This study aims to develop learners’ speaking skill at tenth grade of SMK Budi Bakti Utama through Demonstration Technique in procedure text. This research is a Classroom Action Research based on Kurt Lewin’ design. This CAR done in two cycle. Every cycle consist of four phases (planning, acting, observing and reflecting). The data were gathered through qualitative and quantitative, namely interview, observation, pretest, posttest and questionnaire. The researcher found that demonstration Technique in teaching procedural text was succes to increase the learners’ speaking ability. It is concluded from the learners score. Where, before implementing CAR the mean score was 53.48 and only 6 learners from 33 learners passed the KKM. Then, after implementing CAR the mean score was better became 75.21 and there are 27 learners passed the KKM.

This Collaborative Classroom Action Research aimed at enhancing students’ speaking skill through the application of Circle Game. It was conducted in one cycle consisting of two meetings. The subject was the seventh of C class of SMPN 2 Alas Barat consisting of 22 students. The types of data were qualitative (acquiring observation during the learning process) and quantitative (speaking tests). The results qualitatively showed that the implementation of Circle Game enhanced the students’ speaking skills. Such improvement could be seen from their enthusiasm, their interesting feeling in various materials presented by the teacher, their active involvement. In the quantitative findings, the result also showed a higher value of the mean score of the post-test (77.34) rather than the pre-test (75.75). In conclusion, the use of Circle Game can improve students’ speaking skill.

This study concerns on improving students’ achievement in writing procedure texts through word webbing technique. The research was conducted by using Classroom Action Research (CAR). The population was the 2012-2013 nine grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Batang Kuis. The number of students was 36, consisting of 21 females and 15 males. The procedure of the research was administrated into two cycles where each cycle consisted of three meetings. Each meeting included four steps namely: planning, action, observation, and reflection. There were two kinds of data collected during the study, qualitative and quantitative data. The instrument for collecting the quantitative data was the writing of procedure texts test while the qualitative data were gathered by using interview, diary notes and observation sheet. Based on the data analysis, the mean of students’ score in Test I was 53,47, for the Test II was 63,05, and for the Test III was 75 The qualitative data showed that the students were interested in the applying of Word webbing Technique. The conclusion is that Word Webbing Technique in writing Procedure Texts improves the students’ achievement in writing procedure texts. This research focuses on the use of the Snake and Ladder Board Game in teaching speaking to the tenth grade students at SMA Kristen Mercusuar Kupang. This research aims at finding out the appropriate way of teaching speaking by using snake and ladder board game for students in the tenth grade students at SMA Kristen Mercusuar Kupang..This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of the research is the tenth grade students at SMA Kristen Mercusuar Kupang.. The procedure of the research applied two cycles namely cycle I and cycle II.  Every single cycle had fourth steps namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The result of this research shown that there were significant developments on students speaking skill at the tenth grade students at SMA Kristen Mercusuar Kupang after conducting the treatments through snake and ladder board game. In which the score of a cycle 1 am 43,06 and the score of cycle II is 71,88. It means that the snake and ladder board game is an appropriate way to improve the students` speaking skills. In addition, the researcher found the result of the observation that almost all of the students gave positive responses, such as they gave attention seriously in learning process, they had been more active than before, make them happy and  enjoy the  class,  and  of  course  they could  improve  their  speaking toward snake and ladder board game in improving speaking skill

This research was aimed at describing whether or not Think-Pair-Share strategy is able to improve the students’ motivation and speaking competence. The research was a Classroom Action Research. The data collected through qualitative and quantitative ways. The instruments used by the researcher were speaking test, observation sheet and questionnaire. The finding of the research showed that the strategy can improve the students’ motivation and speaking competence. The improvement can be seen from the result of note taking and observation sheet. In cycle one there were 20 out of 30 students improved their motivation which was also supported by questionnaire result of 84%. In cycle two the result of note taking and observation sheet showed that there were 25 out of  30 students improved their motivation which was also supported by questionnaire result of 91%. The mean score of the students also showed an improvement, from 63, 53 on first cycle to 84 on the second cycle. So, it could be concluded that using Think-Pair-Share strategy was able to improve the students’ motivation and speaking competence.

