Abstract The main aim of the article is to present the results of research concerning the reconstruction of the identity of people with disabilities who practice Race Running. In the scientific literature focused on disability, sport is presented as one of the important elements serving for the reconstruction of the identity of people with disabilities and their integration, inclusion with the surrounding social world. However, previous studies did not analyze in this context the role of Race Running, which is a niche, developing sport discipline. Therefore, this article fills a significant gap in the scientific literature dedicated to the role of sport in the reconstruction of the identity of people with disabilities by undertaking an analysis of sport, which has not been the subject of research so far. Starting from the concept of ‘pendulum’ developed by Karen K. Yoshida, the following article provides a model of identity reconstruction based on five processes: Socialising, Becoming independent, Exposing, Proving, Realizing. The conceptualization of this model is based on the results of qualitative research using the in-depth interview technique. The respondents were people with disabilities practicing Race Running in Poland, their family members and their coaches. The results of the research show not only the possibilities for people with disabilities, which comes with practicing Race Running, but also limitations, because the specificity and technical requirements of this sport mean that its benefits can only be used by people with a certain type of disability.

The authors have considered the topic, rarely mentioned in the scientific literature, which are the inscriptions and symbols placed on polonical banners. A three-volume dissertation by Monika Salmon-Siama, entitled Vexillological heritage of the Polish immigration in northern France (1919-2018), turned out to be a contributing factor to this kind of scientific digression. In the introduction, they analyzed the state of research on Polish emigration, settled in northern France, indicating the main reasons for their poor representativeness in comparison with the entire emigre history of the Polish diaspora. Referring to the proper vexological studies, they brought closer the richness of sources that we deal with in the discussed region, and then showed the complexity of this type of bibliological-semiotic research. Taking up the subject matter from the Westphalian-French borderline, inevitably, after M. Salmon Siama, they showed aesthetic and axiological values, including patriotic values, a group of symbols and inscriptions discussed, and in turn showed the durability of the Polish immigrant identity of subsequent generations living in northern France. The article is also an attempt to show the reader the diversity and richness of organizational and social life over almost a century, introduces the mentality and customs of the Polish Diaspora, and shows the underestimated role of the Polish banner.

Vitamin D, conceptually, is a pre-hormone. Many studies have shown that the vitamin D deficiency may be associated to a higher incidence of autoimmune diseases, including Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. So, this work’s purpose is identify what the scientific literature approaches about the vitamin D, highlighting its immunomodulatory role with the Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. We used the article survey that ran upon the subject in the Medline, Scielo and Lilacs databases with the descriptors: vitamin D, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and autoimmune disease. The selected articles pointed out higher prevalence in the vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency in Lupus patients. In these, the supplementation appeared to improve the disease activity and inflammatory markers and shows a tendency for subsequent clinical improvement. However, there is a lack of adequate intake guidelines. In this way, researches about the best dosage of vitamin D are needed for these patients in order to improve their condition.

In the article synergetic consideration of the subject’s nature, based on the principles of self-organization of highly organized systems is proposed. On the basis of analysis of scientific literature three types of scientific cognition are distinguished, which differ from each other by approaches to the understanding of integrity of researched object, to the role of environment, in which object functions and to the possible positions of researcher toward the object of research. These types of cognition correspond to three types of organization of integrity: a mechanism, a system, and a text. Type of scientific rationality, used by researcher, determines the complexity of constructed theoretical model of the subject. Functioning of vital activities of the subject is possible in three dimensions: holistic physical world, systematic aggregate of social spaces and text of vital activities, which is (re)constructed by subject during his life. These dimensions correspond to the next models of inner organization of subject: holistic subject, management system for his vital activities, self-organization of the text of discourse, which determines the life goals of subject. Synergetic consideration of the nature of subject leads to integrative analysis of subject as an autonomous integrity, a part of social spaces and a tool of self-organization of vital activities’ text. Likeness of structure of inner subject’s organization let to researcher on the basis of studying of separate fragments of vital activities of the subject to reconstruct the holistic model of subject.

The article considers the topical problem of neurology, neurobiology and cognitive psychology — the question of pathogenetic mechanisms of origin and development of unilateral neglect after a cerebral infarction. The paper analyzes the scientific literature on the neuropsychological signs of hemineglect syndrome, its causes, features, manifestations and methods of rehabilitation. The role of the laws of neuroaesthetics in the perception and reproduction of environmental information in the brain is shown. New data on the peculiarities of the influence of the laws of neuroaesthetics on the process of the unilateral neglect formation are presented. It is emphasized that the principles of neuroaesthetics in oxidative stress after vascular catastrophe of the brain create conditions for the development of the pathological circle, the manifestation of which is lack of attention and loss of ability to respond to stimuli in one half of the field of view. It is determined that the exact neuroanatomy of unilateral neglect is complex and remains the subject of future researches for further cognitive rehabilitation of patients after cerebral infarction.
