There exist a positive relationship between exercise and narcissistic personality. Athletes who develop narcissistic personality traits wanted to be trained continuously to be successful. As a result, they become addicted to exercise. Athletes with narcissistic personalities should seek help from experts so that they do not become addicted to exercise. Narcissistic people tend to be addicted to exercise. Narcissistic athletes should be constantly checked by their trainers to prevent them from becoming exercise addicts. There are currently limited investigations that have examined the relationship between narcissistic personality traits and exercise dependence. The purpose of the present study was to explore the relationship between exercise dependence levels and narcissistic personalities of male athletes in wrestling, weight lifting, and body building. In this study, narcissistic personality inventory and exercise dependence scale were used as a data collection tool. Statistical software (SPSS 20 version) was used to analyze the data. It was observed that the data is normally distributed and homogeneous. Descriptive statistical analysis and Spearman correlation analysis were used to determine the direction and severity of the relationship between the variables. The study group consisted of 25 wrestlers, 23 weight-lifters, and 14 bodybuilders who achieved the first 3 ranks in Turkey Championships. As a result of descriptive statistical analysis, dropping exercise scores of athletes were as 3.866, sustainability scores were as 2.806, tolerance scores were as 4.634, lack of control scores was as 1.634, decrease in other activities scores was as 1.581, duration scores were as 4,796, intention effect scores were as 2.753, total exercise addiction scores were as 3.153 and narcissism scores were determined as 8,048. At the end of the study, it was determined that the athletes under the sample had a relationship between narcissism and exercise addiction levels. According to descriptive statistical analysis, wrestlers were observed to get the highest scores in lack of control, sustainability, dropping exercise sub-dimensions.

Abstract Although the connection between smoking and individual differences has been recently recognized, the relationship between narcissistic personality traits and cigarette smoking has received less attention. The notion that personality traits can be associated with addictive behavior is influential in clinical practice. However, questions remain about specific interactions between smoking and personality characteristics that need empirical support to substantiate this hypothesis. This study thus identifies narcissistic and impulsive personality traits as precursors of smoking in a sample of tattooed individuals. In a cross-sectional study (N = 120), personality traits were assessed in young women (aged 18-35 years) using the Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI) and the Barratt Impulsivity Scale (BIS-11). The current study, using the regression analysis, has clearly demonstrated that young women who smoke have different personality characteristics as compared with women who do not smoke.

Background: Little is known about the temporal directionality of relationships between problematic internet use and personality disorders such as narcissism. Objective: Although these two constructs are related at a single time, no existent study has determined whether initial problematic internet use is more strongly associated with subsequent narcissism, or vice versa. So, the aim of the research is to verify if problematic internet use predicts the narcissism or vice versa. Methods: Seventy-four university student participants were studied over a four-month period, and completed the Narcissism Personality Inventory, and Problematic Internet Use Questionnaire, at baseline and follow-up. Results: The results demonstrated a relationship between problematic internet use and narcissism at baseline. Time-lagged correlations demonstrated that problematic internet use at baseline was positively related to narcissism four-months later, but not vice versa for social media users whose use was primarily visual. This relationship did not hold for social media users whose use was primarily verbal. Conclusion: These results suggest that problematic internet use may serve to discharge narcissistic personality traits for those who use social media in a visual way, but not for those who do not engage in that form of internet use.

