<p>Information technology (IT) has provided a new means for online learning outside conventional classrooms. By using IT, blended learning is an approach that gives the best advantage from class and online learning. It is also help the higher education to improve their understanding of how students see blended learning and formulate strategies to successfully implement blended learning. The aim of this research is to examine how students' attitudes towards various aspects of learning which can influence their readiness to participate in blended learning. We provide six aspects of learning and then collect 85 students as respondent. The analysis revealed three main findings. First, the use of technology in education is not an obstacle for students. Second, the ability to follow blended learning are influenced by four things namely attitudes toward online learning, study management, online interaction, and learning flexibility. Third, attitudes toward learning in class have a negative relationship with students' readiness to participate in blended learning. The last, student attitudes towards various aspects of learning can be important in assessing students' readiness for blended learning, which is a prerequisite for the successful application of blended learning.</p><p><em> </em></p><p><strong>Keywords</strong>: Blended learning, industry 4.0, student attitudes</p>

Abstract Using the traditional framework of Pen Pals, Instapals was a project that facilitated 1-to-1 intergenerational relationships through daily exchanges on Instagram for 30 days. Although communication channels have exploded in the past 10 years in large part to social platforms and digital technologies, the diversity of daily social interactions has decreased. More and more, society has become siloed by age, interest, and belief. Building off intergroup contact theory, Instapals was designed to encourage positive intergenerational contact between younger (undergraduate students) and older adults (individuals 65+) and challenge ageist beliefs. Intergenerational social exchanges occurred both on Instagram and during three in-person meetings. Among undergraduate students, attitudes and stereotypes toward older adults and aging were assessed at three timepoints (before meeting their older adult partner, during a mid-point evaluation, and at the end of the project). Quantitative analyses demonstrate a decrease in aging anxiety, a decrease in psychological concerns about the aging process, and a greater endorsement of positive perceptions toward one’s older adult partner. Qualitative analyses of written responses from students (collected before meeting their older adult partner and at the end of the project) revealed that the Instapals project helped students challenge ageist attitudes and stereotypes and was perceived to be a positive experience overall. Implications suggest that positive intergenerational contact can be facilitated and enhanced through the use of technology. Future research should explore whether attitudes, stereotypes, and self-perceptions of aging changed among older adults as well as other technological mechanisms for facilitating intergenerational contact.

Blended cooperative learning applications, which offer education with the opportunities offered by information technologies, have the potential to increase the interaction between learners and support learners to learn information more permanently and to develop positive attitudes towards the lesson. Along with the developing technology, technological tools have been included in education. The effect of the blended learning method, which is a technological innovation, is very important in language teaching. The aim of this study; To determine the opinions of English teachers about blended teaching. Within the scope of this general purpose, the positive aspects and negative aspects of the technological tools, the advantages and disadvantages of the blended learning methods, the effect of this method on the students are determined by the English teachers working in the secondary school. A qualitative research method was used to reach the results of this research. The opinions of 15 English teachers who use the blended learning method and technological tools in their classes were taken. In the selection of the sample, the teachers' use of technology was taken as a basis. The opinions of 15 English teachers who used technological equipment in their classes and participated in the research voluntarily were consulted. The findings were thematised and explained with the content analysis method. It has been concluded that the teachers participating in the research have positive contributions to the learning of technological tools. It is among the results of the study that blended learning has important advantages such as providing instant feedback and continuous feedback to students, taking into account individual differences, increasing the interaction and communication outside the classroom, and increasing the interest in the lesson. The use of technology in the process of learning activities can create a new atmosphere in biology learning, namely direct learning and learning using quipper school online. Learning like this is known as blended learning. The class used for the study was taken through cluster random sampling technique namely X MIPA 2 (experimental class) which implements blended learning and X MIPA 3 (control class) which implements a scientific approach. The implementation of blended learning on the topic of ecology is expected to be effective towards understanding concepts. Blended learning is effective on understanding concepts in ecological discussion because they fulfill three indicators, namely: (1) the average posttest of the experimental class 74.95> the mean posttest of the control class is 64.98, (2) The value of understanding the concepts to the two classes shows a significant difference with the values significance of 0,000<0,05, (3) Mean value of N-Gain experimental class 0.52> N-Gain mean value of control class 0.32. Thus, the implementation of blended learning in the ecology chapter in terms of understanding the concept is said to be effective.

The character of Generation Z which is closely related to the use of technology triggers awareness of educators to facilitate this generation with teaching and learning techniques that are most suitable for them. One of them is by optimalizing the use of gadget or smart phones as learning media for them. Because of this phenomenon, this study was carried out with the aim to find out the use of smartphone application in learning listening acctivities in blended-learning of English general courses followed by first semester students who are included as Z generation. The research also aimed to find out the significance of smartphone application dealing with the improvement of listening skill towards the non-English department students and to figure out the possible obstacles while using the smartphone application. The researcher applied the two selected smartphone applications. In addition to data triangulation, this study also used pre-test and post-test to see the significance. The other instruments were questionnaires and students’ listening material summary. The data were analyzed by mixed-method technique, namely qualitative and quantitative. The results show that the students showed a medium positive response to the use of smartphone applications for learning listening skills in blended-learning class and did not encounter obstacles while using the applications. Moreover, the smartphone applications also give high positive affects showed by a significant improvement in results experienced by non-English students in listening skills. keywords: listening skill, smartphone applications, blended-learning

This study aims to explore vocational high school students’ attitudes toward integrating blended learning into situational writing, and the learning effectiveness of that integration. A total of 84 vocational high students were divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received writing instruction through an online platform, whereas the control group received writing instruction in traditional classrooms. Attitude toward writing and writing performance were assessed before and after the experiment. Also, learning satisfaction survey was conducted afterwards. The findings of this study reveal that results of the post-test total scores and behavior are significantly higher than the pre-test total scores and behavior results for both the experimental and control groups. Particularly, organization, language usage, and the overall performance in the students’ writings are significantly improved. Scores for affection and behavior and total scores for attitude toward writing are significantly higher for the experimental group than for the control group. Both groups show significant satisfaction with the instructional method, interactivity, and total grades.

This blended learning classroom (BLC) case study identifies and describes successful procedures and methodologies that widen the use of online tools in virtual environments. It provides a systematic and organized access to the plethora of free social software available online for the development of collaborative learning activities. The goal of this particular BLC professional development activity was to offer a face-to-face group of English teachers in Venezuela the opportunity to meet members of an international community of practice (CoP) and together review a packaged learning course material online. Blended technology, the mix and match of available tools, served to display the wide use of resources and each person’s skills. By exploring online tools, participants gained an opportunity for learning about both educational theory and the use of technology. The experience described here shows a prototype of future pathways towards educational content use and development.

This paper examines the introduction of blended learning on a part-time higher education programme for mature students. The interpretive work draws on four action research cycles conducted over two years with two student cohorts. Discussion is based on observations, staff and student focus groups and interviews examining the students’ expectations and experiences. The initial focus of the action research was on the introduction of technology into the teaching and learning experience. However, the advantage of an interpretive approach is allowing the findings to determine the course of the research. During the first action research cycles, the focus of the research changed from the use of technology in blended learning to the role of the practitioners involved. The authors advocate the key role of reflective practitioners in facilitating blended learning and suggest that action research is a useful framework.
