Traditional agroforestry systems are widely recognized for their contributions to provisioning, support, regulation, and cultural services. However, because of the advancement of industrial agriculture and a corporative food system, peasants' food systems are rapidly undergoing transformation. We identify the contributions of four types of agroforestry systems (AFS)—shade cocoa agroforest, shade coffee agroforest, milpas and homegardens—to food provisioning in peasant families and discuss conflicts between traditional food systems and the contemporary industrial model of production and consumption confronted by peasants and semi-proletarian migrants. We carried out research in 17 peasant communities in Chiapas, Mexico, and conducted 97 semi-structured interviews and agroecological inventories with peasant families, and 15 interviews with semi-proletarian families laboring in shade-grown coffee plantations. Thirty-nine weekly food diaries were applied in two communities. We recorded 108 plant species belonging to 49 botanic families. These species play an important role as sources of carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids. Despite the extraordinary agrobiodiversity of peasant agroecosystems, peasant families (PF) are changing their AFS' structure, composition and functions due to the influence of agribusiness, global markets, and public policies that orient changes in production and marketing, which in turn devalue local food, agrobiodiversity, and knowledge. Changing perceptions regarding the value of “good food” vs. “food of the poor” and competition over land use between traditional and modern systems are driving changes in diet, food sources, and health of PF who are including industrialized foods in their diets, driving changes in consumption patterns and affecting human health. For semi-proletarian migrants laboring in coffee plantations, land access in and outside of the plantation and strengthening social networks could mean access to healthier and culturally appropriate foods. While peasants have historically responded to market and household needs, articulating both activities to satisfy family needs and provide income is limited. This work highlights the urgent need to acknowledge the non-monetary value of local foods, agrobiodiversity, local knowledge, community building, and the need to work towards securing land access for landless workers in Latin America.

With the support of network information technology, the Online Knowledge Community (OKC) has emerged. Among different OKC applications, some entered into the new era of popular knowledge production, while others experienced the process to decline. In order to solve the dilemma faced by the OKC platforms, the needs-affordances-features (NAF) perspective on OKC is proposed by taking Zhihu, one of the most popular OKC applications in China as an example. According to NAF, the psychological needs of individuals motivate the use of Zhihu to the extent to which Zhihu offers affordances that satisfy the individuals’ needs. By collecting data through questionnaires and using SPSS and AMOS for data analysis, the relationship between individuals’ psychological needs and Zhihu affordances is identified. This paper generates two aspects of implications. In terms of theoretical implications, a more comprehensive framework is developed for the affordances of OKC as a whole, and the NAF model is leveraged to identify related psychological needs which motivate the use of a specific OKC application—Zhihu. Further research can leverage NAF to identify different OKC platform features which satisfy the psychological needs of their targeting users to optimize the system of OKC platforms. As for practical implications, by building the relationship between the affordances of OKC platforms and users’ psychological needs, marketers have to realize that although the digital platform system has a certain degree of imitability, the value positioning, user community, and core capabilities behind those platforms are all different. Thus, the platform system must also be differentiated. In order to determine the appropriate business model, a clear understanding of these organizational features should be identified.

Cultural values must be strengthened as part of local wisdom by increasing community capacity in the management and innovation of tourist attractions. Cultural activities in Dewa Bronto Tourism Village have been running for some time, but their management is still subpar. The community does strongly support tourism activities, but community participation in managing the potential of tourist villages remains low. This service activity aims to increase community involvement in managing the cultural event of Dewa Bronto Tourism Village in Brontokusuman Village through an empowerment approach. Mentoring activities are carried out at various stages of socialization, tourism village management training, tourism product management, and marketing the potential of tourist villages. Implementing community service activities has the potential to increase knowledge, community skills, and form awareness and independence in the management of tourist villages, particularly cultural events. Implementing the program has the potential to increase knowledge, community skills, and form awareness and independence in the management of tourist villages, particularly cultural events. This is demonstrated by the community's active participation in organizing cultural events on its own. Furthermore, the community participated in cultural-themed tourism competitions at the Yogyakarta City level.

