This study investigated the length-weight relationships (LWRs) and condition factors (K) of three Cichlids viz., Sarotherodonmelanotheron, Coptodonguineensis and the hybrid Coptodonguineensis x Coptodonzillii in three small lagoons invaded by macrophytes from the South-east of Cote dIvoire. Fishes were caught monthly from September 2017 to August 2019 using traps, gill nets, harpoons and hawks. Standard length and weight of individuals were taken to the nearest 1 mm and 0.1 g respectively. A total of 721, 932and 755 specimens were collected respectively in Ono, Kodjoboue and Hebe lagoons. For all species, two size classes namely sizes of 7-12 cm and 14-29 cm were encountered. About 65-70% of individuals have sizes varying from 14 cm to 20 cm vs. 20-25% of individuals with size ranging between 7 and 10 cm. The growth patterns were significant with a coefficient of determination (r²) varying from 0.89 to 0.98. The slope values were 2.88-2.97 for S. melanotheron, 2.84-2.85 for C. guineensis and 2.90-2.98 for hybrids, with a significant variation according to sexes and localities. The condition factor showed the range of 3.96 ± 0.61 to 4.25 ± 1.97, indicating that despite being invaded by several macrophytes, the environment of these lagoons is well suitable for Cichlids.

Macrobrachium assamense peninsularie length-weight relationship and Fulton’s condition factor was studied in Khoh tributary of Ram Ganga in the Garhwal Himalaya region of Uttarakhand for the period of one year from March 2009-Feb 2010. A strong positive relationship was observed between the length and weight in both the sexes (male and female) (b<3). Also when data was pooled, the growth was allometric (b<3). The values obtained from the length/weight relationship (LWR) showed that there was a high and significant correlation between the total length and weight after using the t-test for the significance of correlation. The highest correlation coefficient ‘r’ =0.94 i.e strong association between length and weight was observed. This means that as the length of the prawn increases the weight increases in the same proportion. Coefficient of determination r2 was also high (0.88) which indicated that the model used for the analysis fits the data, confirming the fitness of the model. The Fulton’s condition factor “K” was recorded highest (K = 2.0603) in March and lowest (K = 1.6195) in May in Male while in female, the condition factor (K = 2.1038) was highest in August and lowest (K = 1.5345) in October. The condition factor “K” ranges from 1.6195 to 2.0603 in male and 1.5345 to 2.1038 in female. It means the condition factor was sex and season dependent. The difference in condition factors in male and female may be attributed to the presence of ovigerous female, environmental conditions and changes in feeding intensity.

This study aims to study population of beloso fish. The research was conducted between May-June 2010 at Morosari Waters Area, District SayungDemak. Beloso fish catches are measured standard length, total length and weight. The data analysis suchgrowth was using Von Bertalanffy, length - weight relationship, conditional factor and, food and feeding habits.Growthof beloso fish(O. microlepis) in Morosari waters area has a value of  L ∞ of 13,49cm by the equation L(t) = 13,49 ( 1 - exp 0,0175 (t-1,9053)) for length, while based on the weight obtained for W ∞ 128,33 grams with the equation W(t) = 128,33 ( 1 - exp -0,003 (t-2,4312))3. Length-weight relationship beloso fish have value of b1,451 in the Morosari waters area. This value indicates that the growth of beloso fish is negative allometric, which the addition of lengthis faster than its weight. Based on data calculations of beloso fish condition factor in the Morosari waters shows the range of condition factors from 0,0965 to 0,3661, which are preferred food energy accretion term. Beloso fish areomnivorous fish that consume phytoplankton, zooplankton, and detritus as food found in the Morosari estuary.

Aim: The study aimed to investigate the morphometric and meristic measurements, length-weight relationship and relative condition factor of Odonus niger landed along coastal Karnataka. Methodology: The morphometric and meristic measurements, length-weight relationship and relative condition factor (Kn) of O. niger was studied for a period of eight months from August 2019 to March 2020. The different morphometric characters were subjected to statistical analysis. The length-weight relationship was analyzed for both the sexes (female and male) and combined data. Monthly relative condition factor was analyzed for both the sexes and for different size group. Results: A comparison of different morphometric measurements exhibited good extent of correlation indicating good extent of interdependence of these characters. Four out of eight morphometric characters are environmentally controlled and suggested wide range of zoogeographical distribution of O. niger. The length-weight relationship is indicated as W = 0.046 L2.565, W = 0.044 L2.589 and W = 0.047 L2.561 with coefficient of determination (r2) of 0.910, 0.913 and 0.910 for male, female and combined sexes, respectively. The 'b' values of both the sexes (male and female) exhibited negative allometric growth (p<0.05) and appeared to be leaner. There was no significant (p<0.05) variation for relative condition factor (Kn) among the months and size groups. However, little higher values were observed during November and February. Interpretation: The study fills the knowledge gap and support for developing a suitable management system for this fish species.

ABSTRACT Length and weight data are useful in fisheries management and standard results of fish monitoring programs. Length-weight relationship (LWR) is used for estimating the weight corresponding to a given length, and the condition factor is used to compare the body condition, fatness or health of fish populations. This study aimed to estimate the LWR and the condition factor for 12 freshwater fish species from the Igarapé Fortaleza basin, a tributary of the Amazonas River system in the State of Amapá, eastern Amazon (Brazil). The coefficient of determination, the allometric condition factor and the allometric coefficient varied among species, and were compared with populations elsewhere. In 83.3% of the species, the allometric coefficient remained within the expected range. This was the first record of LWR parameters for Acestrorhynchus falcirostris.
