AbstrakTumbuhan senggugu (C. serratum L.) termasuk famili verbenaceae, merupakan salah satu tumbuhan yang cukup dikenal dimasyarakat sebagai tanaman obat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daun senggugu (C. serratum L.) terhadap kualitas sperma mencit (Mus musculus). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental yang menggunakan rancangan percobaan dengan pola Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Penelitian ini terdiri atas dua kelompok kontrol dan lima kelompok perlakuan dengan lama perlakuan 9 dan 18 hari. Setiap kelompok menggunakan 6 ekor mencit, sehingga jumlah mencit keseluruhan adalah 42 ekor. Parameter yang diamati adalah jumlah, motilitas, abnormalitas dan viabilitas sperma mencit. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan Anava dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dilihat dari hasil daun senggugu (C. serratum L.) dapat menurunkan kualitas mencit.Kata kunci : senggugu, mencit dan kulaitas sperma.AbstractPlant senggugu (C.serratum L.) belongs to the family Verbenaceae, which has been recogniced by the public as a medicinal plant. One of them is that it can be used as a drug antifertility in men. The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of ethanol extract and spinasterol of Senggugu ©.Serratum L.) leaves to the sperm quality of mouse (M. musculus) The study is conducted using complete random with 7X2 factor repeated 6 times. The treatment given to the ethanol extract is 250 mg/kg body weight, 500 mg/kg body weight and 1000 mg/kg body weight, as with spinasterol the amount is 26 mg/kg body weight and 52 mg/kg body weight, and as its controlling agent distilled water and DMSO solution is used. The treatment is given orally once a day within 9and 18 days as much as 0,5 ml. Cauda epididymal sperm suspension was used to measure the quality of the sperm of mice. Data were analyzed by ANOVA followed by Duncan test. Based on observation and statistical analysis it has been found that theethanol and spinasterol extract treatment of senggugu leaves using a diffrent dosage has shown a significant effects to the parameters being studied namely increased abnormality of sperm and decreased in number of sperm, percentage of motolityand viability sperm.Keyword : Clerodendron serattum, senggugu, Mus musculus, Spermatozoa, Ethanol extract, Spinasterol

This study aims to determine changes related to epididymal sperm parameters in mice given cogon grass root ethanol extract (CGREE). The experiment was carried out by dividing three groups of mice aged 4-week old (early pubertal), 8-week old (adult), and 24-week old (old) as control and treatment groups. The treatment groups were given 115 mg/kg body weight of CGREE for 14 days. The mice were sacrificed on day 15 to asses reproductive organ indexes and quality of the epididymal sperm. Index of epididymis and ductus deferens indices significantly reduced in the 4-week old treatment group compared to control (0.23 vs 0.33; 0.08 vs 0.16,  respectively), and vesical seminal significantly reduced in 8- week old treatment group compared to control (0.76  vs  0.68). The epididymal sperm quality significantly decreased in all treatment groups, but the sperm concentration in early pubertal group showed an increase. These results indicate that CGREE can enhance several semen parameters in prepubertal and adult mice but this effect is not apparent in old mice.

