Nematodes of Globodera genus are considered one of the most important and limiting pests for potato crops, since these pathogens are difficult to control and cause losses between 20 and 50% of production. The study was carried out in areas of Túquerres and Contadero, belonging to the department of Nariño, Colombia, where cysts were collected by taking soil samples and obtaining immature females after observing the potato plants roots. Photographic records of symptoms corresponding to the nematode presence during the phenological development of the crop were also taken. This study was carried out in order to determine the present specie in the mentioned areas by studying morphological characters such as: nodules shape of the stylet, stretch marks between the vulva and anus and the female color change towards the cyst formation and relate the biological cycle of the pathogen with the host. Cysts viability tests were carried out, obtaining active larvae in J2 state. The evaluated results corresponded to Globodera pallida species and no evidence Globodera rostochiensis was found in samples. Refering to symptoms observed in field, there was chlorosis, yellowish spots on the foliage and plants with little growth. The appearance of immature females coincides with the phenological stage of flowering, which occurs 90 days after the plant emergence.

This study aims to determine the symptoms of virus attacks on potato crops, identification of viruses that attack potato plants in Pancasari village, Bali, efectivity of thermotherapy technique to eliminate in vivo potato. The research was taken using purposive sampling technique and complete random program. Virus symptoms were observed on two potato fields. Serological test employed DAS-ELISA with PVX, PVS, PVY and PLRV antiserum. In vivo elimination virus were done by thermoteraphy in 37°C±1°C (4 days), 34°C±1°C (3 days) on 3 weeks and 33°C±1°C (4 days), 30°C±1°C (3 days) on 2 weeks. Results of the study at Pancasari Village Bali shown varied symptoms on potato leaves, such as mottle, mosaic, malformation, leafroll, witchesbroom. Through serological test, had identified viruses were 11.11% PVX, 55.56% PVS, 80% PVY and 11.11% PLRV which were infected farmer’s potato. In vivo thermotherapy was succeed decreasing PVS and PVY level during 2 weeks on 33°C±1°C (4 days) and 30°C±1°C (3 days).

Research on the growth and formation of potato tubers was conducted to determine the effect of rhizobacteria isolates and coumarin applications growth inhibitors. Bacteria are isolated from the roots of potato plants that grow in the healthy roots of potato plants.The study used a two-factor complete randomized design with three replications. The first factor was rhizobacterial isolates BT.4.1 isolates, BT.4.2 isolates, BT.4.3 isolates. The second factor was the concentration of coumarin 0, 50, 100 and 150 mg L-1. Thus from the results of this study obtained of rhizobacteria BT.4.1, BT.4.3 and coumarin 100 - 150 mg L-1 increases the growth and yield of potato crops. Based on the results of potato tuber produced, the combination of BT.4.1 rhizobacteria, and coumarin 150 mg L-1 can increase growth and yield.

The aim of the research are (1) knowing the internal and external factors which are strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the development of potato agribusiness.), (2) knowing the alternatives and priorities that can be applied in the development of potato agribusiness, (3) knowing how much cost, revenue, and income of potato farming, (4) knowing Knowing the feasibility of potato farming in the study area.The research area was determined by the purposive sampling of Trademark, Trademark District, Karo District which was conducted in May 2019 - August 2019. The reason for choosing the area was because the majority of the population were cultivating potato plants. The sampling method is done by simple ranom sampling (simple random). The sample in this study were farmers who worked on potato crops throughout the year. The number of samples in this study amounted to 30 samples. The results showed that: There are internal and external factors that become strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the development of potato agribusiness in the study area. Based on the results of the QSPM matrix analysis of the eight strategies there is one strategy that needs to be prioritized with a TAS value of 5,893. Costs used by farmers in managing their farms are Rp.17,099,180 per farmer. Revenue per farmer is Rp.59,500,000. The level of income of potato farmers in the study area is relatively high. Where the net income per farmer is Rp.42,400,820, while the R/C value of potato farming is 3.48 per farmer, this shows that the R/C ratio is greater than one so that the potato farming is feasible (economically profitable).

Giving isolates rhizobacteria and coumarin is expected to increase the growth and formation of potato tubers.The purpose of this study was to obtain the best types of rhizobacteria and coumarin concentrations in increasing theproductivity of potato plants. The research was conducted in the experimental garden of the Center for Technology Transferand Agricultural Zone Development of Andalas University, Alahan Panjang, Solok Regency, West Sumatra, from October2016 to January 2017. The study used a 2-factor complete randomized design with three replications. The first factor wasrhizobacterial isolates, namely without bacteria, BT.4.1 isolates, BT.4.2 isolates, BT.4.3 isolates. The second factor was theconcentration of coumarin growth inhibitors, namely 0, 50, 100, and 150 mg L-1. The characters observed were morphologicalcharacterization rhizobacteria, leaf area, relative growth rate, growth rate potato tubers at 1-month-old, fresh weight oftubers aged 100 days after planting, tuber classes, namely: large, medium and small. Observation data were analyzed bythe F test, followed by the HSD test at 5% level. The results showed that BT.4.1 and BT.4.2 rhizobacteria with coumarin 100mg L-1 and 150 mg L-1 increased the growth of potato plants, while the results of potato plants were more affected by theapplication of BT.4.1 and BT rhizobacteria.

