Perceptions of Implementing Flipped Classroom in Primary Schools during the Covid-19 Pandemic The flipped classroom learning model is a reversal of traditional learning procedures, where what is usually done in class in traditional learning is carried out at home in a flipped classroom. During the current Covid-19 pandemic, many elementary schools are holding lessons using this model. However, the perceptions of teachers, parents, and students have not been well disclosed regarding this learning model. Therefore, this research aims to determine the perceptions of teachers, parents, and students regarding online learning using the flipped classroom model during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method applied in this study uses a qualitative approach. The instrument used in this study was an interview guide that was validated using expert judgment procedures. Interviews were then submitted to the subjects, which included: teachers, parents, and students at SDN Margoyasan (3 teachers, 3 parents, and 2 students), Tukangan Elementary School (2 teachers, 2 parents, and 2 students), SDN Puro Pakualaman (4 teachers, 4 parents and 2 students), and SD Islamiyah Pakualaman (3 teachers, 3 parents, and 2 students). The collected data were analyzed qualitatively to confirm the research findings. The results showed that the perceptions of teachers, parents, and students towards online learning using the flipped classroom method greatly supported the student learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic. Even so, apart from finding positive perceptions of the subject, technical obstacles were also found due to the lack of individual facilities owned by students.

In the Covid-19 pandemic, distance learning is used as a method of teaching rather than learning methodologies. This research aims to investigate the implementation of distance learning through WhatsApp Group (WAG) at Private Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Bambel Kutacane, Southeast Aceh. This research uses a qualitative approach and gathered data by conducting in-depth interviews and documentation studies (field studies). The result of the research showed that distance learning carried out by madrasah using WAG is practised in three aspects, namely (1) learning, (2) assignment and (3) assessment. Even so, socialisation and debriefing are still needed for teachers to operate online learning effectively and efficiently, both through training organised by external and internal madrasas as well as the willingness of teachers to learn self-taught.

The importance of active learning and higher order thinking skills among students at higher learning institutions have steered lecturers to employ the flipped classroom approach in their classes. The move is hoped to assist students to become active recipients of knowledge and break away from the traditional learning method where knowledge is only imparted by lecturers. A study was conducted to investigate: (1) the TESL students’ ability to research and present their findings related to a teaching method via group posters when the flipped classroom approach is utilized in their Methodology in TESL 1 subject, and (2) their views on the feasibility of using flipped classroom approach for other TESL subjects. This study had adopted the mixed method approach in which an interview guide was used to address the first research question and a questionnaire was used to address the second research question. From the interview, it is found that majority of the TESL students had managed to research the teaching method assigned to them, had understood what they were reading, and were able to present the teaching method in the form of a poster. From the questionnaire data, it was found that majority of the TESL students agreed the flipped classroom approach can be implemented for other TESL subjects although a few of them felt that it might only be suitable for certain topics or subtopics as they were afraid of inaccurate knowledge being transferred if there is no proper guidance from the lecturer. Nevertheless, for this study, it can be concluded that the flipped classroom approach had enhanced the students’ understanding of the given topic, and it is feasible for other TESL subjects.

The purpose of this study is to describea how the teacher's perception of the application of Edmodo as a tool for learning activities in Al-Falah Islamic Elementary School Jambi. This research is a study that uses a qualitative approach to the type of phenomenological research. Researchers chose a qualitative approach to the type of phenomenological research because researchers wanted to examine according to phenomena related to teacher perceptions of the application of edmodo as a learning aid in the Al-Falah Islamic Elementary School in Jambi. The informants of this study were nine Al-Falah Jambi Islamic elementary school teachers. Researchers took the "purposive sampling" sampling technique by assigning informants with special characteristics, namely teachers who knew and had used the Edmodo application as a medium or a tool in learning in the network. Data collection techniques used by researchers are questionnaires and interviews. The researcher chose technique triangulation as a test of the validity of the data. By using triangulation techniques, the researchers re-check the data from the same source with different techniques to conduct data analysis. The data obtained were analyzed using the Miles Huberman interactive model which included: data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of this study indicate that the perception of teachers has a percentage of 84.86% and can be categorized as perceptions that strongly agree with the application of Edmodo as a tool for learning activities in primary schools. The teachers felt helped in the learning process using the edmodo application. With the diversity of features found in the Edmodo application, teachers can use it in online learning. The steps of learning to use the edmodo application have not been eliminated or even almost refined so that the teacher feels that the edmodo application is specifically designed for learning in the network. Just as in direct learning there are materials that can be read in the library, assignments, quizzes, correcting students' assignments and even awards given to students. The teacher is also more free because it can be done anytime and anywhere. Teachers' perceptions of the application of Edmodo regarding the constraints are only few namely regarding the programming language. As for the speed of access because online learning all depends on the network, if the network is good the learning will run smoothly. Comfort in learning using the Edmodo application is also felt by the teachers. The teachers have a desire to continue to access Edmodo as a tool for learning activities by adjusting to the needs and learning materials.
