Counseling guidance students are counselor candidates. One of the competencies possessed by a counselor is the ability in conversation and can enjoy the ongoing conversation. This ability is a speaking skill. From the observations of researchers while providing lecture material and practice counseling, there are still many students of counseling study programs at PGRI Banyuwangi University who have low ability to speak. In counseling science, efforts to change behavior with behavioral modeling techniques. This research is an experimental research approach. In this study, observations make twice, that is, observations made before and after treatment. Data collection methods used in this study are observation and documentation. The results of data analysis using a statistical test with a T-Test and looking for a comparison between pre-test and post-test. This research has conducted on students of Guidance and Counseling Study Program PGRI Banyuwangi University. Based on the data and instruments provided, 17 res ondents to have low Speaking Skill abilities. Based on the results of SPSS data, behavioral therapy counseling with modeling techniques used to improve students' speaking skills. The technique is a recommendation to overcome the lack of speaking skills in students. From the correlation analysis between pretest and post-test, resulting in a correlation number of 0.213 with a chance value below 0.05 which is equal to 0.000.

The aim of the research was to describe the learning atmosphere during the implementation of “Snakes and Ladders” in teaching Speaking. Besides, the research was also designed to know how the improvement of the students’ Speaking skill during the implementation of “Snakes and Ladders”. This research was a classroom action research. The participants of this research were 27 second semester students of English Study Program at STAIN Bengkalis. This research was conducted in two cycles by following the procedure of action research, i.e. planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. In collecting the data, the researcher used observation, questionnaire, and test. The lecturer was the researcher assisted by collaborator as observer. The questionnaire was given to the students before and after the implementation of “Snakes and Ladders”. The tests were in the form of pre-test, post-test 1 and post-test 2. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The qualitative data were analyzed using Interactive Model of Data Analysis as propounded by Matthew M. Miles and A.M. Huberman. The results of the research showed that the learning atmosphere also improved. The class became more active and confident. Furthermore, “Snakes and Ladders” was able to improve the students’ Speaking Skill. It was proven by the increase of the students’ mean score from 41.16 in pre-test to 46.21 in cycle 1, and 48.98 in cycle 2, although the results of the research were just a little bit improvement. It could be concluded that the use of “Snakes and Ladders” has proven to be an effective way in teaching-learning of Speaking Skill on Second Semester of English Study Program at STAIN Bengkalis.

This study focuses on the use of an online learning research project focused on students' speaking skills. It is an innovative and practical approach that can develop students to solve a problem by thinking critically. This study aimed to determine the effect of using inquiry project-based learning on students' speaking skills. The research was conducted at MTs Mambaus Sholihin Gresik in class VII Q. To determine whether inquiry-project based online learning is effective or not, researchers used a pre-experimental method, where the statistical formula of the t-test calculates information. The research result is that the pre-test's mean was 83.9189, and the norm of the post-test was 88.5135. The results showed that inquiry-project based online learning projects had a positive effect on students' speaking achievement. It means that there is a large effect, with a substantial difference in student scores before and after treatment. Thus it can be concluded that inquiry-project-based online learning is recommended to promote students' speaking skills.

This study aims to analyze the influence of Android-based role playing learning models towards students' motivation in speaking skills. This study used a quasi-experimental method with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample of this study consisted of two classes. The research instrument used tests and questionnaires. Based on the results of the average value of the experimental class pretest class is 59.25 and posttest is 72.95 has increased by 13.70 while the average value of the pre-test control class is 68.3 and post-test is 58.75 experienced a decrease of 9.55. The average questionnaire result data was 89.5 and it was concluded that there were differences in student motivation  before and after learning with Android-based role playing models. Learning using Android-based has an influence on learning motivation of students in class X TKJ by 53% with the results of t-table > t-count (5.35 > 2.06), then the hypothesis is accepted. At the end of this study, it is hoped that learning based on Android can be used as an alternative in learning speaking skills

This Collaborative Classroom Action Research aimed at enhancing students’ speaking skill through the application of Circle Game. It was conducted in one cycle consisting of two meetings. The subject was the seventh of C class of SMPN 2 Alas Barat consisting of 22 students. The types of data were qualitative (acquiring observation during the learning process) and quantitative (speaking tests). The results qualitatively showed that the implementation of Circle Game enhanced the students’ speaking skills. Such improvement could be seen from their enthusiasm, their interesting feeling in various materials presented by the teacher, their active involvement. In the quantitative findings, the result also showed a higher value of the mean score of the post-test (77.34) rather than the pre-test (75.75). In conclusion, the use of Circle Game can improve students’ speaking skill.