AbstrakIndonesia memiliki banyak tumbuhan berpotensi obat salah satunya bisa dijadikan sebagai obatkontrasepsi tradisonal yang biasa digunakan untuk menjarangkan anak atau sterilisasi sepertirebusan akar Caesalpinia bonduc (Aru). Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh obatkontrasepsi tradisional air rebusan akar aru terhadap kualitas pematangan sperma epididimis mencit(Mus musculus). Mencit dipilih secara acak untuk mewakili 4 kelompok dosis yaitu : 0,0 (K0), 16,0(K1) 24,0 (K2) dan 32,0 (K3) μl/gram berat badan/hari. Setiap kelompok perlakuan dilakukandengan 5 kali replikasi. Perlakuan diberikan melalui oral dengan menggunakan jarum gavage selama10 hari berturut-turut. Pembedahan dilakukan pada hari pertama setelah perlakuan selesai.Pengamatan kualitas sperma epididimis dengan perhitungan produksi sperma, % sperm motil, %sperma hidup, % sperma abnormal,dan rangking keaktifan sperma. Untuk mengetahui ada atautidaknya perbedaan yang bermakna antar perlakuan dalam kelompok dilakukan uji Anava satu arah,bila terdapat perbedaan bermakna dilanjutkan uji BNJ untuk membandingkan angka rata-rata antarkelompok perlakuan. Pemberian air rebusan akar Caesalpinea bonduc pada mencit menunjukanpengaruh perbedaan secara signifikan pada jumlah (%) sperma abnormal antara dosis 0,0 μl dengan24,0 dan 32,0 μl serta antara 16,0 μl dengan 24,0 dan 32,0 μl; Jumlah (%) sperma hidup terdapatperbedaan antara dosis 0,0 μl dengan 16,0 , 24,0 dan 32,0 μl; Jumlah (%) sperma motil terdapatperbedaan antara dosis 0,0 μl dengan 24,0 dan 32,0 μl; Rangking keaktifan sperma terdapatperbedaan antara dosis 0,0 μl dengan 24,0 dan 32,0 μl. Pemberian rebusan akar aru berpengaruhsecara signifikan terhadap peningkatan persen sperma abnormal, dan penuruan persen sperma hidup,motil dan keaktifan.AbstractIndonesia has many species of plants that have potent of medicine, one of them cold be as antraditional contraception medicine ussually used to limit child or sterilizatiom such as root boiledwater of Caesalpinia bonduc. The aims of this study is to know the effect of root boiled water ofCaesalpinia bonduc as traditional contraception medicine on quality of sperm maturation ofepididymis of mice (Mus musculus). Mice were choosed radomly and doses gouped: 0,0 (K0 ), 16,0(K1) 24,0 (K2) and 32,0 (K3) μl/gram body weight/day. Each of group was replicated 5 times.Treatment were given by oral with using gavage needle for ten days. Surgery was carried out on firstday after completing treatments. Examination of epidymis sperm by counting number of spermproduction, percentage of motil, live, abnormal sperm, and rank of sperm motility. In order to knowthe deferences between control and treated group, was used one way anava analysis and analysedvalue for comparing between teratment group. The treatments of root boiled water of Caesalpiniabonduc have effect significantly on percentage of abnormal sperm between dose of 0,0 μl with 24,0and 32,0 μl, also between 16,0 μl with 24,0 and 32,0 μl. Percentage of live sperem is different betweendose of 0,0 μl with 16,0 , 24,0 and 32,0 μl. Percentage of motile sperm is defferent significantlybetween dose of 0,0 μl with 24,0 and 32,0 μl. Meanwhile percentage of motile rank has differencebetween dose of 0,0 μl with 24,0 and 32,0 μl. The treatment of root boiled water of Caesalpiniabonduc has effect signifiantly on increasing percentange of sperm abnormality, decreasingpercentage of life sperm, motile and rank of motile of mice sperm.