The aims of this study were: to describe farm rice cultivation with tapin and tabela systems practiced by subak and non-subak farmers; to find out the efficiency of farm rice cultivation with tapin and tabela systems on subak and non-subak farmers; to establish the relationship between socio-cultural subak and the efficiency of farm rice cultivation. The study was conducted from June to December 2016. Objects of the study were subak and non-subak farmers who adopted tapin and tabela systems. Data were collected using observation, interview, and study of literature. A total of 60 samples/respondents which were determined purposively and randomly. A descriptive statistical analysis and R/C ratio analysis were used to analyze data. Results of the study showed that: farm rice cultivation by subak farmers who adopted tapin and tabela system was different from that of non-subak farmers, particularly in social and religious aspects; the productivity and efficiency value of subak farmers was higher than that of non-subak farmers, with the subak farmers using tapin and tabela system gained a total of productivity value of Rp 20.741.945,-/hectare and those adopting tabela system reached Rp 20.493.410,-/hectare, and the efficiency value of tapin and tabela was 2.23 and 2.56 respectively. The productivity value of non-subak farmers was lower, with Rp 15.972.705,-/hectare and Rp 15.050.000,-/hectare gained by tapin system and tabela system respectively; it was found from a cross table analysis that the mean score of technology applied by subak farmers per respondent was higher than that of non-subak farmers, which was 12: 9.5 in the tapin system, and 11.27:9 in the tabela system. Based on the score of technology and R/C values, it could be established that there was no relationship between R/C both subak and non-subak.  Keywords: socio-cultural; subak; tapin, tabela; productivity; efficiency.

The aim of this research was to examine the relationship between sociodemographiccharacteristics and elementary school students’ (grades 5 – 8) estimates of theimportance of particular secondary needs. The sample comprised 196 participants. The starting premise was the concept of “Four wishes” for defining the situation byW. I. Thomas (1863 – 1947). The research instrument used in this research was aspecifically designed questionnaire founded on the four wishes by Thomas: the wishfor security, wish for response, wish for recognition and wish for new experience. The Mann-Whitney U test, factor analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, linearregression analysis, Kruskal Wallis test and correlation analysis were applied. The research results show statistically significant differences in the estimate ofimportance of particular needs with respect to gender, i.e. participants’ age. Acorrelation was established between expressing the importance of the need forsecurity with respect to age, and a positive correlation between recognition andparticipants’ age. Furthermore, a correlation was found between age and expressingthe need for new experience among participants. The research established thatfemale participants have a significantly greater need for recognition.Key words: education for free time: educational approach to free time; students’ needs

Recent studies suggest that personality traits affect not only ordinary citizens’ political ideology but also their opinions on specific social or political issues. In line with these studies, this article examines the relationship between personality traits — measured by the Ten Item Personality Inventory (TIPI) — and South Koreans’ attitudes toward North Korea. The results from statistical analysis of two nationally representative surveys reveal that people who are conscientious are less likely to feel close to North Korea and more likely to believe North Korea is a hostile nation, whereas those high on Openness are more likely to harbour positive attitudes toward North Korea. Given that attitudes toward North Korea have been the most important determinant of political ideology in South Korea, these findings seem to be consistent with those of pre-existing studies.

With the advent of technology, smartphones have occupied a prominent place in their users’ personal and professional lives. Thus, it is relevant to understand how the relationship between smartphones and individuals occurs, which may be paradoxical and not distinguish the positive and negative uses of the device. This situation may interfere in the lives of these people. This research is a descriptive study, which used univariate descriptive statistical analysis by means of data and Student’s t-test; it was performed with individuals who face double shift (working and studying). We identified the presence of eight paradoxes, which can be classified into two categories: the first refers to the intimate relationship between individuals and smartphones, whereas the second concerns the functionalities of this type of device. This article also retrieves studies that have addressed the theme “paradoxes”, making a comparison with this study. It was possible to notice differences and similarities over the years.

The department of the hills is located at the center of Benin in plinth area. The water supply in this area is more and more directed towards surface water due to the hydrogeologic constraints and the impact of the climatic fluctuations. The climatological and geological data analysis made by the methods of descriptive statistical analysis made it possible to analyze the dynamics of the climatic parameters on the one hand and the behavior of the geological units to the recorded flows. The hydroclimatic study showed a deficit on the level of the climatic assessment and a decline of pluviometry since 1970. The study of the hydrogeologic characteristics carried out on 706 drillings made it possible to show the relationship between various parameters such as: thickness of change, flows end of boring and productivity of the drilling / lithology.
