Ranking of Recompenses Apprehended through Proficient Inventory Management and Control in Cement Industry

The present research highlights some of the important benefits that proper inventory management assures, through the assistance of primary data collected from eight small scale cement firms operating in SIDCO & SICOP, under DIC (District Industries Center) in District Udhampur of Jammu & Kashmir State. The main recompenses apprehended were Assists in cost reduction, Satisfied customers, Liaison with market, and Builds goodwill. The results of the ranking table revealed that the variable Assists in cost reduction scores highest mean rank as it accrued to be the main benefit derived by the cements industry. The variable Satisfied customers received second rank followed by Liaison with market with rank three due to larger market distances and erratic production schedule. The variable Builds goodwill received the fourth rank.

There are many approaches to enhance the overall performance of the production systems. But these approaches are inclined towards intense use of resources and have caused huge pressure on limited resources. Many scholars suggest waste management as an alternative and complimentary approach to tackle this problem. This approach is in nascent stage and lacks standard definitions, practices and tools. The research is taken up in Dharwad District (Karnataka) to know which major factors contribute significantly for waste generation in small scale units and to test whether wastivity can be used to compare the systems to evaluate their performance. The study found that lack of Production Planning and Control contributes maximum toward waste generation followed by Human Resource practices and Inventory Management. Also, it was found that wastivity can be used as a measure to compare production units as it is unit less and is independent of category of production system. There is a further scope to quantify the contribution of each sub systems towards waste generation to develop larger control mechanisms like Total Waste Management System.

Kesenjangan gender atau perbedaan peran laki-laki dan perempuan terhadap akses dan kontrol dalam pengambilan keputusan pada aktivitas perikanan skala kecil di Kabupaten Natuna masih tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesenjangan gender pada pemanfaatan perikanan skala kecil di Kabupaten Natuna; dan merumuskan strategi untuk mencapai kesetaraan gender. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer yang terpilah gender. Data primer dikumpulkan pada bulan Agustus 2019 terhadap 52 responden nelayan penangkap ikan skala kecil di 5 (lima) kecamatan di Pulau Bunguran – Kabupaten Natuna. Data diolah dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan software excel untuk memperoleh persentase tiga keputusan responden pada 5 kecamatan tersebut. Hasil analisis menunjukkan pengambilan keputusan pada perikanan skala kecil di Kabupaten Natuna masih didominasi oleh laki-laki. Kesenjangan gender terjadi pada aktivitas persiapan penangkapan ikan, kegiatan penangkapan ikan di laut, paska panen (penangkapan) ikan. Oleh karena itu, Pemerintah Daerah Kabupaten Natuna perlu merancang program stimulasi ekonomi untuk membuka lapangan kerja bagi perempuan dan memberi peluang partisipasi terhadap istri nelayan dalam pengambilan keputusan, dengan melibatkannya dalam kegiatan pelelangan ikan di tempat pelelangan ikan (TPI) atau pengurus armada penangkapan ikan. Title: Gender Gap of Small Scale Fisheries Utilization in Natuna Regency The gender gap or the different role of access and control among men and women on the decision making process in small scale fishery activities in Natuna is remain high. The purpose of this research is to analyze the gender gap in small-scale fisheries utilization and to provide the strategy to achieve gender equality. Gender disaggregated primary data were collected in August 2019 from 52 respondents of the small scale fishermen in 5 sub regency in the Bungguran Island of Natuna Regency. The data were processed using excel software to find out the percentage of 3 reasons for respondent participation. The findings shows that decision maker is dominated by fishermen. The gender gap occurred in preparation process of the fishing activities, fishing activities, and post fishing activities. Therefore, government of Natuna Regency must prepare the economic stimulus program for providing labor opportunities for women, encourage the participation of the fishermen’s wife in decision making process by involving them in fish auction activity or as manager of fishing fleets.

This study examines inventory management and financial performance of Small Scale Apicultural Enterprises in Cameroon, the case of Oku Honey Cooperative Society Limited (OHCSL). The independent variable (Inventory management) proxy by raw materials inventory, work-in-progress inventory, finished products inventory, and packaging material inventory was regressed against dependent variable (financial performance) proxy by gross profit margin. Data used in this study cover the period 1988-2017. The primary data was collected using interviews, structured and semi- structured questionnaires administered to the management staff of the organization. Using magazines, internship reports and annual reports of the enterprise, secondary data was collected. Using multiple regression analysis, the study established that a positive relationship exist between the independent (inventory management) and dependent variables (financial performance) at OHCSL. However, it was uncovered that holding raw material inventory contributed minimal on the financial performance of OHCSL. This was attributed to the fact that honey is processed within 24hours postharvest and hence the cooperative avoids holding raw material inventory. Consequently, the study recommended improvement in inventory management practices including improving staff capacity at the cooperative.

Rice production and processing over the years has been on an increase with more small holders entering the business. This study on profitability of processing and marketing of small scale rice processors had as objective to analyse the profitability levels of rice processing and marketing by small scale processors, determine the value added to the commodity at each stage  and also identify the constraints faced by these processors. The study used primary data collected using well-structured questionnaire from millers only, miller traders for white/parboiled rice through a multistage sampling technique. Results showed that the net processing income (3,151,201), value added (8,147,456) and efficiency (138) for miller-traders of white rice was highest, followed by miller-traders for parboiled rice and lastly millers only. Results further showed that millers only had Benefit/cost ratio of 0.4 indicating that milling only is not profitable due to small quantities milled, and high fixed cost. Miller-traders for parboiled rice had a benefit/cost ratio of 2.3 implying that their venture is most profitable. Based on the results, it was recommended that millers only should purchase large quantities of paddy to enable them reduce the overhead cost. Also the services of parboilers should reflect in the sales price of parboiled rice so that the parboiling services can be paid for.

