Linguists consider that the study of derivatives is an important subject in the study of Arabic language because it has characteristics that differ from other languages in the world. Arabic language teaching in Indonesia is widespread, this study has not been a top place among Arab students. Starting from this point of views, in this article the researcher would like to contribute the share in this study, especially on the words derivatives in Surat Al-Tarik, it becomes from this point of view, a common derivative study in the hands of Arab students as is commonly known. The researcher used qualitative research in his research, which the type of qualitative desk study is the descriptive method, and the researcher used the method of content analysis to get access to the information. The result of this research is that the derivatives names in this surah are ha>fiz{, da>fiq, qa>dir, na>s}ir, and al-ka>firi>n.

Through story, one comes to see an interplay between one's own experiences, one's own desires and one's community — I seek to focus that potential into an embodied pedagogy that highlights power and, as a result, holds all of us accountable for our own situated-ness in systems of power in ways that grant us potential places from which to enact change. Key in this discussion is a careful analytical point of view for seeing the world and a set of practices that work to imagine new ways of talking back.

The paper discusses possibilities and ways of studying concepts in teaching foreign languages to students-interpreters. The author notes that modern didactic research has interdisciplinary nature, analyzes the theory of the concept from the point of view of linguistics, cultural studies and psycholinguistics. The author also notes the fact of creation of linguo-conceptodidactics as a new scientific direction. The paper presents a linguodidactic understanding of the concept, analyzes its structure and semantic content. The author describes in detail the process of foreign language concepts acquisition and presents it as a sequence of several stages. The acquisition of foreign language concepts is associated with the development of concept competence. The paper notes that the acquisition of foreign language concepts should go in parallel with the acquisition of foreign language lexis. In addition, it is necessary to use authentic materials in teaching foreign languages that allows forming a conceptual picture of the world of native speakers. Acquisition of foreign language concepts is especially important for students-interpreters who study several foreign languages and are faced with the problem of translating foreign concepts and phenomena of foreign language reality. The paper presents how conceptuality can be realized in teaching foreign languages. The author gives a practical example of studying the English concept Travel, offers examples of exercises and tasks for mastering it, as well as mnemonic techniques for memorizing lexemes that represent the concept. In the paper is stressed, that the concepts should be included in the content of foreign language teaching to students-interpreters. This contributes to the development of correct ideas about foreign language reality, understanding the facts of the native and foreign language culture, i.e. cultural reflection development.

ABSTRACTThe research is aimed at describing the use of metaphors and finding out its implications in the song lyrics of Ebiet G. Ade from the album of Perjalanan to semantic learning of Indonesian language. The research uses analytical descriptive method with structuralism and propositional approaches. The technique of data collection is done by using note taking. The data of metaphor is analyzed using content analysis. The result shows that the album of Perjalanan from Ebiet G. Ade, consisting of nine songs, has 40 metaphors used to describe the thought and meaning about love among humans and their life covering happiness, sadness, and imagination. The use of metaphors is also to describe humans, life, feelings, suffering, sadness, and anxiety. Metaphors are also used for describing natural phenomena, societys life, social relations among humans and the description of the world. The description of humans and God relationship is also there, using complex metaphors. The analysis of metaphors use in the song lyrics of Ebiet in the album of Perjalanan can improve students vocabulary enrichment and its meaning. <p><em>Hadith Arba’in</em> is a collection of the selected 42 hadiths. The name of <em>Arba’in</em> is taken from the amount of hadiths included in the book which is 42 hadiths. The book of <em>hadith Arba’inis</em> considered to be necessarily studied because this book contains the collection of the well know hadiths in islamic community awund the world. This book contains the main hadith that are very important in islamic study, started with hadith about the intention to start doing something, then followed with the basic <em>aqidah, syari’ah, akhlak</em>, and prophet’s advice. This research specifically studies the hadiths from 31-40 because they contain suggestion, forbiddence, excellence, and some of advices about islam. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The method used is (equal/comparison) method. The data in this research are grammatical cohesion marker in the form of pronoun in Arabic language and ideological translation in the 31-40 text of <em>hadith Arba’in</em> written by Ibnu Daqiq Al ‘ied and translated by Muhammad Thalib. The data collection is done by taking the sample or called technique sampling. Technique of presenting data is presented by words and table of data to describe the analysis result. This reaserch investigates cohesion, variasion of translation technique, translation method, and ideological translation used by the translator in translating the expressions in the hadith.</p><strong>Keywords</strong>: <em>hadith Arba’in</em>, cohesion, technique, method, ideology.

