have strong correlation among others.</em></p>

<p>The objective of this research was to investigate the dynamics of population, productivity, and output of Bali cattle in region of Kepulauan Yapen Regency, Papua Province. The research was carried out for 3 months, started in<br />July until September 2009. The materials included 103 farmers as the respondent and 211 heads of Bali cattle. The result showed that reproductive efficiency (RE) was 88.38%, natural increase (NI) 18.18% and net replacement rate<br />value (NRR) of Bali cattle male and female were 234.28% and 189.59% each. The potency and compotition of Bali cattle being exported every year without disturbing the existing population was about 13.11% equal to 354 cattle,<br />consist of the remains of replacement stock (male cattle) about 4.27% equal to 115 cattle, culled not productive cattle of 3.18% male equal to 86 cattle and 5.67% for female equal to 153 cattle. Dynamic population of Bali cattle from 2004 until 2008 increased 6.6% per year in average and in 2013 population is estimated to be 3,028 cattle with the potency of about 2,153 cattle.</p><p>(Keywords: Male Bali cattle, Population dynamics, Productivity)<br /><br /></p>

Abstract This study aimed to determine the quantitative characteristics, the determinant of body size and shape, and the correlation of body measurements and the bodyweight of Bali and Simbal cattle in Renah Pamenang, Merangin District. The survey method was used along with purposive sampling, the samples were Bali and Simbal cattle aged I1 (Incicivus 1) and not in pregnant condition, with 60 cattle consisting of 30 males and 30 females. Observed data included: body weight, body weight gain, body length, shoulder height, chest circumference, chest weight, chest width, hip height, and canon circumference were analyzed using the t-test method. The principal component analysis was used to determine the determinant of size and shape of Bali and Simbal cattle followed by the regression and correlation analysis to determine the relationship and closeness of the relationship between body measurements with body weight. The result showed that the body weight, body weight gain, and body size of Bali cattle were significantly different (P <0.05) from Simbal. The body weight, body weight gain, and body size of Bali cattle were lower than Simbal cattle. The main characteristic of size in Bali and Simbal cattle was the Chest Circumference. The dominant characteristic of shape in Bali and Simbal cattle was shoulder height. The highest correlation between body measurements and body weight in Bali and Simbal cattle was the chest circumference. Metode yang digunakan adalah survey dengan pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling, yaitu sapi Bali dan Simbal, umur I1 (Incicivus 1),  dan tidak dalam keadaan bunting sebanyak 60 sampel yang terdiri dari 30 ekor jantan dan 30 ekor betina pada masing-masing bangsa. Data yang dihimpun meliputi : bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan, panjang badan, tinggi pundak, lingkar dada, dalam  dada, lebar dada, tinggi pinggul dan lingkar kanon dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Analisis komponen utama digunakan untuk mengetahui penciri ukuran dan bentuk tubuh sapi Bali dan Simbal kemudian dilanjutkan analisis regresi dan korelasi untuk mengetahui hubungan dan keeratan hubungan antara ukuran-ukuran tubuh dengan bobot badan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan dan ukuran-ukuran tubuh sapi Bali berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dengan Simbal. Bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan dan ukuran-ukuran tubuh sapi Bali lebih rendah dibandingkan Simbal. Penciri ukuran pada sapi Bali dan Simbal adalah lingkar dada. penciri bentuk pada sapi Bali dan Simbal adalah tinggi pundak. Korelasi tertinggi antara ukuran-ukuran tubuh dengan bobot badan sapi Bali dan Simbal adalah lingkar dada. Kata kunci: Karakteristik kuantitatif; Sapi Bali; Sapi Simbal

An experiment had been conducted in Merbaun Village, Regency of Kupang for three months. The objective of the experiment was to know characteristics of Bali cattle Bull i.e. age and body weight, body score condition, linier body size (e.g. chest girth, body length, and shoulder height), libido, scrotum circumference, and semen production. 125 of Bali cattle Bull with aged about 2-2,5 years were used  in physical measured while nine Bull were choosen randomly to measure libido and semen production. The results of the experiment showed that the average age and body weight were 25.83 ± 0.3719 months and 207.37 ± 1.84 kg, with BCS of 3.97 ± 0.04  (from 5 score), and the chest girth, body length, and shoulder height were 158.27 ± 0.71 cm, 106.87 ± 0.26 cm, and 108.55 ± 0.37 cm, respectively. About 77 head (61.6%) was brown colour, and the other 48 (38.4%) was black, with moderate of capacity of libido (score 7.22 ± 0.66  from  9 score). The average of scrotum circumference was 25.67±1.20 cm, volume of semen were  2.54±0.69 ml and sperm concentration was 1.26 x 109 per ml repectively. Of the total of 125 Bali cattle young bull, only 26% fulfilled the Indonesia Standard of Bali young bull.Key word : young bull, bali cattel, traditionally livestock.