Guiding is a branch of oral communication. In oral communication, guiding can be included as productive skill. English guiding is one of the academic lessons in the fourth semester. Being a tour guide is a very important job in tourism part. In many cases, the tour guide is a traveller's first impression of a foreign country. In other cases a tour guide may be responsible for teaching tourists about the culture and sites in a city or town. Improving students’ communicative skill is the goal of teaching English guiding, because the student can express themselves and know how to use language well. In the real situation in teaching guide process, lecturer cannot escape from reality. It occurs because there are some problems faced by the lecture and the student. The lecturer cannot make student pay attention; make the students’ lack of creativity in making interactive guiding topics, and engagement in whole teaching learning process. This research applied photovoice as a technique to increase the student’s ability in speaking English guiding. Photovoice is suitable technique in teaching speaking skill in English guiding because it gives student chance to communicate with different context and different social by photo as a learning media. This reviews were taken from Beverly Palibroda (2009) Photovoice implementation and Speaking Assessment from Brown Lavinson (2004). This research was conducted by three cycles such as: pre-test, cycle I and cycle II. In composing this research the writer used qualitative descriptive method by classroom action research (CAR).             The result of this research showed that the mean score in pre-test before implementing Photovoice clearly showed that the ability of the subject under study was relatively “ fairly satisfactory ” in the level of mastery of speaking rubric. There were increasing in cycle I after implementing Photovoice technique. The result of the data analysis of the reflection score in cycle I showed increasing the mean score of 7.11 It was higher than the result of pre-test. In the cycle II, which the treatment was more intensive in order of weakness of the students had been known. The result of the data anaysis of reflection or post-test in cycle II that the mean score was 8.18. The different between mean score in cycle I and II was 1.07. It showed that the student’s speaking guiding ability improved after the researcher applied the photovoice thecnique to the students.

This study aims at determining the effectiveness of meaningfulness approach in enhancing students’ speaking skill at German Language Study Program, Faculty of Languages and Literature, State University of Makassar. This study used a Pre - Experimental Design, and applied one group pre-test - post-test design. The population was the fifth semester student years 2011-2012 at the German language education study program with the total sample was 64 students by using total sampling method. Inferential statistics analysis in form of t-test was used to test research hypothesis. The result of this study showed that t = 4,09 is higher than t- table (t table = 1,999) at the significance level 0.05 or 4 , 09 ≥ 1,999 . The result showed that the meaningfulness approach was effective in enhancing students’ speaking skill at German Language Study Program, Faculty of Languages and Literature, State University of Makassar.

This research aims to see the students’ speaking skill before and after learning process by using expression card media at the second grade of SMA Negeri 1 Parepare. The results of the research are useful for the teacher and students. The teacher should aware that it is important to supplied the technique or strategy before teaching and the students also can be easier to express their ideas, make the students more active in learning process. The subject of this research is XI IIS4 class which is consisted of 30 students. The sample was taken by using simple random sampling. The design in this research was pre-experimental with pre-test and post-test design. The student did the pre-test, got the treatment and did the post-test. Then the criteria of speaking skills are fluency, accuracy, content, pronunciation and they were usedto measure the students’ speaking skill. It aimed to know whether using expression card media can improve the students’ speaking skill. The result in this research was indicated that there was improvement of the students’ speaking skill. It was indicated by the students’ mean score of post-test (73.3) was greater than pre-test (41.9). Even, for the level significant (p) 5% and (df) = N-1=30-1=29, and the value of table is 1.699, while the value of t-test is 16.18. it means that, the t-test value is greater than t-table (16.18 ≥ 1.699). Thus, it can be concluded that the students’ speaking skill is significant better after getting the treatment. So, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is fail rejected.

This study aims to determine the students’ speaking skill before and after applying Guessing Game and find out the effect of Guessing Game on the students’ speaking skill at the first semester of English education study program of STAIN Bengkalis. This research is experimental research that involved 18 students at the first semester of English Education Study Program of STAIN Bengkalis. Speaking test was implemented in order to collect the students’ speaking performance, and the collected data were quantitatively analyzed. Guessing Game has a less significant effect in improving the students’ speaking skill at the first semester of English education study program of STAIN Bengkalis. This is evidenced by the results of t-o (1,3) smaller than t-table.

The objectives of this research is to find out the effectiveness of retelling short story toward students’ accuracy in speaking skill. This research employed pre-experimental method which entails pre-test, treatment, and post-test. Speaking test was used in collecting the data. A total of 39 students of MTsN Makassar as the subject of this research.. The data on the students’ speaking skill were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results demonstrated that there was a differentiation between the students’accuracy in speaking skill before and after being thought through retelling short story. The null hypotesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (HI) was accepted because the t-test value was 5,42 which was higher than t-table value 2,024.. The mean score of the students before teaching retelling short story was 2,95 classified as poor score. After teaching retelling short story the mean score was 3,38 classified as a good score. Based on result of data analysis above, the researcher drew conclusion that retelling short story could effective toward students’ accuracy in speaking skill.

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of the application of technology-based teaching media to improve the speaking skills of the Hospitality Study Program Students of STP Mataram. In this study, several media that utilize computers and the internet will be used in learning speaking. The use of the application Rosetta Stone, Duolingo, and YouTube videos integrated with the google classroom are used as learning media for students' speaking learning of the hospitality study program students. In this study, 30 students are used as the experimental group and 30 students as a controlled group. The results of this study indicated that the value of t-test > t table (3.462> 2.676), which means that there is a significant difference in English speaking skills using technology-based learning media. In conclusion, the use of technology-based learning media is effective in enhancing students’ speaking skill.
