Students who are mathematics teacher candidates have different mathematical communication skills. They carry out mathematics learning when doing teaching practice. Their mathematical communication skills greatly influence the communication that is implemented into mathematics learning in the classroom. This study aims to describe the mathematical communication profile of female students who are mathematics teacher candidates. The participant of this study was a female teacher candidate who was carrying out teaching practice (PPL) at the training school. Data collection was done by recording the implementation of learning, which was presented through learning video transcripts and analyzed by data reduction, data displaying, and interpretation-verification. The results of this study are prospective female teachers always ask students to repeat their answers, to ensure the answers mentioned. This has resulted in the fact that female mathematics teacher candidates are not strict in making decisions, seem rambling in making decisions. The nonverbal communication of female teacher candidates is a clear voice heard throughout the class; ways/gestures, movements of appearance and facial expressions show calmness and smile to students, so learning flows smoothly.

This research is a quasi-experimental study that aims to determine the comparison of students' mathematical communication abilities with the cooperative learning model of the NHT and PPT media in class VII SMP Negeri 02 Ngabang. The population in this study were all students of class VII SMP 02 Ngabang consisting of 3 classes. The sample in this study was taken by using the Random Sampling Cluster technique. Class VII A as class I experimental class with 24 students and class VII B as a experimental class II with 24 students. The instruments used were pretest and posttest in the form of description. Data analysis uses the t test with a significance level of 5%. The results showed the average posttest for the NHT class was 72.5 and the average posttest for the PP class was 66.666. From the posttest hypothesis test results obtained t hitung> t tabel (1.9522> 1,667). Because t_hitung> t_tabel, H_0 is rejected and H_a is accepted. This means that students' mathematical communication skills taught with the NHT are better than using Power point media.

ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the fact that the ability of mathematical communication in Indonesia is low. The models and approaches used in the learning process are one of the supporting factors for learning mathematics in the classroom. This study aimed to analyze SMA 1 Namlea students' mathematical communication skills with realistic mathematics learning assisted by GeoGebra. The research method used is quasi-experimental. WHO researched SMA Negeri 1 Namlea, Buru Regency. The analysis results show that the test instrument is valid and reliable to be used for pretest and posttest. The results showed that the mathematical communication of students who received realistic mathematics learning assisted by GeoGebra was better than students who received realistic mathematics learning without GeoGebra. The results also showed that there was a positive response from students towards learning realistic mathematics with GeoGebra.KEYWORDS: Realistic Mathematics, GeoGebra & Mathematical Communication

Mathematical communication skills of junior secondary school students in coastal area are still considered low due to the lack of contextual problem technique in the teaching of mathematics. The various potencies of the coastal area have been damaged without any concern. It is interesting to investigate the contextual problem in mathematics teaching because it can be identified, required, and related to everyday life. The objective of this study is to enhance mathematical communication skills of junior secondary school students in the coastal area. Using coastal-based contextual teaching and learning (CCTL) can enhance: (1) students’ mathematical communication skills better than conventional teaching and learning (CVTL); and (2) the students’ learning activity, fluency of argument in problem solving process, advanced question skills, and knowledge of coastal area potencies and problems.

Persentase siswa yang tuntas pada tes kemampuan komunikasi matematika mencapai 84,38% dan pada tes prestasi belajar mencapai 81,25%.Kata Kunci: perangkat pembelajaran, pembelajaran berbasis masalah, kemampuan komunikasi matematika, prestasi belajar Developing a Problem-Based Learning Instructional Kit Oriented to Junior High School of Mathematical Communication Skills and Learning Achievement AbstractThe research aims to produce a good quality problem-based learning mathematics instructional kit oriented to mathematical communication skills and learning achievement consisting of lesson plans, student worksheets, communication skill test, and learning achievement test. This study was a research and development. The procedure of this model consisted of three steps are define, design and develop. The result shows that the mathematics instructional kit is valid with a “good” category. Learning kit that has been developed was practically shown by results of practicality votes by teachers in category “good”, “very good” category based on student’s responses and “very good” category based on the observation of learning implementation. Learning kit that has been developed was effective based on student’s learning mastery. The percentage of students who achieved the mastery level in communication test is 84.38% and in learning achievement test is 81.25%.Keywords: instructional kits, problem-based learning, mathematical communication skills, learning achievement

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to determine the mathematical communication skills of class VII students at Muhammadiyah Middle School in Pasir Penyu. This type of research is a Quasi Experiment with the design of Randomized Subject Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The data analysis technique in this test uses the t-test. Based on the calculation of the hypothesis test shows the significant value of the sample class is 0.003 <0.05. Based on these results, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that the mathematical communication skills of students using the think talk write learning model is better than the mathematical communication skills of students using conventional learning models in class VII in the middle school Muhammadiyah Pasir Penyu. Keywords: Mathematical Communication, Think Talk Write

This research is motivated by the low mathematical communication skills of junior high school students in the city of Bandung Regency. This study aims to determine the comparison of the mathematical communication skills of junior high school students in the city of Bandung regency between the learning usingmodels Think Talk Write. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design involving two groups and randomly selected classes, at the beginning and end of the study the two classes were given a test. The population in this study were junior high school students in the city of Bandung Regency, while the sample consisted of two randomly selected classes. Obtained class VII A (experimental class) given themodel Think Talk Write and class VII B (control class) is given a scientific approach. The instrument used was a 5-item mathematical communication ability description test, then theability scores mathematical communication students'were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics using the help of SPSS 21 software. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that there were differences in the achievement of students' mathematical communication skills using models Think Talk Write with students who used a scientific approach.