Abstract   This classroom action research was done in the area of speaking.  It was found that the eleventh grade students of SMAN 8 Denpasar got difficulty  in communicating and delivering ideas. The objective of this study was to figure out whether or not speaking  skill of the eleventh-grade students of SMAN 8 Denpasar in academic year 2017/2018 could be improved  through  British  Parliamentary  Style Debate Technique.  The research was undertaken based on the result of the interview with the teacher who taught the students. Pre-test was then carried out, and it was found that the subjects’ speaking skill was low. In order to settle down the problem, British Parliamentary Style Debate Technique was implemented as the technique to improve the subjects’ speaking skill. The study was conducted in two cycles. Furthermore, the result of post- test in each cycle showed that there were significant improvements on the subjects’ speaking skill after British  Parliamentary  Style  Debate technique  was applied. After the treatment of pre-test, the reflection or post-test was administered.   The mean figure of the reflection or post-test scores obtained by the subjects under study in cycle I was 70.52. and in cycle  II  was  78.34. In addition, based on the data of the questionnaire, the subjects’ responses towards the application of the technique was positive.  Therefore, it could be concluded that speaking skill of the eleventh- grade students of SMAN 8 Denpasar in academic year 2017/2018 could be improved through British Parliamentary Style Debate Technique. This study aims to investigate of implementation of Steller application to improve students’ writing Descriptive text and students’ responses about Steller application in writing Descriptive text. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) method proposed by Kemmis and McTaggart (1998, cited in Burns, 2009). This research consisted of two cycles and each cycle consisted of four steps, they were: planning, actin, observation, and reflection. Each cycle was conducted in two meetings. To collect and analyze the data, the researcher used observation, questionnaire, and test. The result of this research shows that using Steller application in learning writing Descriptive text can improve students’ writing Descriptive text. The improvement of students’ writing Descriptive text also supported by the achievement of students’ test score. The students’ mean score of pre cycle test was 63.32, the mean score of test in cycle 1 was 73.58 and the mean score of test in cycle 2 was 79.19. it means that score test of cycle 1 was higher than pre cycle test and score test of cycle 2 was higher than mean score of test in cycle 1. The students’ responses showed that they were interested in learning writing Descriptive txt, because it was easier for them to write, it increased their motivation in learning, and Steller application game the students easy steps to write Descriptive text. Therefore it can be concluded that the implantation of Steller application improves students’ writing Descriptive text significantly at tenth grade of SMA Pasundan Cikalongkulon Cianjur.

Tik tok is one of the most loved apps in the millennial era. The Tik Tok application is an application to create and share various short videos in vertical format, which is played by simply scrolling the screen up or down. Tik Tok users are increasing every day, especially during the pandemic era. In 2020, as of October Tik Tok reached 2 billion downloads worldwide. This application originating from China is widely downloaded by social media users to relieve boredom when they have to stay at home. This study aims to improve students' speaking skills through the Tik Tok application. The subjects of this study were 20 students of the third semester in English education major at STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung. The method used is descriptive quantitative method using classroom action research techniques. Based on the result, the improvement of students’ learning activities showed mean score of students’ learning activities in pre cycle is 68.88, in cycle I was 69 with the criteria was less active. While, the mean score of students’ learning activities in cycle II was 76.75 with the criteria were quite active. So, the improvement of students’ learning activities the first cycle to the second cycle was 7.75 point. From analyzing data, it could be concluded that classroom action research by using Tik Tok App improved students’ learning activities and students’ speaking skill.

