Knowledge is a success key in every field aspects. Along with the development in the world nowadays, where globalization is a challenge in every Indonesian human resource to face global competition. In this case, education has important part as media in developing qualified human resources and also as the place where they can be educated in their field. In the development of information technology, it came new systems in several fields including what educational field known as e-learning. Knowledge management (KM) is one implementation of e-learning. Over the years, there have been an escalating shift from manual work to knowledge work all over the world and knowledge workers are in high demand. This study explores how well knowledge management factors such as information technology, organizational culture, measurement, management leadership and support, and human resources management exist in the Nigerian banking industry and it examined how well these critical success factors are being implemented. The study uses study consisted of members of staff of six selected Nigerian banks. A total of 100 copies of research questionnaire were administered to collect data for the study.  The 100 questionnaires were administered to the respondents out of which 72 copies were duly filled and found usable, amounting to 72% response rate. The study found that there is high level of management leadership and support with mean score of 4.01, organizational culture (4.01), measurement (4.02); information technology (4.43), and human resources management practices (4.18). In total, the mean score for knowledge management practice in the Nigerian banking industry is 4.43, making it a highly practiced concept in the Nigerian banking industry. It is recommended that management of banks in Nigeria should invest in knowledge management activities especially in this time that most economies in the world are knowledge-based.

Information technology is increasingly developing and has a positive impact on the world of education. The implementation of student counseling with a Knowledge Management System is one of the contributions of information technology in the world of education. Many benefits provided by the Student Counseling Knowledge Management System, in managing the knowledge needed by the counselor section to document student consultations. The development and implementation of a KMS counseling system costs more to employ professional staff to maintain and improve; KMS student counseling application; For this reason, it is necessary to design a Cloud Computing-based Student Counseling Knowledge Management System. The research method carried out in the first stage is to collect data and information about Knowledge Management and Student Counseling, and how to use it to create a Knowledge Management System Application, Student Counseling Based on cloud computing. Furthermore, conducting a literature study and literature review, system design is in the form of data architecture compounding, process design, network design, and user interface design. The design results of this system can facilitate educational institutions in conducting online cloud computing-based student counseling

Significant debates on the role of human resources have been shifted from organizational assets to initiator of innovation and competitive advantages. A current research has investigated suggestive roles of intellectual capital (IC) in strategic human resource management (SHRM) process and human research management (HRM) practices. Conversely, others have shown that the successful management of IC has related to implementation of knowledge management (KM). In turn, those perspectives suggest the implementation and usage of KM ensure the growth of IC, and the innovative IC may become an effective human resources strategies and practices to acquire innovation and competitive advantages. Through a comprehensive analysis of the latest journals on those concepts, this study argues that human resource strategies and practices involving KM and management of IC give potential oppurtunities to gain innovation and competitive advantages. Besides, this theoretical perspective suggests organizational culture and leadership style are interrelated to the process.

As in the world of work the Consumer Loan Area Of Manado of course, is in desperate need of Human Resources, in achieving  loan credit. Consumer Loan Area Manado customers must maintain and balance the development of local Human Resources. To reach the target, of course, the Consumer Loan has its own way of empolying Human Resources called sales. Sales work to product sales and must understand marketing management in Consumer Loansfor example, collaterals from each registered developer. And sales gave developers an offer so that developers would also want to join the Bank Mandiri Consumer Loan In Manado. However, the sales must also obey and understand the regulations in the Consumer Loan.and if Human Resources work well in the company where they work. Then each gets a profit, for example. Sales get a lucrative bonus from the company because it has helped to achieve the target of Home Ownership Loans. The number of corporate universities is increasing by leaps and bounds, and the role of corporate universities is rapidly evolving and becoming more tightly integrated with an organization’s strategic planning and assessment. How can HRM faculty and practitioners keep their respective curricula and organizations up to date? The first section of this chapter provides an overview of the current corporate university landscape, discussing the three major factors that influence both their growth and their role in organizations: strategy and human resources, knowledge management, and technology and e-learning. The second section includes an annotated compendium of key resources in each of these areas, especially Internet resources.

An ontology comprises the explicitly articulated and shared concepts of a knowledge community or domain. These concepts are arranged formally in a taxonomy and are governed by specifically defined rules and axioms. Ontologies often play an important role in knowledge management information technology (KMIT). An enterprise knowledge management IT system, for example, may use an ontology “to facilitate communication, search, storage, and [knowledge] representation” (O’Leary, 1998, p. 58). A general survey of the literature suggests that ontologies are capable of improving performance in a large variety of knowledge management IT functions, especially relative to knowledgebases for best practices, lessons learned, human resource skills, Help Desks, FAQs, document collections, standards and regulations, products, services, proposals, and the like. In addition, as we look to the future, ontologies will function centrally in agent-mediated knowledge management (AMKM), distributed knowledge management (DKM), and the Semantic Web (Daconta, Obrst, & Smith, 2003; Fensel, 2001; Heflin, Volz, & Dale, 2002; McGuiness, 2002), as these technologies become pervasive in a global economy that distributes KM knowledgebases across companies and cultures.

Information Technology (IT), and the subsequent broad acceptance of Information and Knowledge Management (IM/KM) methods revolutionized the way business is thought of and practiced. With e-business facilitating the ability to do more, more, faster, at a wider range, and to influence ever larger and more diverse consumer groups, the impact of technology on commerce, finance, and global economy has been frequently compared to the “paradigm shift” that Kuhn (1970) proposed as the essence of scientific revolution. Yet, despite the transformational influence of modernity on the ancient art, the fundamental principles of business have not changed: overreliance on the facilitation of business operations as the substitution for the adherence to the soundness of their conduct fuelled rampant growth of corporate laisse faire, and already twice brought the world to the brink of economic disaster (Stiglitz, 2003; Steingart, 2008).


The value of human resources in every commercial and industrial sector cannot be over-emphasized. Even in the age of automation, management of human resources has never been more significant or relevant. Information technology can help in management of human resources such that companies can make optimum utilization of skills and experience while keeping costs low. In this chapter, the authors touch upon the various aspects of human resource information systems and the usefulness of such in managing human relations across all levels of employment.

This paper reviews the current knowledge management (KM) practices to examine the attention (or lack thereof) paid to the individual in managing knowledge in organisations. It identifies and reviews four key practices of KM - i.e., information technology, organisational culture and structure, communities of practice, and human resource practices - to examine how knowledge is interpreted, processed and managed, and the role individuals play in such interpretations, processing and management. The review shows that existing KM practices may be improved through an increased focus on the role of individuals (an individual-centric approach) in designing and implementing KM in organisations.

This case presents a scenario that pertains to the effective management of human resources in a Chinese cultural context where guanxi and face are of considerable importance. It depicts actual situations in detail, but the names of the organization and participants have been disguised at the request of the interviewees. The scenarios deal with issues of managerial appointments, promotion, husband-wife team in an organization, threat of resignation, effective leadership and achievement of subordinate respect and performance. Human resource management in China often requires a different approach from that espoused in the Western literature that currently dominates orthodox management theory. With China's growing economic power and the numerous foreign joint ventures in China, examining the cultural differences provides important insights for understanding the ways in which the norms and informal rules in general, and face and harmony in particular, function in Chinese organizations.