Introduction: Parkia biglobosa belong to the family mimosaceae and Acanthus montanus belong to the family acanthaceae. The plants both have a multipurpose use as herbal medicine. Aim: This work investigate the pharmacognostic standard and anti-dysentery activity of the mixed ethanol extract of both plants on E. histolytical induced dysentery. Method: The phytochemical, chemo microscopy and proximate analysis were carried out using the standard procedures. The mixed extract of ratio 50:50 was administered to different groups of rats at different doses. Loperamide was administered as standard drug. The change in faecal consistency was observed and recorded. Result: The phytochemical analysis shows the presence of alkaloids, tannins, proteins, glycosides and carbohydrates. Chemomicroscopy of both plants showed the presence of starch, calcium oxalate, lignin, cellulose. While the extractive value analysis gave 25.0% and 32.7% for water extractive value and ethanol extractive value respectively (for Acanthus montanus) and 23.0% and 30.0% for water extractive value and ethanol extractive value respectively (for Parkiabiglobosa). The absence of death at 5000mg/kg of the extract shows that the lethal dose of the ethanol extract of the plant mixture is higher than 5000mg/kg which may be an indication of safety of the mixture. The anti-dysentery activity of the mixture of both plants with different concentration of 250mg/kg, 500mg/kg, 1000mg/kg body weight of ethanol extract showed a significant change in the faecal consistency of the rats. The effect obtained on the administration of 500mg/kg body weight of the extract mixture is more comparable to the standard (loperamide). Conclusion: The synergistic use of the extract contains the secondary metabolites glycosides, alkaloids, flavonoids, which may be responsible for their anti-dysentery synergistic activity. Mixed extracts from both leaves of P. biglobosa and A. montanus can be recommended as an anti-dysentery agent.

Microscopically evaluated sperm parameters, as well as computer-aided sperm motility analysis (CASMA), were used to assess sperm quality and the effect of cryopreservation on ram semen obtained from two genetically diverse Merino lines. These lines were divergently selected on maternal ranking values for multiple rearing ability from the same base population since 1986. Replacements in the high (+) line were preferentially the progeny of ewes rearing >1 lamb per joining. Progeny of ewes rearing <1 lamb per joining was preferred as replacements in the low (–) line. Sperm quality, as assessed by percentages of live, abnormal and acrosome-intact spermatozoa as well as by motility, was independent (P≤0.20) of line, time of sampling and their interaction in ejaculated samples obtained from the eight rams used as sires in 1995. Sperm quality of frozen–thawed samples was adversely affected (P≤0.01) by cryopreservation and thawing at 35˚C for 30 s relative to fresh ejaculated samples. No consistent differences between lines were found in epididymal sperm samples obtained from 12 slaughtered rams (6 from each line). The adverse effect (P≤0.05) of cryopreservation and thawing at 35˚C for 30 s on sperm viability and motility was also demonstrated for these samples.

The Marriage Guidance and Conservation Advisory Board (BP4) is a semi-official body or institution whose task is to assist the Ministry of Religion in improving the quality of marriage by developing a sakinah family movement and religious education in the family environment. The Marriage Guidance and Conservation Advisory Board (BP4) is one of the institutions that provide guidance and insight into marital issues to the public. By paying attention to the duties of the Marriage Guidance and Conservation Advisory Board (BP4), information on the role of the advisory body in contributing to marital matters will be obtained. As explained in Article 1 of the Marriage Law No. 1 of 1974 stated that marriage is an inner bond between a man and a woman as a husband and wife with the aim of forming a happy family (eternal) based on the Godhead of God Almighty, so that the purpose of the law is not enough to just bond , but must include both. Therefore, marriage is carried out bysomeone who is old enough no matter the profession, ethnicity, wealth, place of residence and so on. Everyone who is going to get married doesn't all understand the nature of marriage and the purpose of marriage is to get true happiness in the household. Marriage is not just a gathering of two people on one roof then gets offspring, not for a while but for a lifetime. To realize a prosperous and peaceful society, it must begin with family coaching first. If all families who are members of the community are prosperous, then the community will be happy. The family is the smallest element of a society, while a family is formed through marriage. Marriage is a means to form a household as a bond that is recognized by the community where they live as a legitimate husband and wife.   