"The production and yield of grain crops in Ukraine from 2000 to 2019 was analysed in the article. The comparative analysis of gross harvest and export of grain during these years was carried out and the dependence of exports on gross harvest and its share was determined. The results point out that the export of grain crops has increased over the years under research, which indicates Ukraine’s significant export potential. Thus, leaving for the needs of the country from 16.0 to 36.6 million tons of grain (on average, 25.9 million tons), Ukrainian farmers export an average of 40.7% of the crop. During the period from 2000 to 2019, the gross harvest of grains in the country averaged 48.4 million tons resulting in the annual potential share of exports of at least 22.4 million tons. It was also found that the increase in the share of exports was made possible by a qualitative change in yield, which was due to the changes in crop growing technology. However, with global warming and climate change, new challenges for agricultural producers are emerging. The recommendations were given in order to improve the crop growing technology that will allow to overcome these challenges, further increase yields and Ukraine's export potential. "

Currently, the level of efficiency of an effective agricultural production process is determined by how it reduces natural environmental hazards caused by various types of technologies and means of agricultural production. Compared to conventional production, the aim of integrated agricultural cultivation on commercial farms is to maximize yields while minimizing costs resulting from the limited use of chemical and mineral means of production. As a result, the factor determining the level of obtained yield is the soil’s richness in nutrients. The purpose of this study was to conduct a comparative analysis of soil richness, depending on the production system appropriate for a given farm. The analysis was conducted for two comparative groups of farms with an integrated and conventional production system. The farms included in the research belonged to two groups of agricultural producers and specialized in carrot production.

Abstract Countries provide different levels of support from public expenditures to farmers. Some countries subsidise their agricultural producers more significantly. On the other hand, other group of countries provides less support to their producers from public resources. Different international organisations and institutions provide their own indicators as in the case of the Oranisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The OECD provides a comprehensive framework to measure the level of support and to identify its structure. This measurement provides a comparable review of support to agriculture from public budgets and helps to evaluate the transfers from taxpayers to producers or consumers. The aim of our work was to present this measurement framework, the differences in support between OECD and some non-OECD countries and to see if there is an evidence of development in level and/or in structure of supports in agriculture in the 2016, 2017 and 2018’s editions of OECD publications taken into consideration. The comparative analysis shows that not only the level, but the composition of support differes from country to country.

The subject of the researchis technical and technological equipment of different sectors in Russian agriculture. The urgency of the problem under study is caused by the necessity to ensure the sufficient level of food safety of the Russian Federation, which is impossible to be reached without technical and technological renovation of the agricultural industry and without effective implementation of the programs of progressive development of the Russian agroindustrial complex and raising its competitiveness on the basis of acceptable materiel and technical support level of the agriculture. The purpose of the workis conducting a comparative analysis of technical and technological equipment of different Russian agricultural sectors with the aim of determining the necessary purchase amount for agricultural equipment within the framework of implementing the May 2018 Decree of the Russian Federation President. In the cause of the research the author used the techniques of vertical, comparative and retrospective analyses via examining the change dynamics in the areas under crop on the whole in the RF and the sown areas along single crops, the dynamics of gross agricultural output in all sorts of farm businesses, as well as the dynamics of productivity of different cultivated crops in farm businesses of different kinds across the Russian Federation. On the basis of the research the author determines the dynamics of change in major statistical agricultural indicators for the period of 1990–2018 that were used to forecast investments by agricultural producers into purchasing equipment in 2019–2020. The author also presents requirements computation for agricultural equipment (harvesting combines and tractors).

