Importance of Manpower Training to Enhance Productivity of Staff Performance

The importance of training and development, and the growing complexity of the work environment in present day society, cannot be over emphasized. Training and development ensure that organizational staff possess the knowledge and skills needed to perform their jobs effectively and adapt to ever changing technology. This paper uses desk research to evaluate work carried out related to training and manpower development, especially debate centered on how to improve the quality of staff performance. The study finds that, although a host of workshops, seminars and training are available, few are assessed due to the differences between budgetary provisions and actual funds released, for various years, at both federal and state levels.

This paper shows the results obtained on the basis of research in the Macedonian companies whether they are committed to training and development of its еmployees; is the top management willing to improve the knowledge and skills and to transfer that knowledge onto the employees which is the basis for continuous improvement of quality. The results of this research has shown the need of creating a methodology for organizational education as part of the overall methodology for the design and implementation of TQM (Total Quality Management) in companies that should help them enhance the quality of work and their business performance.

The international tourist hotel industry that focuses on quality of the “tangible” service is a typical high-contact service. To survive in the recent competitive work environment, many enterprises enhance their competitiveness in the process of service employee selection and emphasize the importance of physical attractiveness. This study uses self-confidence as a moderator which is rare relevant empirical evidence to confirm the relationships between physical attractiveness, professional competence and service attitude. The results show that confidence of the service personnel, physical attractiveness and professional competence have positive significant correlation relationships with service attitude. Service personnel's “self-confidence” is the most important variable towards service attitude. The study borrows selection and training functions of human resource management to integrate the knowledge of psychology, marketing management to expand the theory.

Human resource (HR), in governmental organization which is familiar with civil servants, are expected to be able to explode their energy, thoughts, talents, and creativity to achieve organizational goals. Employee work results are the results of quality and quantity of work achieved by an employee in carrying out the duty in accordance with the responsibilities given. To assess the quality of human resources, it can be measured by employee performance. Various problems found in the field showed that the factors such work motivation, discipline, work environment, education and training (DIKLAT) of BAPEDAL Aceh Province employees need to be further improved so that overall employee performance becomes better, therefore further function and the duty of BAPEDAL can be carried out based on the objectives expected by the agency. This research was conducted for the Influence of Motivation, Discipline, Work Environment, Education and workshop towards the Performance of Civil Servants of the Environmental Impact Management Agency (Bapedal) of Aceh Province. The results of the study provedthat simultaneously work motivation, work discipline, work environment and training significantly influence Beta Y (civil servants’performance)