This study aims to investigate and to describe the forms of address in family in Acehnese language that are used by Acehnese people. This study is qualitative research and descriptive method is used. This research is done by three stages of activity. The three of activities are data provision, data analysis, and result of research. Techniques that were used in data collecting of the forms of address in family of Acehnese people are through observation partipation and free interview with Acehnese people who are assumed know Acehnese language and custom well. The result of study shows that: 1) there are the differences of address term among some dialects in Aceh, such as North Aceh dialect, Aceh Pidie dialect, Great Aceh dialect, and West Aceh dialect. They are the addresses for father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, brother, sister, the old brother of father or mother, the old sister of father or mother, the young brother of father or mother, and the young sister of father or mother; 2) there is the interference of Arabic Language on the term of addresses in family of Acehnese language, such as the use of term abi, abon, waled, and abu for father; ummi, mi (from ummi), mu (from ummu) for mother, jiddon for grandfather, and jiddah for grandmother; 3) there are terms of addresess that are used only in certain people in society (nobility) such the use of address word ampon (ampon, ampon bang, ampon yah, ampon cek).Keywords: Form of Address, Term of Addresss in family, Acehnese people

This chapter uses a qualitative research approach. It follows an interpretive constructionist paradigm. This approach emphasizes the idea that human knowledge is a human construct, and the chapter examines the world of lived experience from the point of view of pre-service teachers. Method used in collecting information was through literature review. The purpose of this chapter, therefore, is to argue for the mentoring of pre-service teachers. Topics covered are mentoring and professional development; teachers' rights and obligations; factors that discourage pre-service teachers to pursue teacher education; teacher recruitment strategies; teacher autonomy; as well as dealing with diversity and bullying in schools.

<p>The purposes underlying this study are (1) to describe an English textbook entitled “Passport to the World 1” in general; (2) to analyze the quality of the English textbook in developing communicative tasks and types of communicative materials. This research used a descriptive method. The data source of this research is the textbook for seventh grade of Junior High School, published in 2009 by PT Tiga Serangkai Pustaka Mandiri. In collecting data, this study takes four of ten units in the textbook randomly. The study uses theory of Cunningsworth (1995) to analyze the textbook in general and Communicative Language Teaching principles to analyze the tasks and material of the textbook. The result of the study shows that (1) the description of the textbook in general is fairly good (62.5 %); (2) the quality of communicative tasks is good (68.7%), and the quality of types of material in CLT is very good (75.03%). The textbook has all criteria of communicative tasks and materials, but each unit of the the textbook is still not complete. It means that the textbook is appropriate to be used and it  will be better if the teacher also completes each unit which is not appropriate communicative criteria by using other sources in order to develop students’ communicative competence.</p>

Abstract. Due to translation process by Google Translate (GT) is recently common, analyzing its translation equivalence is required. Conducted as descriptive qualitative research, this content analysis study provides descriptions of number and personal equivalence aspects toward sentence meaning in hermeneutics view. There were 90 English sentences analyzed as research sample resulting 7 types of meaning equivalence phenomenon: 1) target text (TT) has number equivalent meaning and the sentence is hermeneutically accepted, 2) TT has no number equivalent meaning yet the sentence is hermeneutically accepted, 3) TT has no number equivalent meaning and the sentence is not hermeneutically accepted, 4) TT has personal equivalent meaning and the sentence is hermeneutically accepted, 5) TT  has no personal equivalent meaning yet the sentence is hermeneutically accepted, 6) TT has no personal equivalent meaning and the sentence is not hermeneutically accepted, and 7) both personal meaning equivalence and sentence hermeneutics point of view cannot be identified due to clusivity of Indonesian. It is concluded that GT is able to provide 53% meaning accuracy in terms of number aspect and 86.6% of number aspect sentences are hermeneutically accepted. GT provides 53% meaning accuracy in personal aspect and 73.3% of personal aspect sentences are hermeneutically accepted. Figures show higher hermeneutical acceptance than the meaning equivalent indicate that GT in Indonesian is considered to be understandable for basic need of clause and sentence level for common information in terms of number and personal equivalence, but for detailed information especially those of number, masculine/feminine, and clusivity phenomenon in Indonesian more enhancement for accuracy is needed.Keywords: meaning equivalence, hermeneutics, clusivity
