This research aimed to determine the effect of learning model on: science process skills in SMA Negeri 1 Langsa. The research applied experimental queasy method research with 3 classes which were using by cluster randome technique. Class A learnt with problem based learning model, class B with  guided discovery lerning model, while class C (control) learnt with conventional lerning model. the data analysis technique used Covariat Analysis (ANACOVA) at the level of significance α = 0,05 by using SPSS 21.0. The result showed: there was significant effect of learning models on student’s science process skill (F = 50.953; P = 0.00). student’s science process skill learnt by problem based learning (84.5 ± 5.3) significantly higher than guided discovery (75.30 ± 7.7), and conventional learning models (65.90 ± 8.1).

The type of this study is a quasi-experiment study with its purpose to know any difference of students’ achievement in mathematics which using the model of guided discovery learning with cooperative learning model JIGSAW type.The population of this study is all students in SMA N 3 P. Siantar. The sampling technique applied was cluster random sampling. The experimental class I that chosen is X-1 consisted of 36 students, meanwhile the experimental class II that chosen is X-6 consisted of 36 students. The instrument used to measure the students’ mathematics achievement was a essay test. The normality test used was Lilliefor’s test, gotten that data is normal and the homogeneity test by using Fisher test, gotten that data is homogeny. The data analysis technique was t-test at the level of significance a = 5%. The study result showed that there is the difference of students’ achievement in mathematics which using the guided discovery learning model with cooperative learning model JIGSAW type in grade X SMA N 3 P. This study aims to determine: (1) The differences in students' mathematical communication abilities by implementing Batak culture-oriented learning on problem-based learning (PBM-B3) and guided discovery (PT-B3) and (2) the interaction between learning models and students' gender towards students’ mathematical communication abilities. This research is quasi-experimental. The population of this study was first-grade students of SMP Swasta Putri Cahaya 2018/2019 with a sample taken from class VII-1 treated with the PBM-B3 learning model and class VII-2 treated with PT-B3 learning model. Each class consists of 14 male students and 14 female students. The research instrument used was a test of students' mathematical communication abilities. Data analysis was performed using covariance analysis (ANACOVA). Based on the research conducted, the results showed that: (1) There were differences in the students' mathematical communication abilities who were treated with the PBM-B3 and PT-B3 learning model after controlling the initial abilities of students. The interaction patterns of Dalihan Na Tolu found in the two learning models showed a positive effect on students' mathematical communication abilities because this interaction pattern is inherent in students which resulted in higher self-confidence in communicating ideas during problem-solving. (2) There was an interaction between the learning model and the gender of students on their mathematical communication abilities after controlling the initial abilities of students.

Abstract This research aims to find out how much the effectiveness of using guided discovery learning model on temperature and heat material to improve students' science process skills. The research design used is Class Action Research which consists of three cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of this research is the students of class XI MIPA 2 SMA Labschool Jakarta who have a low level of science process skill. Aspects of science process skills studied are hypothetical skills, interpretation of data, and communicate the findings. This research the step of guided discovery learning is:  stimulus, problem statement, data collection, processing data, verifikation, generalisation. The instrument used is the KPS observation sheet and students’ worksheet. The indicator of this research is 70% of students can formulate a hypothesis, interpret the data and communicate data correctly. The results showed in the first cycle that students science process skills reach 17%, cycle II 61%, and in cycle III 81%. The average in third cycle is hypothetical skill 90.28 (very good category), data interpretation 91,67 (very good category), and communication skill 79 (good category). Based on the result of research, it can be concluded that there is an improvement of students' science process skill by using guided discovery learning model on temperature and heat material. Keywords: science process skill, guided discovery learning, action research classroom Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar peningkatan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik setelah diterapkan model guided discovery learning pada materi suhu dan kalor. Adapun desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari tiga siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri atas perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 2 SMA Labschool Jakarta yang mempunyai tingkat keterampilan proses sains rendah sekali. Aspek keterampilan proses sains yang diteliti adalah keterampilan berhipotesis, interpretasi data, dan mengkomunikasikan hasil penemuan. Dalam penelitian ini langkah dari guided discovery learning yaitu: stimulus, problem statement, data collection, data processing, verifikasi, dan generalisasi. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi KPS dan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik. Indikator keberhasilan penelitian ini adalah apabila 70% Peserta didik dapat merumuskan hipotesis, interpretasi data dan mengkomunikasikan data dengan benar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada siklus I keterampilan proses sains siswa mencapai 17%, siklus II 61%, dan pada siklus III 81%. Rata-rata nilai LKS pada siklus tiga adalah: keterampilan hipotesis 90,28 (kategori sangat baik), interpretasi data 91,67 (kategori sangat baik), dan keterampilan komunikasi 79 (kategori baik). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik setelah diterapkan model guided discovery learning pada materi suhu dan kalor. This research aimed to determine is there any significant differences between Students’ Science Process Skill taught by using Collaboration Based Guided Discovery Technique using Flash Media with conventional learning. The sample of the research was taken by using cluster random sampling from around 2 classes consisting of 82 students. Experimental class was taught by using Based Guided Discovery Technique using Flash Media. Meanwhile control class was taught by using conventional teaching technique. The data analysis technique used independent T-test and correlation test with SPSS 17 at the significance level α = 0.05. The result of the research showed  that there were significant differences between students’ science process skill taught by using Collaboration Based Guided Discovery Technique using Flash Media with conventional learning.