The Journal of Training and Development has come up with issue 5, Volume 5 with the objectives of sharing the recent research findings in the field of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in research, training and development. This publication has a collection of valuable articles from TVET experts, scholars and educationalist. This training and development journals are considered to be valuable resources for the scholars, educationist and TVET experts and stakeholders.   This issue consists of seven articles on different aspects of Training and Development. The article by Durga prasad Baral describe informal skills learning places in Nepal and tries to provides a typology that helps to understand the informal skills learning places and their formality. This paper analyses the existing legal frameworks and literature from domestic cultural practices adapting qualitative approach of inquiry. The paper concludes that the typology provides a sound conceptual basis for the identification of main categories and sub-categories of informal skills learning places in Nepal.   The paper by Manoj Sharma Neuane scrutinizes the access and relevancy of presently available long term TVET programs and identify its gap with the market demand. The paper is the quantitative analysis of micro data is also adopted as a major basis and document review was also carried out while preparing the paper. The analysis shows that health-related programs are over-accessed while a clear gap is observed in the supply mechanism of TVET in the tourism and agricultural sectors. The paper revealed to promote agriculture and tourism sectors to promote TEVT programs both in quality and quantity in order to alleviate existing mismatch between demand and supply.   The article by Kushmakar Bhatta highlight the positive effects that contributed by the Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs in socio-economic development of the disadvantaged and unemployed population of Nepal.   The primary data collected from   questionnaire and some field survey from the purposively sampled respondents- 405 VET graduates who after training are employed in their occupational sector. The study revealed that VET plays constructive role in employment and economic growth. However, it concludes with the recommendation that post training support to the participants is a must for functional VET and getting sustainable and decent employment in the labor market.   survey for Vocational Education and Training (VET) graduates trained from different institutions purposively selected from the list of the VET graduates and interview questionnaires were sent to them. Apart from the questionnaire, some field survey was also administered for the qualitative data on role played by VET in employment, income and socio-economic development.         The article by Surya Prasad Newpane discuss the stories of women who uses their vocational skills to run a homestay in their community which is run by the Tharu and Bote of Nawalparasi. The qualitative approach was applied for carrying out this research and Amaltari homestay was selected as the research site. The stories of these women reveal that they have been using their skills in the area of hospitality, cooking traditional foods and crafting bamboo and wooden goods related skills  to serve guest. Despite of many barrier homestay contributed to the indigenous practice and supportive in enriching the Tharu and Bote women socially and culturally by using the vocational skills.  The article by Narbikram Thapa assess the performance of private paravets in terms of quality of technical services. The qualitative and quantitative methods were adopted during field study where questionnaire survey, focus group discussion, direct field observation, force field analysis and score ranking was implemented. He concludes that the quality of the Private Paravets have found to be effective in terms of relevance, appropriateness, targeting, and sustainability issues. Project activities associated with Private Paravets promotion were observed appropriate in line with the needs and priorities of rural people of Nepal.   Finally, the editorial team would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the authors who have contributed by providing their relevant and valuable creations. Purpose: Although retention of employees has become hot topic in this career turbulent era, practically no empirical research is carried out in the fast growing ceramic sector till now and this research fills the gap in the literature. The literatures surveys reported that organization commitment is an important determinant of retention and work environment, supervisor support and training and development are the most relevant antecedents increasing commitment towards organization. This paper examines the impact of the above factors over organization commitment and explores the effects of organization commitment on retention, and verifies the mediating effect of organization commitment on the relationship between proposed factors and retention.Design/methodology/approach: A survey was completed by 416 employees working in five ceramic sanitary ware factories located at different places in India. Questionnaire consisting of items adopted from previous researches were used to collect data. The selection of respondents was based on the simple random sampling.Findings: Findings reveals that organization commitment influences retention and all the above factors enhances it. Moreover organization commitment partially mediates the relationship between proposed factors and retention. However multiple regression analysis indicated that training and development did not have any notable   influence on retention.Limitations: This study was conducted in a particular country and also in a particular sector of manufacturing industry, which limits generalization .Possibility of bias towards their organization and assumption that respondents know about their organization are other limitations.Implications: This paper offers recommendations to HR(Human resource) managers that they should extend their support to work environment, supervisor support and training and development in order to generate better relationship with employees and to reduce their likelihood of leaving the company.Originality/value: This article makes significant contribution to most turnover prone Indian environment, highlighting the important factors to be given priority for employee’s retention.

Sejak tahun 2016, Universitas Brawijaya memperoleh mandat dari Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan untuk mengelola hutan seluas 544 ha di lereng Gunung Arjuno menjadi hutan Pendidikan dan Pelatihan, yang diberi nama UB Forest. Di dalam UB forest terdapat petani penggarap yang menanam kopi dibawah tegakan pinus. Setiap tahun, produksi kopi di UB Forest mencapai 600 kg ha-1, dengan potensi limbah sisa panen kulit kopi antara 50–60%. Limbah sisa panen kulit kopi tersebut hanya ditumpuk saja dan berpotensi menimbulkan pencemaran. Kegiatan ini ditujukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kelompok tani hutan UB Forest di dalam mengolah sisa panen kulit kopi menjadi pupuk kompos dan pupuk organik granul (POG). Kegiatan yang dilakukan meliputi: 1) Penyuluhan; 2) Pembuatan rumah produksi kompos; 3) Introduksi mesin granulator; 4) Pelatihan pembuatan kompos dan POG; 5) Pengemasan produk, dan 6) analisa kualitas kompos dari kulit kopi. Hasil kegiatan meliputi 1) tersedianya rumah produksi pupuk organik granul beserta alat pembuat pupuk organik granule (granulator); 2) 85% dari petani hutan peserta penyuluhan dan pelatihan mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan di dalam mengolah sisa panen kulit kopi menjadi kompos dan pupuk organik granul; 3) kelompok tani hutan memiliki modul dan SOP pembuatan kompos dan pupuk organik granul.[Since 2016, Brawijaya University received a mandate from the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry to manage 544 hectares (ha) of forest, located in the slopes of Mount Arjuno, as a forest for Education and Training, which is named UB Forest. In UB forest, there are forest farmer who planted coffee under the pine trees. Every year, coffee production in UB Forest reaches 600 kg ha-1, with 50-60% of them is coffee peel. The waste of the remaining coffee peel is only stacked and potentially cause pollution. This activity is aimed to increase the knowledge and skills of forest farmer groups (UB Forest) in processing the remaining coffee peel into compost and granular organic fertilizer (POG). The activities included: 1) Counseling; 2) Creating compost production houses; 3) Introducing of granulator machines; 4) Training in composting and POG; 5) Product packaging, and 6) analysis of the quality of compost. The results of the activities included: 1) the availability of houses for the production of compost and POG along with the tools for processing granule organic fertilizers (granulators); 2) 85% of forest farmers participating in counseling and training experience increased knowledge and skills in processing the remaining coffee peel into compost and granule organic fertilizer; 3) forest farmer groups have modules and SOPs for composting and granule organic fertilizer.]