The aim of this study was to determine whether the weeds accompanying potato crops can be a source of Alternaria spp. causing Alternaria leaf blight and to determine the genetic similarities of Alternaria alternata isolates infecting selected weeds: Chenopodium album, Cirsium arvense and tested potato cultivar. Three-year field experiment was conducted on the potato cultivar ‘Vineta N’. The isolates were classified into different species on the basis of macro- and microscopic features. In each year of the study, A. alternata dominated among the isolated fungi colonizing the leaves of potato plants and the selected weeds. The genetic similarities of A. alternata isolates was determined by the RAPD-PCR method. Tested genetic forms of A. alternata were closely related; only small differences in the pattern of the separated amplification products was evidenced. The dominance of A. alternata on the weeds accompanying potato crops suggests that if weed infestation is extensive, the pathogen is very likely to spread and its population to increase.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi toksisitas beberapa fungisida nabati dalam mengendalikan penyakit Layu Fusarium (F. oxysporum) pada tanaman kentang (Solanum tuberosum L.) secara In Vitro. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode umpan beracun. Data dianalisis dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan Analisis Varian (ANAVA) yang dilanjutkan dengan menggunakan metode BNT (Beda Nyata Terkecil). Hasil Penelitian, diperoleh nilai toksisitas fungisida nabati tertinggi yaitu pada ekstrak daun sirsak dengan nilai HR (69,44%), kategori berpengaruh, ditandai dengan diameter koloni 2,75 cm (100ppm) dan yang terendah toksisitasnya yaitu pada ekstrak daun jeruk purut dengan nilai HR (49,81%), kategori cukup berpengaruh ditandai dengan diameter koloni 3,75 cm (25ppm). Semakin tinggi konsentrasi yang diujikan maka semakin tinggi toksisitas dari fungisida nabati yang diberikan.Kata Kunci: fungisida nabati, Fusarium oxysporum, tanaman kentang, In Vitro Abstract Potato plants (Solanum tuberosum L.) is one of the horticulture plants which often decreases in terms of production and productivity, due to the attack of wilt, one of which is caused by Fusarium oxysporum. The purpose of this study was to determine the toxicity of several biofungicides in controlling Fusarium wilt (F. oxysporum) in potato plants (Solanum tuberosum L.) in Vitro. The research method used was the In Vitro method with the poison bait method. Data were analyzed by Completely Randomized Design with Variant Analysis (ANAVA), followed by the BNT method. The results showed that the highest biofungicide toxicity value was soursop leaf extract with HR values (69.44%), influential categories, characterized by colony diameter 2.75 cm (100ppm) and the lowest toxicity, namely in kaffir lime leaf extract with a value of HR (49.81%), quite influential category was characterized by colony diameter of 3.75 cm (25ppm). The higher the concentration tested, the higher the toxicity of the biofungicide given.Keywords: biofungicides, Fusarium oxysporum, Potato Plants, In Vitro.

ABSTRACT: Aluminum (Al) is highly toxic to plants, causing stress and inhibiting growth and silicon (Si) is considered beneficial for plants. This chemical element has a high affinity with Al. The aim of this study was to investigate the potential of Si to mitigate the toxic effects of Al on potato ( Solanum tuberosum L.) plants and assess whether this behavior is different among genotypes with differing degrees of sensitivity to Al. Potato plants of the genotypes SMIJ319-7 (Al-sensitive) and SMIF212-3 (Al-tolerant) were grown for fourteen days in nutrient solution (without P and pH 4.5±0.1) under exposure to combinations of Al (0 and 1.85mM) and Si (0, 0.5 and 1.0mM). After this period, shoot and roots of the two genotypes were collected to determine Al content in tissues and assess morphological parameters of root and shoot growth. Roots of both genotypes accumulated more Al than shoots and the Al-tolerant genotype accumulated more Al than the sensitive one, both in roots and in shoot. Furthermore, the presence of 0.5 and 1.0mM Si together with Al reduced the Al content in shoot in both genotypes and in roots of the Al-tolerant genotype, respectively. Si ameliorated the toxic effects of Al with regard to number of root branches and leaf number in both potato genotypes. Si has the potential to mitigate the toxic effects of Al in potato plants regardless of Al sensitivity.

New promising manganese-containing nanobiocomposites (NCs) based on natural polysaccharides, arabinogalactan (AG), arabinogalactan sulfate (AGS), and κ-carrageenan (κ-CG) were studied to develop novel multi-purpose trophic low-dose organomineral fertilizers. The general toxicological effects of manganese (Mn) on the vegetation of potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L.) was evaluated in this study. The essential physicochemical properties of this trace element in plant tissues, such as its elemental analysis and its spectroscopic parameters in electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), were determined. Potato plants grown in an NC-containing medium demonstrated better biometric parameters than in the control medium, and no Mn accumulated in plant tissues. In addition, the synthesized NCs demonstrated a pronounced antibacterial effect against the phytopathogenic bacterium Clavibacter sepedonicus (Cms) and were proved to be safe for natural soil microflora.