This research is done because the mean of pretest speaking is 65.73. The KKM is 75.00. The problems of this research are: 1) Can the use of a Debate Method increase the students’ Speaking Skill on Discussion Text at class XII   SMAN 1 Bengkulu?. 2) How is the effectiveness of procedures of Using a Debate Method to Increase the Students’Speaking skill on Discussion Text at class XII  SMAN 1 Bengkulu? The aims of this research are: 1).To increase the students’ speaking skill on Discussion Text at class XII  SMAN 1 Bengkulu. 2).To find out how the effective procedure of using a debate method to increase the students’ speaking skill on discussion text at class XII SMAN 1 Bengkulu. This classroom action research which uses descriptive qualitative technique. This method uses pre-test and two cycles. Each cycle consists of four steps: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The source of the data is the teacher, collaborator as observer and students, and the result of the test. The total of the students are 35 students. Technique and collecting data uses observation and test.The result of classroom action research from observation cycle 1 is not good, that is 65%. And the result speaking test cycle1 is not good either, the mean score is 74.93%. 2 students get score 55-64, and the percentage is 5.71%. 12 students get score 65-74, and the percentage is 34.29%. 21 students get score 75-84 and the percentage is 60%. N0ne get score 85-94. The result of observation cycle 2 is good, that is 89%, and so is the result speaking test cycle 2, and the mean score is 80,64% .None of  students get score below 75, and the percentage means 0%, 31 students get score 75-84, and the percentage is 88,57%. 4students get score 85-94, and the percentage is 11.43%. And even thought none student gets score 95-100 ,but the result is satisfied. The mean is 80,64. From the observation result of the test cycle 2 shows that the success of the learning process is good. KKM for English is 75.00, so the learning activity of students is fulfilled for the KKM.  From the result of the cycle test 2, the mean score is 80,64% , learning activity uses a Debate Method to Increase the students’ speaking skill on Discussion Text at class XII IPS 2 SMAN 1 Bengkulu  semester 1 academic year 2017-2018 is successful.

This research is aimed to improve students’ reading skill and vocabulary mastery through self-access centre at tenth grade students of SMAN 5 Kota Serang. This research was conducted for three months. This study tries to answer the main questions (1) how is students’ learning process of reading and vocabulary through self-access centre? (2) how is students’ learning achievement of reading and vocabulary through self-access centre? The method used in this research was a classroom action research. The action research was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle was consisted of four steps; planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The data were collected through qualitative and quantitative techniques. The qualitative data were collected by analysing the observation. The quantitative data were obtained from the students score in pre-test and post-test. The study showed that there was improvement on students’ reading comprehension and vocabulary mastery. The mean scores are 53.64 for reading pre-test and 64.92 for vocabulary pre-test. The results of post-test in cycle I show 65.12 for reading post-test and 72.96 for vocabulary. In cycle II, students get 70.88 for reading post-test and 76.36 for vocabulary post-test. The result specifies that self-access centre is successful in improving students reading comprehension and vocabulary mastery.

AbstractAs a foreign language, English language is not easy to study by students in every grade. Many students cannot understand their materials because they have perception that studying English is very difficult for them. Writing is one of important components in language skills. On the other hand, it is considered difficult by learners including the students of SMA N 1 Sedayu especially class X IIS 3. The students’ writing achievement was still low. To solve this problem, the researcher did the classroom action research. The objectives of this research are describing the improvement of students’ writing skill through recount text using picture series, analyzing the students’ interests in writing skill through recount text using picture series, and finding out how far the improvement of the students using picture series in writing skill through recount text. This research involved 32 students from tenth grade of SMA N 1 Sedayu. In this research, to get the data researcher gave questionnaires, did observation, interview and tests. A classroom action research was used in this research to overcome student’s problem in writing skill. The mean in pre-test and post-test showed a different number. The mean of the pre-test was 61.7 which was still low score because the KKM is 75. Afterwards, the researcher conducted the next treatment, then did post-test and the mean of the students’ score was increased into 77,7. Besides, students also showed different interest in their learning English especially English writing skill.