Software knowledge community contains a large scale of software knowledge entities with complex structure and rich semantic relations. Semantic relation extraction of software knowledge entities is a critical task for software knowledge graph construction, which has an important impact on knowledge graph based tasks such as software document generation and software expert recommendation. Due to the problems of entity sparsity, relation ambiguity, and the lack of annotated dataset in user-generated content of software knowledge community, it is difficult to apply existing methods of relation extraction in the software knowledge domain. To address these issues, we propose a novel software knowledge entity relation extraction model which incorporates entity-aware information with syntactic dependency information. Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit (Bi-GRU) and Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN) are used to learn the features of contextual semantic representation and syntactic dependency representation, respectively. To obtain more syntactic dependency information, a weight graph convolutional network based on Newton’s cooling law is constructed by calculating a weight adjacency matrix. Specifically, an entity-aware attention mechanism is proposed to integrate the entity information and syntactic dependency information to improve the prediction performance of the model. Experiments are conducted on a dataset which is constructed based on texts of the StackOverflow and show that the proposed model has better performance than the benchmark models.

The problem of marine debris is inseparable from the culture of the people who are not aware not to throw garbage in the sea and the lack of communication between stakeholders. Problems with the implementation of waste management also occur in the city of Kendari, the increase in population result in the accumulation of waste person as much 0.6 kg/day or 247.96 tons/day. The purpose of the study was to determine the factors related to the behavior of people throwing garbage at sea in the coastal area of Bungkutoko Village. The research method is quantitative research with cross sectional design with a sample of 231 respondents by purposive sampling using the Spearman Rank Correlation test. The results of this study indicate that there is no relationship between public knowledge and the act of throwing garbage at sea (p-value=0.545>0.05), there is no relationship between community attitudes and the act of throwing garbage at sea (p-value=0.225>0.05), there is no relationship between available facilities and the act of throwing garbage at sea (p-value=0.196>0.05), there is no relationship between local government supervision and the act of throwing garbage at sea (p-value=0.505>0.05). AbstractIn today’s society, the resilience of communities is in the spotlight. How can communities shape and respond to the challenges they face in order to achieve a better future? For researchers focusing on this question, researching artistic practices can provide valuable insights and inspiration. From a resilience perspective that seeks to incorporate people’s everyday lifeworld and local knowledge, community arts in particular hold much potential, being an art form that actively engages people in the creative process. Evidencing the impact of community arts projects has become more important over the years. However, as this chapter discusses, there are several tensions and concerns around evaluating the impact of the arts. The chapter takes as its empirical focus one such project in particular: the multi-year theatre-trilogy Grutte Pier, which took place in the Dutch village Kimswerd between 2014 and 2018. In this village, the site-specific theatre company PeerGrouP worked together with the inhabitants to create a trilogy around the village’s historical figure Grutte Pier. The chapter reflects on an explorative research project into the impact of this community arts project on the village. Hereby, it contributes to the understanding of how meaningful change can be achieved in communities, preparing them for a more sustainable future. The reflections on the explorative research support the need to adopt a critical perspective with regard to assessing the value of artistic practices. The experiences in Kimswerd show that community arts projects can be an evocative way of engaging a community and can result in a variety of effects. The chapter discusses both personal effects, relating to personal growth, people’s social life and feelings of pride, as well as effects at the village level, such as the creation and strengthening of bonds between the inhabitants. Effects are expected to go a long way and be a great boost for a community’s organizational capacity and future activities. In light of these findings, it appears to be a successful formula to have artists coming to a community as ‘outsiders’, actively engaging inhabitants in a large community arts project that is both locally grounded and offers the inhabitants various ways of participating themselves.

The new media, which is under the traditional media, is rapidly becoming an extremely important channel for political communication. In our digital age, which refers to the electronic revolution shaped by means of communication, before the electronic revolution, which is accepted as a leap in the developmental line of the history of civilization as synonymous with the information and knowledge community, political communication also changes like every other issue. Radio and television have risen to a central position in the political relations of people in the electronic world; In this process, channels, radio and television, which are among the 3 issues in the classification between receivers, transmitters and channels, have made the way of using and benefiting from both transmitters and receivers into a habit, in accordance with their own characteristics. In this process, which took place within the boundaries drawn by television-mediated political communication, each of the parties had to construct roles, wishes, expectations, identity, constitutionalism, reconciliation, activities according to the instrumentality of television. By internalizing the drawn framework and borders more and more every day, it has indexed all kinds of political activities that can be realized through the media in daily life to radio and television, and then to new media tools. Key Words: Technology, Political Communication, New Media.