In present times, agrarian receipts are becoming increasingly popular among small agricultural producers. In parallel, the issues related to the improvement of the legal framework for their functioning and circulation, the incompleteness of the process of registration of property rights and lease agreements for land plots in the State Register of property rights to immovable property, low awareness of farmers with the mechanisms of circulation of these financial instruments appear to be relevant. The study is aimed at theoretical substantiating the problems, achievements and prospects associated with the functioning and circulation of agrarian receipts, as well as developing practical recommendations for improving this process. The study was carried out according to the general methodological scheme of the system approach. In the course of the study, the methods of comparative analysis, statistics-economic, abstract-logical, graphic, and some other methods were used. It is determined that the functioning of the five-year project «Agrarian Receipts in Ukraine», initiated by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), provided a powerful basis for the successful use of agrarian receipts. The peculiarities of functioning and circulation of agrarian receipts in agriculture of Ukraine are substantiated. A comparative analysis of the use of agrarian receipts and other credit instruments by agricultural producers is carried out. Problems are identified and advantages associated with the use of agrarian receipts are outlined. It is proved that agrarian receipts are an effective instrument for attracting relatively cheap credit resources by small and medium-sized agricultural producers. Registration of agrarian receipts speeds up the procedure for obtaining a loan; does not require additional collateral, since the collateral is the future crop; can be repaid by the products for which the loan was provided. It is determined that the improvement requires a mechanism of functioning of agrarian receipts in terms of increasing the period of their use, expanding the list of entities that can issue agrarian receipts, changing the collateral for agrarian receipt. Further research will be aimed at developing new and improving existing financial instruments of rural development.

The fragmentation of the Agricultural Real Estate in Romania, which is due to the lack of vision regarding the retrocession of the land and to the ineffective measures for reparcelling farmland, manifests by the existence of a record number of about 3422 million farms in Romania, of which about 92% have a utilized agricultural area (UAA) below 5 ha. The Romanian agricultural sector possesses about 30% of the total European farms but contributes only 3% to the total EU agricultural production. The association of local agricultural producers may be an alternative to reparcelling farmland on a short-term basis in order to reduce the fragmentation degree and increase the competitiveness of the national agricultural sector. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, 25 active groups of agricultural producers are registered in the South-East Region in 2018, where these associative entities have been recorded to have a low degree of viability. The paper proposes an analysis on the farmers’ motivation regarding the access to/exit from a form of agricultural association and the identification of some alternatives for increasing the viability of the associative forms in the agricultural sector in the South-East of Romania. In this respect, a study was carried out on a sample of 16 entities that gave up their status of producer groups in the analyzed region in 2011–2018. The Fuzzy Set Quantitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) Qualitative analysis method was applied, which identified the main influence factors that have led to the disappearance of this associative form. We consider this study relevant for drawing attention to the main obstacles that Romanian farmers face in joining an associative form. The study has shown that mainly the factors directly influenced by government policies have led to the withdrawal of a relatively large number of producers from producer groups in the studied region.

In the early 1990s, when state and collective farms were undergoing a reorganization procedure, the most heated debate was about which organizational and legal forms are most suitable for agricultural organizations in a market economy. The article examines the dynamics of the development of such structures in the context of organizational and legal forms. In the course of the study, using materials from the Altai Territory, an assessment was made of the presence of animals belonging to various agricultural producers, the dynamics of their products and the level of production efficiency. An assessment of the economic efficiency of the activities of agricultural organizations in the Rodinsky and Romanovsky districts of the region is given. As a result of a comparative analysis, it was revealed that the most effective organizational and legal form is production in subsidiary plots of the population (citizens).

The modern, technological and increasingly dynamic world in which we live gradually requires a change not only in the way of thinking, but also in the way of working in every field of activity, including agrarian business. Gradually, during the different stages of its development, agriculture goes through different epochs and stages of development. At the present stage, agriculture has successfully passed the degree of mechanization, precision and has confidently focused on digitalization. This report aims to reveal the essence of digital agriculture, to distinguish it from precision and to highlight the opportunities, obstacles and prospects for its development. In order to achieve this goal, a survey has been developed covering agricultural producers, leaseholders and students from the agricultural business. Methods of deduction, induction, comparative analysis, survey method and pre-structured in-depth interview are applied.
