Since the emergence of COVID pandemic, the education sector seems to have been worst hit due to closure of all learning institutions worldwide, as a way of containing the spread of the disease. Consequently, most institutions have adopted remote learning as an alternative to offering education to the learners. However, a myriad of challenges have ensured that threatens the attainment of SDG goal number 4 on quality of education. This paper attempts to discuss the challenges that are facing online education in Kenya and its likelihood of propagating traditional social inequalities that threatens the attainment of sustainable development goal on quality education. The paper recommends the need to come up with a policy to ensure harmony in the way e-learning is conducted to enhance quality, equity, and access to educational opportunities for all learners in Kenya.

Abstract The quality of online education is of interest to universities around the world. Only high quality and cyclical evaluation are the conditions for obtaining students’ satisfaction with this form of education. In the pandemic era, digital dissemination and open education have become a special obligation of academic education. This paper aims to present the opinions of postgraduate students on the quality of e-learning forced by the Covid-19 pandemic. The study was conducted using an online survey questionnaire sent to all 173 MBA and Executive MBA (EMBA) students studying during the pandemic era in Poland's leading Business School, 40% of whom returned completed valid surveys. Students assessed aspects of e-learning such as teaching materials, communication with lecturers, the attractiveness of online classes, networking, strategies, and criteria for evaluating didactic activities, e-learning platform, and support received from the university. The results showed that although most examined aspects are perceived very well or well by the students, there is always some space for improvement. Despite the fact that the study was conducted on a small sample of students, their opinions obtained during the survey provide valuable information to universities about the quality of postgraduate e-learning from its main actors, that is, students. Based on this, the paper presents clear recommendations to universities on how the quality of online education could be managed and improved.


The potential of ICTs in promoting the development and reach of educational avenues in India is unambiguously clear in the light of the challenges facing the country. Role of ICTs with enhanced focus on development of content and the applications to provide enhanced quality of education must be synchronized with the various initiatives for using ICT for education and should be guided by adequate guidelines and framework. Provisioning of ICT is limited by the Infrastructure especially in the rural areas, where Internet and electrification are major issues of concern. It is well known that higher penetration of mobile phone, radio and TV implies increased development and delivery of innovative content via these media. This paper is focussed on the necessity to incorporate ICT as a part of the curriculum and also use it to strengthen the teaching learning process. The paper explores the key factors that drive the growth in the E-Learning sector. The authors undertook a research for identifying the various factors that may affect the choice and preference of employees for opting for online education as a measure for career/knowledge enhancement. The study indicates that online education market in India is currently booming. The growth of the market is dependent on the field of study, the willingness to pay, the credibility of the offering organization and the acceptability of the learning in the Corporate sector.

There exists nowadays an enormous variety of models of e-leaning, from the technological, methodological and management perspective. At the university level, but also in company-training, in schools and formal education institutions, the different educational models appear, moving in a continuum from those who use technology as a complement or support to traditional attended sessions, to those that base the teaching and learning process in completely online environments. They try a variety of teaching methods while using differing degrees of virtualisation in the organisation (Bates, 2005). Years ago, when ICT in education started to be widely used, the success of the e-learning experience and the institutions themselves depended on their technological means; the platform was the most important of the model adopted by e-learning institutions. Initial efforts were put in market analysis aiming at finding out which was the best platform developed by ICT providers. Major investments in economical terms were dedicated to the acquisition of what was considered “the best” platform. Some years later, it was seen that institutions were different from the rest, and that not all educational platforms could cover all their needs. They realised that the success of their educational offer could not only be based on technology but in the learning materials provided. At that moment, the industry of online resources and hypermedia materials for educational uses grew up quickly. For some years, the success of e-learning mainly depended on the quality of the online materials provided, and that distinguish one institution from others.

Distance education has been on the rise for quite some time now, and it has widened the target audience of traditional younger college students to a more diverse group. Included in the more diverse group are international students. Many international students want to pursue an American education but plan on living outside of the United States. Attending an American college was out of the question for these international students until distance learning was created. Nearly 70% of senior university administrative officials from around the world expect an increase in international students to their schools’ e-learning programs, according to a new survey, which means there is a need for understanding andragogy. The survey, conducted by Acadient, a leading developer and distributor of online education for higher education, shows that administrators expect the increase to come from students in Asia, specifically China, Malaysia, and India. The survey was sent globally to more than 300 senior university and business school administrators and members of the University Continuing Education Association (Newswire, 2004).

