Abstract: E-commerce is a boom in the modern business. E-commerce means electronic commerce. E- commerce (Electronic commerce) involves buying and selling of goods and services, or the transmitting of funds or data, over an electronic network, predominantly the Internet. E-commerce (Electronic commerce) is a paradigm shift influencing both marketers and the customers. Rather e-commerce is more than just another way to boost the existing business practices. It is leading a complete change in traditional way of doing business. This significant change in business model is witnessing a tremendous growth around the globe and India is not an exception. A massive internet penetration has added to growth of E-commerce and more particularly start-ups have been increasingly using this option as a differentiating business model. Moreover, E-Commerce has significant influences on the environment. Although the model is highly used in current business scenario but the option has not been explored at its fullest. The current research has been undertaken to describe the scenario of E-Commerce, analyze the trends of E-Commerce. E-commerce is the modern business practice. It includes buying and selling of goods and services, or the transmitting of funds, over the Internet Nowadays E-commerce (Electronic commerce) is the standard for both marketers and the customers making them go online across the world. E-commerce is just another way to boost the existing business practices for scalability. It is resulting in a complete change in the traditional way of doing business. A massive internet consumption has added to growth of E-commerce and more particularly start-ups have been increasingly using this option as a differentiating business model. The purpose of the article is to propose a recommendation on the formation of a business model effective in modern conditions. Methods of system and factor analysis, economic and mathematical modeling, grouping, study and synthesis of information and assessment were applied. The essence and content of modern business models were analyzed from the point of view of achieving the commercial success of the organization, including using the example of Tinkoff JSC. It was concluded that the success of the organization at the current stage of business development depends on the development and implementation of new products and processes in the production and management of the organization. In the field of management, this idea is manifested in different forms of organizing business processes, for example, in business groups, business models.

Business models have made a breakthrough both in the academic and in business community in the area business development. Old fashioned business plans are in many cases considered as a waste of time and resources. Particularly start-ups and SMEs have a great potential to take advantage of business model approach which allows lean and agile product and service development. However, the existing widely used business model frameworks are lacking the new service logic orientation. They mostly see the world in terms of goods logic. Since all sizes of businesses in all industries are increasingly adopting the service logic or service-dominant logic, there was a clear need to develop a new service logic based business model framework. Based on an extensive empirical study with both practitioners and academics, a new Service Logic Business Model Canvas was developed to fill this need. This chapter explains the theoretical foundations of this framework in SME and start-up context, as well as the framework itself and its application.

This research explores the potential of cash waqf in generating capital revenue in carrying out social-based investment through social enterprises. Looking closely into two different concepts (i.e., social enterprises and waqf), this research appreciates the understanding on the modern business model of social enterprise and the innovative version of religious social finance (i.e., cash waqf). Depending on qualitative methodology and analytical review, the discussion of this research is developed. These approaches are considered suitable and pragmatic for the suggested business model of social enterprise. Here, an innovative business model with a combination of social enterprise operation and cash waqf is introduced. It has the potential to stimulate further research to innovate religious social finance instruments to current and modern business models. This research proposes a business model of social enterprise that combines cash waqf in its operation for sake of generating capital revenue. Simultaneously, such a business model has the potential to expand the cash waqf in meeting social objectives of the social enterprise. As research findings, it is found that even though waqf is derived from a religious traditional philanthropic instrument, its innovative version of cash waqf can be utilised in generating capital revenue for social enterprises. As long as the required principles of cash waqf as provided under Islamic law is fulfilled, a combination of cash waqf in the operation of social enterprise can be carried out.

Purpose – Technological advances and new business models have contributed to the usage of self-service technology (SST) by firms. As SST continues to create organizational efficiencies, firms have jumped on the bandwagon without considering their own readiness to use SST. To date, there has been no systematic attempt to develop a valid scale of firm SST readiness and assess its influence on firm performance. The purpose of this paper is to present and validate a multidimensional firm SST readiness scale. Design/methodology/approach – A series of studies was conducted for the development and validation of the firm SST readiness scale. Study 1 included generating items from semi-structured interviews with managers and an extensive literature review. Study 2 comprised item reduction and identifying the dimensionality of the scale through exploratory factor analysis (n=177 participants from service organizations). The reliability and validity of the scale were tested in Study 3 by performing confirmatory factor analysis using data obtained from managers of service organizations in the USA (n=257). Study 4 measured the predictive validity of the firm SST readiness instrument using several structural models. Findings – This paper proposes a new multidimensional construct labelled “firm SST readiness”, consisting of four dimensions: managerial acquiescence, customer alignment, employee engagement, and channel integration. The predictive validity of the new scale on two key firm outcome variables: customer value and firm performance is also demonstrated. Originality/value – This is the first study to provide a comprehensive, psychometrically sound, and operationally valid measure of firm SST readiness.

Rapid technological advancement in the banking environment drives Sri Lankan banks to adopt self-service technologies to deliver services via SMS banking, Internet banking and telephone banking facilities, Automated Teller Machines (ATM) etc. This study explored the perceived quality of the self-service technology of these services and its effect on customer satisfaction. The literature survey and in depth interviews helped to formulate quality dimensions: security, efficiency, eases of use, reliability and convenience and those dimensions were assessed through a questionnaire. This study surveyed 215 customers from branches of six dominating commercial banks located in Western Province of Sri Lanka. Data were subjected to Principal Component Analysis and retained factors were regressed using multiple regressions to assess the impact of quality dimensions on customer satisfaction. The results revealed that reliability and convenience have positive impacts on customer satisfaction but efficiency has a negative effect.

In an effort to encourage MSMEs, especially BUMDes Bhakti, the main village of Cilembu, it is necessary to develop a new business model, namely by utilizing opportunities by implementing the digital economy so that BUMDes business activities can operate properly and can follow business developments, so that the purpose of bumdes can be achieved, namely improving services to the community and empowering villages as autonomous regions with regard to productive efforts and improving business. emandirian and village capacity in strengthening the economy. This research aims to find out the potential and business barriers of BUMDes Bhakti Utama, knowing the efforts of BUMDes Bhakti Utama Cilembu in reviving bumdes business that is currently vacuum and to formulate a sharing economy and gig economy model so that the right business model is found for BUMDes, especially BUMDes Bhakti Utama that can be developed and operate in Cilembu Village so that it has a business development strategy that is in accordance with current conditions.  Thus, this study has a contribution, both in the development of theory and in the business practices of sharing economy and gig economy in efforts to empower the village economy. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive analysis, which is presented in the form of drawings, tables and descriptions. This descriptive analysis method is processed based on elements of the Business Model Canvas and conducted an analysis of the potential and obstacles of businesses and then analyzed based on the sharing economy and gig economy approach to get the sharing economy and gig economy model. Furthermore, SWOT and PESTEL analysis is carried out to assess the extent to which new business models can be used so that alternative strategies / efforts can be formulated.

Modern business models describe the rules of activities on the market and include the elements of the creation of values for their clients. In the literature, there are examples of business models referring to large enterprises, which indicate key areas and conditions of their operation. Development of entrepreneurship in SMEs, especially in microenterprises is an aim of the Horizon 2020 Programme. Significant participation of SMEs in the economy and problems of entrepreneurship of microenterprises should be attractive for researchers. The goal of the article is the presentation of a business model developed for micro enterprises, based on knowledge as the primary resource. The report presents own researches conducted in the years 2015–2016 in microenterprises from the Mazowieckie, Łódzkie and Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeships.
