Introduction: In recent years, attention has been drawn toward assessing the effectiveness of an oral health education program, especially for preschool students, in order to improve oral hygiene status. There is a difference in the level of ability and learning methods based on age. For early childhood, they tend to imitate the things they see, both people and multimedia images. This research was aimed to analyse the effectiveness of educational video in improving oral hygiene level in preschool students. Methods: This type of research was quasi-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. The sampling method was the total sampling and obtained 40 subjects. The research population was all students in Al Azhar Kindergarten aged 4-6 years and met the inclusion criteria. Greene and Vermilion Plaque Index was applied to measure the oral hygiene status of each subject before and after the intervention with educational video. The intervention consisted of four meetings; each meeting consisted of before and after plaque index measurement and also after watching the educational video. Data were analysed using t-paired statistical analysis. Results: The result showed a comparison of difference of the plaque index value change on the day I with day VII, which obtained the t-value = 3.365, higher than the t-table = 2.02. Conclusion: Educational video is effective in improving oral hygiene in preschool students by reducing the plaque accumulation.

Primary school is a very strategic place for the prevention of dental and oral diseases. Delivering counseling material in learning oral health requires media. One of the media in dental and oral health education is through counseling using audio media. This audio media contains messages about dental health that are played at school every morning and can be exposed and heard every day so elementary school children can behave well in dental health. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of audio media outreach programs to the knowledge and level of dental and mouth hygiene of students at State Primary School 26 Kalimas Tengah, Kubu Raya Regency in 2019. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a Pre-Post observation research design. The samples of this study were 68 people which were class III, IV and V. The results showed the average rank of knowledge index before counseling with audio media was 8.928 and p was 0.020 (p<0.05) with index of dental and oral hygiene level was 0,00 and p of 0,000 (p<0.05). Meanwhile, after counseling with audio media was 9,500 and p of 0.020 (p<0.05) with a level of dental and oral hygiene of 35.00 and p of 0,000 (p<0,05). The conclusion of this study is counseling with audio media is more effective in increasing knowledge which can improve oral and dental hygiene

Changes in Fitness index values, monitored by the Urho Kaleva Kekkonen (UKK) Walking test, were examined in this study due to its practical application in the assessment of aerobic capacity, especially after planned wellness activities of moderate intensity. This research is designed as a quasi-experimental uncontrolled before and after study, and according to it, Fitness index values obtained by the UKK test and body mass index (BMI) were evaluated before and after 8 weeks of planned wellness activities (recreational swimming). After the wellness activity, the average Fitness index value was increased by 1.13% (the difference was statistically significant with p = 0.000) while BMI value was significantly decreased by 1.82% (p = 0.000). Considering our results, the Fitness index could have practical importance for the assessment of endurance performance in man. That means that Fitness index can be used for estimating aerobic capacity and effect of wellness on health improvement and disease prevention.

Irrational use or misuse of antibiotics, particularly by outpatients, increases antibiotic resistance. A lack of public knowledge about ‘Responsible use of antibiotics’ and ‘How to obtain antibiotics’ is a major cause of this. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of an educational video about antibiotics and antibiotics use to increase outpatient's knowledge in two public hospitals in East Java, Indonesia. A quasi-experimental research setting was used with a one-group pretest-posttest design, carried out from November 2018 to January 2019. The study population consisted of outpatients, to whom antibiotics were prescribed, in two public hospitals in East Java, Indonesia. Participants were selected using a purposive sampling technique; 98 outpatients at MZ General Hospital in S regency and 96 at SG General Hospital in L regency were included. A questionnaire was used to measure the respondents’ knowledge and consisted of five domains, i.e. definition of infections and antibiotics, obtaining the antibiotics, directions of use, storage instructions, antibiotic resistance. The knowledge test score was the total score of the Guttman scale (a dichotomy of ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answers). To determine the significance of the difference in knowledge before and after providing the educational video and in the knowledge score between hospitals, the (paired) Student’s t-test was applied. The educational videos significantly improved outpatients' knowledge, which increased with 41% in MZ General Hospital and 42% in SG General Hospital. An educational video is a useful method to improve the knowledge of the outpatients regarding antibiotics.