The researcher implemented an e-learning course at the Faculty of Education in Birzeit University that had been designed and developed years earlier. The researcher's experience as an assistant professor in curriculum and instruction within this university represents a valuable asset which has enabled her to present this research effectively by demonstrating how technological innovation changes the way that universities teach and students learn. The implementation of an e-learning approach within the educational psychology course as a pilot study utilized qualitative methods to investigate the perceptions of students regarding the quality of online education, based on their own online learning experiences. Interviews were conducted with five students. Various digital documents were collected. Positive and negative experiences of students were examined. Factors that contribute to those experiences were also identified.

Abstract Background: COVID-19 has highly impacted the education system and has created trends in online classes. To fill in the gap created by lockdown and to continue the uninterrupted learning process, educational institutions worldwide started organizing online classes. Although medical education is mostly practical, it is not safe to conduct on campus classes. This study aimed to measure the scope and limitations of online education and the overall impact of COVID-19 on the medical education system.Methodology: This was a cross-sectional study. Ethical approval was obtained from the ethical committee of the South Point Hospital. Informed consent was obtained. Self-administered questionnaires were administered to participants.Results: E-Learning opportunities were made available in 98.69% of cases; some student forums also participated. Among survey respondents, females predominated (57.39%), and 42% of respondents belonged to rural areas and small towns. Access and quality of internet during online classes was average to poor in 54%, and only 10% said it was good. Zoom was the platform for classes in 98% of situations, followed by Facebook live (41.05%), prerecorded video upload, YouTube link, etc. Sixty percent graded the quality of online classes as good, 10% excellent, and 5% bad. Approximately 43% of the participants evaluated online assessments as good. Of the respondents, 17% faced substantial stress, and 18% did not. Twenty-eight percent of the students faced huge mental stress during COVID-19.Conclusions: E-learning is a new normal during the COVID-19 pandemic. Given the opportunity, medical students benefited greatly, but there was a technological divide. There were also financial and mental stresses to a certain extent.

As online education continues to thrive, as indicated by increased acceptance and growing enrollment numbers, schools must strive to provide high quality educational opportunities to their students. Interaction within the classroom is one method of instruction that has been accepted in traditional settings and should be utilized within online classrooms as well. A review of the literature that addresses how interaction creates presence within the online environment will help to establish how interaction creates presence and will describe what tools faculty should utilize and the types of presence for which faculty should strive and why.

Healthy children learn better; educated children grow to raise healthier families advancing a stronger, more productive nation for generations to come. School nurses work to assure that children have access to educational opportunities regardless of their state of health. Challenges exist in coordinating children’s healthcare, but also present opportunities to build a robust system of care for children. This article briefly reviews the historical roots and legal issues in school nursing, and discusses student needs for school nursing support and disabilities in the school setting. The work of school nursing is described, as well as registered nurse staffing in schools. The conclusion considers current and future issues in school nursing, including funding and delivery issues, the use of information technology, and partnership opportunities.

Abstract Distance learning and e-learning have significantly developed in recent years. It is also due to changing educational requirements, especially for adults. The article aims to show the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning. Examples of the 20-year use of the distance learning form of computer science describe the difficulties associated with the implementation and implementation of this form of teaching. The results of students in the full-time and distance form of teaching in the bachelor’s study of computer science are compared. Long-term findings show that distant students have significantly lower scores in the first years of study than full-time bachelor students. In the following years of study, the differences diminish, and students’ results are comparable. The article describes the possibilities of improving the quality of distance learning.

Currently, in the context of the widespread use of e-learning technologies and distance educational technologies, it is necessary to train future teachers, taking into account the peculiarities of solving professional problems in an electronic information and educational environment, to develop students' relevant competencies, including network communicative competence. Despite the large number of studies devoted to the communicative aspect of the teacher's activities, the problem of the formation of network communicative competence in the electronic information and educational environment has not been sufficiently studied. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, the results of the questionnaire survey of students, some methods of forming network communicative competence in future teachers in the study of various disciplines, in the course of teaching practice, and scientific research are proposed. The analysis of the conditions and factors that determine the choice of methods for the formation of the specified competence has been carried out. These factors are associated with the teachers' perception of the peculiarities of communication in the electronic information and educational environment, the didactic and communicative potential of resources and tools of the electronic information and educational environment, the choice of methods and technologies for organizing interaction, the selection of educational material that allows the development of components of network communicative competence, the design of tasks and exercises for the development of network communicative competence, the choice of modes, schemes and forms of organization of interaction, the organization of feedback, control of the level of formation of the network communicative competence, the implementation of reflection. The formed network communicative competence will contribute to a more effective solution by the teacher of communicative tasks in the electronic information and educational environment, which will improve the quality of training of future teachers in the electronic information and educational environment.