Inclusive children or children with special needs are those who have abnormalities in the process of growth or development; which can be physical, mental-intellectual, social, or emotional. The World Health Organization predicts that around 7% of the world's total children population is inclusive children. Exercise that are adapted and modified according to their needs, the type of abnormality and the ability of inclusive children are able to improve motor and sensory abilities so that they will improve their quality of life. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of parents with inclusive children in implementing adaptive exercise for their children. The method used was seminar and training. Activity evaluation was carried out using questionnaire to observe the increase of knowledge. This activity was attended by 31 parents and 31 inclusive children, with the highest parents’ age range in 31-40 years, which is mothers 38.7%; 41.9% father. The age of expecting mothers of inclusive children mostly ranges from 31-40 years (35.5%). Increased knowledge about child development was 31% (pretest 68, posttest 91.8) and increased knowledge about adaptive sports was 72.18% (pretest 49.6, posttest 85.4).abstrakAnak Berkebutuhan Khusus (ABK) adalah anak yang dalam proses pertumbuhan atau perkembangannya mengalami kelainan atau penyimpangan; yang bisa berupa fisik, mental-intelektual, sosial, atau emosionalnya. Organisasi kesehatan dunia memprediksi sekitar 7% dari keseluruhan populasi anak dunia merupakan ABK. Olahraga yang diadaptasi dan dimodifikas sesuai dengan kebutuhan, jenis kelainan dan tingkat kemampuan ABK mampu memperbaiki kemampuan motoris dan sensoris sehingga akan meningkatkan kualitas hidupnya. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan orang tua ABK dalam melatih olahraga adaptif buat anak-anaknya. Metode yang digunakan adalah seminar dan pelatihan. Evaluasi keberhasilan kegiatan dilakukan dengan kuesioner untuk melihat peningkatan pengetahuan. Kegiatan dihadiri oleh 31 orang tua dan 31 ABK, dengan rentang usia orang tua terbanyak di 31-40 tahun yaitu ibu 38,7%; ayah 41,9%. Usia ibu mengandung ABK terbanyak di rentang 31-40 tahun (35,5%).  Peningkatan pengetahuan pada materi tumbuh kembang anak sebesar 31% (pretest 68, posttest 91,8) dan peningkatan pengetahuan materi olahraga adaptif sebesar 72,18% (pretest 49,6, posttest 85,4).

                       ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to find out and analyze the strategy of increasing HR competency in the Rural Credit Banks (BPR) of Denpasar City. This study used qualitative research methods. The collection technique used in this study was using the method of interview, observation, and documentation study. Data analysis in this study uses data reduction, data display, and data conclusion drawing/ verification. The results of this study indicate that the strategy of improving HR competencies and the quality of work of each employee can be obtained from the results of the implementation of education and training (training). This can be assessed from changes in attitudes of each employee, knowledge and skills of employees, and the emergence of new innovations that are useful for improving HR competencies, the motivations given by superiors at PT. BPR Bali Dananiaga which plays an important and maximum role in providing the best experience, so that it will improve the performance of employees in the agency. This research can be useful for the leadership of PT. BPR Bali Dananiaga in decision making and also as an important reference to choose the type of education and training (training) that is needed by employees so that what is obtained from the results of the implementation of education and training (training) can be applied in their respective workplaces.
