Abstract: The aim of this study is revealing the strategies used by 5th -grade students in comparing fractions. In line with this purpose the study is based on qualitative research. Participants of the study conducted with convenient sampling method are seventy 5th -grade students. The students have been asked six questions which necessitate comparison of fraction pairs, considering the sample questions included in mathematics textbook within the limitations of 5th -grade gains on fractions. In addition, for the purpose of revealing the strategies of students in comparing fractions in more detail, face-to-face interviews are held with ten students. The students interviewed have been selected from among those who use different strategies, apply the rules and make faulty reasoning. In order to ensure the validity and reliability of the research, research data are checked by another researcher and similar themes and categories to the ones found by the researcher are reached. Collected data are analyzed by using content analysis and the strategies that the students use in comparing fractions are tried to be determined. As a result of the analyses, it is seen that students mostly prefer "Applying the Rules" where they use procedural information. It is determined that the number of students who prefer "Strategy Development and Discovery" which require conceptual comprehension is less than others. The findings show that consideration of conceptual and procedural comprehension in comparing fractions and not imposing rules on students and ensuring the students reach the rule is important

Competence in an organization or company is important in supporting the performance produced by employees. The management of course will make efforts to increase the competence of its employees with the hope that the performance of the employees will make their work complete and the output produced is of high quality. Recognizing the importance of competence on performance, the authors helped by examining these variables. In this study the researchers collected data by distributing it to all employees at PT Batang Bumi Mandiri with a total of 25, of which the entire population will also be sampled because the sampling method used is the saturated sample technique. In processing this data used statistical data processing tools in the form of SPSS version 26 to assist the author in processing research data. The result of the research is that competence has an effect on performance. The competency variable also has a coefficient of determination of 16.5% to affect performance, while the remaining 83.5% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

AbstractIn Şanlıurfa, Turkey, agriculture is the most important source of income. This study aimed to determine Şanlıurfa farmers’ willingness to pay for drought adaptation policies and the factors affecting their willingness. The data were obtained from face-to-face surveys with farmers, selected using a simple random sampling method. According to the results, 50.26% perceive a risk of drought, and 35.86% are willing to pay for adaptation policies. Among those willing to pay, the average amount was 22.63 $/ha (1$=5.676 Turkish Lira), while the average for all participants was 13.55 $/ha. This adds up to a total of 14.363 million $/year for Şanlıurfa. This amount is 1.47% of the annual average income of the participants and is thus within their ability to pay. Age, amount of land farmed, education level, experience, and income were factors affecting willingness to pay. Many respondents, however, were unaware of drought adaptation policies. Because there is concern that drought risk is increasing, awareness needs to be increased, for example through extension services. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study of its kind, and the results may be useful for creating and applying drought adaptation policies in both Turkey and other regions with similar socio-economic characteristics.

This study aims to analyze the diversity of fish species caught on the Ndalir Coast of Merauke Regency. This research was conducted in Juli-August 2020. The determination of the sampling points at the research location used the purposive random sampling method with two observation stations. Analysis of the research data using relative abundance (Kr), Shannon-Wienner index (H '), uniformity index (E), and dominance index (C), The number of fish catches during the study time was 431 which were divided into 12 species of fish. Station two has a greater number of catches than station one. The highest relative abundance was tongue fish (Cynoglossus abbreviation) (Station I) and mullet (Mugil cephalus) (Station II). The diversity index value at the two observation stations is in the medium category. The uniformity and dominance index values show that the species at the two research stations are evenly distributed with no dominating species.

The purpose of this study was to examine and analyze the impact of accessibility, tourism support facilities and subjective norms on interest in tourist visits at Ora Beach and Banda Island. The population in this study were all tourists who visited 2 tourist sites in Central Maluku Regency, namely Ora Beach and Banda Island. Based on the character inherent in the population, the sampling method used is non-probability sampling through purposive sampling technique with a final sample size of 62 tourists. Testing research data begins with testing research instruments (validity and reliability tests), testing classical assumptions followed by testing multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that accessibility, tourism supporting facilities and subjective norms were proven to have a positive and significant effect on the interest in tourist visits on Ora Beach and Banda Island. This can be proven through the regression coefficient of accessibility, tourism supporting facilities and subjective norms which, if an increase, will be followed by an increase in interest in tourist visits. Thus it can be said that the increase in the value of accessibility, tourism support facilities and subjective norms will encourage an increase in interest in tourist visits on Ora Beach and Banda Island.