Bali calf performance hybrid with some of the Bulls In Batanghari District, Jambi ProvinceABSTRACT. This study aimed to find out Bali calf performance hybrid with some of the males in Batanghari District Jambi Province. Variable of this research is the body Weight (age 205 days), weight age one year (365 days) and body size. The method used in this study was to reveal the census data on all the posts that do IB Bali cattle crossing with Simmenthal, Limousin, Brahman, PO and Bali vs bali. Comparison of body weight and one year old weight between the offspring Bali vs Simmenthal, Bali vs Limousin, Bali vs Brahman, Bali vs PO and Bali vs Bali, tested with t tests. The results of the analysis of different tests on average (t-test) show that body weight and weight Age 1 year SimBal Real Different (P 0.05) compared with LimBal, BrahBal, PoBal and BalBal. Based on the results and discussion can be concluded that, Bali cow crosses simmenthal produce offspring with a better than cow crosed Bali with Limousin, Brahman, and PO viewed from of body weight, weight of one year of age and body size.

This study aimedto identify the SNP g.643G>Aof MYF5 genethen associate it with body weight and body size measurements in Bali cattle. Blood samples were collectedfrom 80 bali cattle at BPTU-HPT Denpasar Bali. Data on phenotypic properties observed included; birth weight, live weight, average daily gain, body length, chest depth, withers height, hip height, and heart girth. Polymorphismof the MYF5 gene was identifiedusing the PCR-RFLP method. Association of MYF5 genotypes with body weight and body size measurementswas performed using General Linear Model by SAS 9.4 program. MYF5│MspI gene was polymorphic with three genotypes: AA, AG, and GG. Genotype frequency of AA, AG and GG were 0.04 (3), 0.30 (24), and 0.65 (53), respectively. Allele frequencies were 0.19 and 0.81 for A and G alleles, respectively. Gene frequency analysis showed that Bali cattle at BPTU-HPT Denpasar was in Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium. Association of MYF5│MspI gene with body weight and body measurement were not significantly different. SNP g.643G>A could not be used as a genetic marker for the body weight and body size measurements in Bali cattle.

This study aims to determine the performance of broiler carcasses given meniran and moringa extracts. The research was conducted for 28 days at the Animal Husbandry Practice Unit (UPT) of the Karanganyar Animal Husbandry Academy. The material used was 60 broiler strain Ross strains aged 4 days, kept in 12 experimental units, each unit consisting of 5 chickens with an average initial weight of 95.77 ± 4.79 g. The first treatment (T0) control, chicken without giving meniran and moringa extracts, the second treatment (T1) the chicken was given 5 ml meniran extract per liter of drinking water, the third treatment (T2) the chickens were given 2.5 ml meniran extract and moringa 2 extract, 5 Moringa extracts per liter of drinking water, the fourth treatment (T3) of chickens was given Moringa extract 5 ml per liter of drinking water. The variables observed included drinking water consumption, final body weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, and abdominal fat percentage. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD). The data were analyzed for variety and if there was a significant effect of the treatment, it was continued with the Duncan Multiple Distance Test to determine differences in treatment. The results showed that drinking water consumption, percentage, and percentage of abdominal fat were not significantly different between treatments, final body weight (g / head / day). , and carcass weight was significantly different between treatments. The conclusion of this research is that giving meniran and moringa extracts in drinking water does not affect the performance of broiler chicken carcasses. Keywords : Moringa meniran extract, final body weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, abdominal fat percentage

The vertnin (VRTN) gene g.20311_20312ins291 was reported as an important variant related to the number of ribs (RIB), and the ins/ins genotype was advantageous for improving RIB of Western pigs. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the VRTN gene g.20311_20312ins291 influences RIB, carcass traits, and body size traits, including cannon bone circumference (CBC) in Chinese Suhuai pigs. We found that the VRTN gene g.20311_20312ins291 was polymorphic in Suhuai fattening pigs and gilts. The polymorphism of g.20311_20312ins291 was significantly associated with RIB and CDL in Suhuai fattening pigs (p < 0.01), whereas this variant had no influence on carcass weight (CWT). There was a tendency of association between this variant and carcass straight length (CSL) in Suhuai fattening pigs (p = 0.06). The polymorphism of g.20311_20312ins291 was also significantly associated with CBC in Suhuai gilts (p = 0.04). Furthermore, CBC was positively genetically correlated with body length (0.22, p < 0.01) and body weight (0.15, p < 0.01). Our results indicated that the VRTN gene g.20311_20312ins291 could be used as a potential marker for improving RIB, CDL, and CBC in Suhuai pigs.
