Dayah is an Islamic educational institutions located in Aceh. This educational institution is similar to the so-called pesantren – an Islamic boarding school in the island of Java, both from the aspect of function and purpose (although there are also some important differences). In 2003, the Government of Aceh through the Governor of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Decree, issued a regulation, numbered 451.2 / 474/2003 on the Criteria Stipulation and Dayah Assistance in the province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD). One of the subject matter is to make a policy that dayah is divided into several classifications: Type A, Type B, Type C and Non Type. This classification aims to distinguish the type of assistance to be given to dayah. This qualitative study is conducted to see how effective is the government assistance to support the quality of education in dayah. By conducting interviews to four (4) different dayah (2 interviews at traditional dayah and 2 at modern dayah), this research is expected to analyze the management of education and the impact of government assistance. The results of this study concluded that the education management of dayah remain dependent on their leadership figure (teungku), so that the impact of government assistance also varies positively to dayah physical development and improvement of facilities and infrastructure, but this assistance has also interestingly changed teungku’s positive paradigm into a much more negative one.

It is substantiated that granting autonomy to educational institutions has a positive impact on the management of them and their financial resources, but significantly complicates the issue of accounting. To solve some problematic issues, a general scheme for the formation of a accounting system in the sphere of education in the conditions of decentralization and a step-by-step scheme for the implementation of this task have been built. Prospects for further research in this direction are the formation of methodology and techniques for accounting operations carried out by educational entities, in particular, accounting display of tender and other purchases; development of recommendations on the economic substantiation of the decision on the choice of accounting method by the educational institution. Further development of research on the issues of keeping and organizing accounting in the sphere of education in the context of decentralization will increase the efficiency of spending budget funds and contribute to the growth of the quality of educational services.

The aim of the article is to show the sociological elements in the education process that are present in Korczak’s pedagogy, both in its scientific form as well as in his fiction aimed directly at children. Therefore, society with its educational institutions (family, school, boarding school) is recognized in this pedagogy as an important sphere of symbolic references and educational influences. The key role of society (as the most important educational institution) in shaping pupils is present in commonly known works on the sociology of upbringing (including Florian Znaniecki or Józef Chałasiński), while sociological threads in Korczak’s pedagogy have not been a popular topic of separate analysis so far, apart from one monograph devoted to the subject. Therefore, this topic requires in-depth analyses and afterthought. Janusz Korczak emphasizes the role of society in a child’s life, preparing them primarily for participation in social relations, through diverse forms of group life at school, whose most important achievement is the institution of student self-government. It is thus a bridge between student-oriented education and the traditional pedagogical message, involving the transmission of the requirements of specific social roles.

In general, the quality of Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia can be said to lag behind non-Islamic educational institutions. The quality of education is influenced by the quality of the education management it carries out. The better the quality of management of an educational institution, the quality of education produced will certainly be directly proportional. Changing times continue to occur and competition between educational institutions is also getting tougher. If you are not able to manage an educational institution properly, you will be left behind and it is possible to go bankrupt. One of these self-improvement efforts is the need to reformulate strategic management by considering the concept of a strategic management model. The purpose of this study is to explore a strategic management model for improving the quality of Islamic education. The research was carried out through an approach to library research methods.