This research was instigated by Chemistry subject at Senior High School of YLPI Pekanbaru that was dominated by discussion, question, and answer methods.  These methods did not train student ability in the inquiry, it was proven by the low score of student science process skill on Chemical Equilibrium lesson.  This research aimed at knowing the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning model toward student science process skill on Chemical Equilibrium lesson.  Quasi-experimental method was used in this research with pretest posttest control group design.  The samples were the eleventh-grade students of Natural Science 1 as the experimental group and the students of Natural Science 2 as the control group, and each class had 20 students.  Test and observation sheet were the instruments of this research.  The data of science process skill test were analyzed by using statistical test and to test the hypothesis was using t-test.  The calculation result data of the mean difference of both classes showed that the score of tobserved was 8.66 and ttable was 1.69 at 0.05 significant level, so tobserved was higher than ttable.  It showed that Alternative hypothesis was accepted, it meant that Problem Based Learning model was effective to be used toward student science process skill on Chemical Equilibrium lesson, and the effectiveness percentage score was 75%.

This research aim to investigate the effect of learning model to students learning outcomes in environmental pollution subject matter. This research method was quasi experimental design with pretest and posttest control group design. Research population in this research was the whole Grade X students in SMA Negeri 1 Bendahara academic year 2015/2016 as much as 120 students. Samples of this research were 3 regular classes of Grade X with total 90 students. Samples of this research were choosen based on special criteria (purpossive sampling). Data were collected using test instrument. Data analysis technique was using analysis of covarians. The result of study showed that there was a significant effect of learning models (project and problem based learning) to students outcome. (Fcount = 16,46; P = 0,00). Based on this study result, it can be concluded that students outcome which taught using project based learning model was higher than problem based learning and convensional learning models.

This research is based on the low learning outcomes of Citizenship Education for fourth grade students of State Primary School 010, Pulau Aro, Kuantan Tengah Subdistrict, Kuantan Singingi Regency, from 12 students only 5 (41.66%) who achieved the minimum completeness criteria determined by the school at 70 with an average score amounting to 65.4. The research aims to improve the learning outcomes of Citizenship Education through the application of problem based intruction models. The results of the study show, during the learning process before using the problem-based learning model, the average score was 65.4 with incomplete categories and after using the learning model based on the average problem of student learning outcomes in the first cycle to 79.7 with complete categories while in the cycle II has increased again to 87.6 with complete categories. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that through the application of problem-based learning models (Problem Based Intruction) can improve Student Grade 4 Citizenship Education Learning Outcomes of State Primary School 010, Pulau Aro, Kuantan Tengah Subdistrict, Kuantan Singingi Regency.

The ability to solve problems is a skill that students need to have in dealing with various problems in life. This study aims to determine the effect of problem based learning models; cognitive styles and interaction between both factors on science learning outcomes of students in class VII of MTs 2 Tanjung Jabung Timur in academic year 2015/2016. This research was conducted with a quasi-experimental research method by applying a 2 × 2 factorial design. The study sample consisted of an experimental class of 30 students and a control class of 29 students. Data collection was conducted using two types of instruments, namely the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT) to measure students cognitive styles and students' learning outcomes test in essay forms. The Problem Based Learning model affect the learning outcomes, there is significant difference in science learning outcomes between students who have Cognitive field dependent (FD) style that is taught by the Problem Based Learning model and students who have Cognitive FD style that is taught by conventional learning models. The results show that the value of the experimental class post-test is higher than that of the control class. In short, the experimental class with the application of the Problem Based Learning model in the learning process provides higher learning outcomes than that of the conventional models.

The aim of this action research is increasing the activity and learning through the application of sharing knowledge actively learning model with guided discovery method on statistics courses tutorial at open university (UT) study group in Banjarbaru. The subject of this study were Students of UT at, Pendas S-1 class A of PGSD, who took an educational statistics courses (PEMA - 4210) semesters VII, 2011.1 registered.Action research activities divided students into small groups, and each time of the meeting, the tutor provides the Group Worksheet (LKK), which contains materials summary to be studied by each group. Tutor only facilitated groups who had barriers, with reminded to reread LKK, the tutor was not allowed to give a direct answer.During the research activities carried out by using LKK, it could be concluded that students really learned in groups, and they also helped each other between a group with other groups to discuss the material that was less mastered by them.The results showed the use of sharing knowledge actively learning model with guided discovery method, capable to provide assistance students in learning statistical material, and outcomes indicated that PGSD Pendas S-1 class A, who took education statistics (Pema 4210) semesters VII, period 2011.1 were graduated 100 percent.