Abstrak Badan Penasehat Pembinaan dan Pelestarian Perkawinan (BP4) merupakan badan atau lembaga semi resmi yang bertugas membantu Departemen Agama dalam meningkatkan mutu perkawinan dengan mengembangkan gerakan keluarga sakinah dan pendidikan agama di lingkungan keluarga. Badan Penasehat Pembinaan dan Pelestarian Perkawinan  (BP4) ini adalah salah satu lembaga yang memberikan bimbingan dan penasihatan tentang masalah perkawinan kepada masyarakat. Dengan memperhatikan tugas-tugas Badan Penasehat Pembinaan dan Pelestarian Perkawinan (BP4) akan diperoleh keterangan seberapa besar peranan badan penasihat ini dalam ikut menangani masalah perkawinan. Sebagaimana dijelaskan dalam pasal 1 Undang-Undang Perkawinan No. 1 Tahun 1974 dinyatakan bahwa perkawinan adalah ikatan lahir batin diantara seorang pria dengan seorang wanita sebagai suami istri dengan tujuan membentuk keluarga (rumah tangga) yang bahagia, kekal berdasarkan Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa, sehingga maksud dari UU tersebut tidaklah cukup hanya ikatan lahir/batin saja, akan tetapi harus mencakup kedua-duanya. Oleh sebab itu, Perkawinan dilaksanakan oleh seseorang yang sudah cukup umur tidak peduli profesi, suku bangsa, kekayaan, tempat tinggal dan lain sebagainya. Setiap orang yang akan melangsungkan perkawinan tidak semuanya dapat memahami hakikat perkawinan dan tujuan perkawinan yaitu mendapatkan kebahagiaan sejati dalam rumah tangga. Perkawinan bukan sekedar berkumpulnya dua orang manusia dalam satu atap kemudian mendapat keturunan, bukan pula untuk sementara waktu tapi untuk seumur hidup. Untuk mewujudkan masyarakat yang sejahtera dan damai harus dimulai dari pembinaan keluarga terlebih dahulu. Jika semua keluarga yang merupakan anggota masyarakat sejahtera, maka akan sejahteralah masyarakat. Keluarga adalah unsur terkecil dari suatu masyarakat, sedangkan keluarga terbentuk harus melalui perkawinan. Perkawinan merupakan sarana untuk membentuk rumah tangga sebagai sebuah ikatan yang diakui oleh masyarakat di mana mereka tinggal sebagai suami istri yang sah. Diabetes mellitus is one of desease that have a large population and trend to increase. sulfonylurea and biguanide are almost used treatment but have unexpected side effects. The research still necessary to seek alternative medicine, such as Piper crocatum.This study aimed to determine the effect of ethanol extract of red betel leaves on blood sugar levels and body weight of mice (Mus musculus L.) diabetes. This riset was started to produce simplicia and drilled become powders, continued extract with 70% ethanol. The extract was evaporated with rotary evaporator until obtaine crude extract. And then screen it that determine phytochemical. To continued test on tolerance of level of glucose then mice diabetes induced aloxan.In summary, extract of red betle ethanolic has contained alkaloid, quercetin flavonoid, steroid and fenolic compounds and decreased level of glucose in blood mice diabetes. Besides, it can reduce lose of weight symptom.

Feeding trial was carried out to evaluate sperm quality of Clarias anguillaris broodstock fed varying inclusion levels of goron tula, Azanza garckeana pulp meal. The fish (mean weight 500g) were randomly distributed in concrete tanks (2 x 2 x 1.2m) at nine fish/tank in triplicates. Five isonitrogenous diets (40% CP) were formulated with the pulp meal incorporated at the rate of 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20% of the diet. Fish were fed at 3% of body weight for 56days. At the end of the feeding trial, results showed that dietary A. garckeana significantly (p<0.05) improved the milt quality of C. anguillaris. The broodfish fed 20% A. garckeana inclusion level had the highest (p<0.05) milt volume, sperm motility duration, testes lobe lengths, and whole sperm count while the least values of these variables were observed in group fed with the control diet (0% inclusion level). The findings conclusively revealed that increase in the level of A. garckeana pulp meal in the diet resulted into increase in sperm quality of C. anguillaris. Thus, the pulp meal can be freely utilized in catfish production in terms of sperm quality for mass fingerling production.