This study aims to determine the management and control system of trade receivables on the effectiveness of the cash flow company’s at PT. Enseval Putera Megatrading, Tbk. The data source used in this study is the primary data source, obtained directly from the company. The analytical method used for testing the management and control system of receivables on the effectiveness of cash flow is the analysis of financial ratios. In this study, the data used for analysis are qualitative data analysis and financial ratio analysis, namely the activity ratio (RTO, ACP, Arrears Ratio, and Billing Ratio). The results showed that (1) RTO of PT. Enseval Putera Megatrading, the highest rate in 2017 was 189 times, while the lowest RTO was in 2015 which was 115 times. This shows the normal level of turnover. The faster the payment terms, the better for the company, because the faster the working capital embedded in receivables returns to capital or cash, which means the higher the receivables turnover. (2) ACP or the average age of collection of receivables applied by companies, especially the value in 2017 is 2 days. This means that the company has been effective in managing its accounts receivable because the standard for collecting receivables set by the company is the repayment limit or due date no later than 7 (seven) to 90 (Ninety) calendar days from the billing statement received by the service user. (3) The Arrears Ratio, namely from 2014-2018, the largest was only 1.11%. This shows that the lower the arrears ratio, the better for the company, which means the company is able to handle its receivables properly. (4) Billing Ratio shows that from 2014-2018 the lowest that is 98.88% shows the greater the value of collectible receivables means the greater the percentage value of the collection ratio so that the better for the company because of the greater return on corporate capital. Then it can be concluded that the Billing Ratio of PT. Enseval Putera Megatrading, it's not working effectively.

In developing countries, the role of women in the business sector is continuously improving. As a result, female enterprises have also been encouraged in Pakistan. This study is based on life cycle development phases from which women-owned enterprises have to go through in order to become successful. As a primary data source, face-to-face interviews with owners of successful women-owned enterprises were preferred. The data collection process was divided into two phases i.e. Phase-I and Phase-II. After data collection, qualitative analysis has been performed using NVIVO. Findings provide both generic and specific factors involved in life cycle development of women-owned enterprises. This study provides a detailed view of life cycle development model followed by successful women enterprises. The outcome of this research work is a theoretical finding which can be utilized by entrepreneurs owning small scale enterprises to improve their level of performance. Findings can also be helpful for potentially talented women interested in setting up their own business.

The term «precision forestry» was first introduced and discussed at a conference in 2001. The aims of this paper are to explore the scientific roots of the precision concept, define «precision forestry», and sketch the challenges that the implementation of this new concept may present to practitioners, educators, and researchers. The term «precision» does not mean accuracy on a small scale, but instead refers to the concurrent coordination and control of processes at spatial scales between 1 m and 100 km. Precision strives for an automatic control of processes. Precision land use differs from precision engineering by the requirements of gathering,storing and managing spatio-temporal variability of site and vegetation parameters. Practitioners will be facing the challenge of designing holistic, standardized business processes that are valid for whole networks of firms,and that follow available standards (e.g., SCOR, WoodX). There is a need to educate and train forestry professionals in the areas of business process re-engineering, computer supported management of business transactions,methods of remote sensing, sensor technology and control theory. Researchers will face the challenge of integrating plant physiology, soil physics and production sciences and solving the supply chain coordination problem (SCCP).

The paper studies the Impact of Yoga to Financial benefits in MSME Organizations in Odisha in light of three different perspectives of Internal Control, Inventory management and Cash Flow. The primary data was collected from a sample of 155 high profile finance executives working in the MSME sector. Ranking Table and Regression Analysis Methodology was used to derive meaningful conclusions. The research takes initiative to transform the effectiveness of Yoga into improved financial health for the Organization. The observation from the study interprets a positive impact of Yoga on good financial health of Organization.

The new artificial pancreas system includes a body-attached blood glucose sensor that tracks glucose levels, a worn insulin infusion pump that communicates with the sensor, and features new software that integrates the two systems. The artificial pancreas is purportedly revolutionary because of its closed-loop design, which means that the machine can give insulin without direct patient intervention. It can read a blood sugar and administer insulin based on an algorithm. But, the hardware for the corporate artificial pancreas is expensive and its software code is closed-access. Yet, well-educated, tech-savvy diabetics have been fashioning their own fully automated do-it-yourself (DIY) artificial pancreases for years, relying on small-scale manufacturing, open-source software, and inventive repurposing of corporate hardware. In this chapter, we trace the corporate and DIY artificial pancreases as they grapple with issues of design and accessibility in a content where not everyone can become a diabetic cyborg. The corporate artificial pancreas offers the cyborg low levels of agency and no ownership and control over his or her own data; it also requires access to health insurance in order to procure and use the technology. The DIY artificial pancreas offers patients a more robust of agency but also requires high levels of intellectual capital to hack the devices and make the system work safely. We argue that efforts to increase agency, radically democratize biotechnology, and expand information ownership in the DIY movement are characterized by ideologies and social inequalities that also define corporate pathways.
