Product competitiveness that must be high in the MEA era does not only apply to industrial products, but also to fruit, including duku. The objectives of this study are (1)to explore consumer behavior in the duku fruit purchase decision process in the MEA era and (2)analyze consumer preferences for the fruit attributes so that it can be known what the ideal duku design is according to consumers. To explore consumer behavior used descriptive analysis, while for analyzing consumer preferences towards attributes using conjoined analysis. From the results of the study, consumer behavior through five stages, namely the introduction of needs, information search, alternative evaluation, purchase and post-purchase. From the results of the analysis, the thing that is considered most important in choosing the fruit attributes of duku is taste, seed size, price, fruit size, hardness of flesh, color of flesh, spots on the skin and skin color. Based on the results of consumer preference analysis, it can be concluded that consumers prefer duku which has the characteristics of sweetness, a small size of seeds, the price is less than IDR 8,000, the size of a large, flesh soft, clear color of flesh, spots are small and yellow skin color.

This research aims to determine the consumers’ characteristics, the stages of decision making, and consumers satisfaction on buying ABMJ grilled chicken through Gojek e-commerce in Bandar Lampung.  The location was determined purposively, in which samples were 65 people.  The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis method, Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA).  The research showed that the consumers who bought ABMJ through Gofood were mainly single women around 19-24 years old, had bachelor degree, and had monthly income around IDR2,600,000.00-IDR3,500,000.00.  The consumer's decision making process was conducted through the introduction of needs, information search, alternative evaluation, purchase decision, and post-purchase evaluation.  Ease of purchase encouraged consumers to make transaction through Gofood and consumed ABMJ grilled chicken for their meals.  Consumers acquired the resources and information by their friends who had consumed ABMJ grilled chicken.  Price and advertisement in Gofood feature was highly considered by consumers.  The consumers made purchases depending on the circumstances, so there was no planning before and more than three purchases made in the last three months. Consumers were satisfied and would still buy even if the price of the ABMJ grilled chicken increases.  The value of CSI was 79.22 percent; it showed that the customers had been completely satisfied.  Based on the IPA analysis, customers valued that information clarity, photographic clarity, delivery time, and the safety of maintaining confidentiality of consumer’s identity should be improved.Key words: CSI, IPA, purchasing decision, satisfaction

The purpose of this study is to describe the decision making process of purchasing hydroponic vegetables. This research conducted in Bandar Lampung City. The study was conducted on 42 consumers of hydroponic vegetables and 42 non-hydroponic consumers. This research requires a qualitative method approach. Analysis of the stages of consumer purchasing decision-making process used to determine consumer behavior in making purchases of hydroponic and non hydroponic vegetables. Happy Cow Steak is a restaurant in Bogor which offers western menu with steak as its main product. The aim of this research was to find out the characteristic of Happy Cow Steak’s consumers, buying decision process, and consumer satisfaction. There were 90 respondents participating in this reserach. The methods used in this study were descriptive analysis, Importance Performance Analysis (IPA), and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). The research showed that the majority of consumers who visited Happy Cow Steak Restaurant were women, 21-30 years old, income between Rp 500.000 to Rp 1.499.999 per month, bachelors and senior high school, graduate students, not married, and lived in Bogor. There were five stages which the happy cow steak consumers had in their buying decision making process, i.e. need recognition, information search, alternative evaluation, purchase decision, and post-purchase behavior. Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) showed that the steak cutlery availability, restaurant cleanness, and restaurant comfort were the priority to be improved to meet customer satisfaction. Based on Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) test, consumer satisfaction level of Happy Cow Steak Restaurant was 71, 94 percent implying that the customers were satisfied.

Sago is a potential source of food with high calories and carbohydrates (rice equivalent). Sago consumer preferences can provide important information in making marketing strategy sago, and also is one of the indicators of market demand for the products of sago. The purpose of this study were to understand the srage of the purchase decision process undertaken by consumers of sago; analyze the level of customer satisfaction with sago attributes associated from sago; and analyze the consumer preference for various atrributes inherent in sago. The study was conducted in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Respondents were all members of a population of 21 respondents consisting of 15 restaurant owners who provide meals made from sago and 6 owners agro-industry made from raw sago. The study used Engel Model Analysis, Costumer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Analysis, and Conjoint Analysis. The results of the analysis gives an overview of some consumer behavior based on the decision-making process shows that the benefits sought in the purchase buy sago sago is as a raw material to be processed into a menu of traditional food and traditional cakes Kendari. Color sago is the main thing, which will be seen and considered by consumers to make purchases between and will buy sago in traditional markets as close to the place of business. The level of consumer satisfaction in this study were satisfied with the preference category that consumers like sago with normal color (pure white), normal scent (odorless), low prices and package sizes are 20 kg. The resulting combination of sago four attributes (color, flavor, price and package sizes) is acceptable to describe consumers' desire sago in Kendari. Abstract: The emergence of a wide variety of herbal medicinal products requires marketers to better understand consumer behavior. The various brands offered make consumers tend to have certain preferences before making a purchase decision. This study aims to determine the attributes of herbal medicinal products that determine the level of consumer preference in the purchasing process and the closeness of the attributes to consumer preferences. The method used is interviews with consumers which are then processed with conjoint analysis to determine the attributes that are most important to consumers in making a purchase. The research concludes that the most important attributes in purchasing herbal medicine in order from the most important are the properties, price, expiration time and packaging. There is a close relationship between the combination of attributes studied and consumer preferences for herbal medicine. This study is limited to four attributes and does not use ranking ratings on the stimulus or combination of attributes, consumer behavior. A sample survey of consumer preferences was conducted in order to determine what characteristics should be given highest priority in a pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) breeding program for Puerto Rico. A total of 527 people from all regions of the island participated in the survey. Very few preference differences were found due to regions, age groups, sex, or frequency of consumption. Pulp color was the most important characteristic considered when purchasing pumpkin. Most participants preferred an orange-yellow internal color. Skin color was also an important consideration. Respondents strongly preferred a 'pinta' or piebald pumpkin skin. Fruit size was important to many surveyed: most preferred a medium size fruit. Most respondents said they bought pieces rather than whole fruit. Skin type and fruit shape were not important considerations for most respondents. In addition to selection for increased yield, a pumpkin breeding program for Puerto Rico should emphasize selection of genotypes with deep orange-yellow pulp, a 'pinta' skin color and medium-sized fruits.

The role of potential motivations for psychotherapy training is receiving growing attention in the context of psychotherapy research. The present study examines the entire decision-making process for undertaking psychotherapy training in Italian psychology graduates. This is a quali-quantitative study using mixed methods and recruiting from a convenience sample. An on-line questionnaire - with open-ended questions about problem/need recognition, information search, alternative evaluation, purchase, and post-purchase outcomes - was administered to psychology graduates interested in, undertaking or having already completed psychotherapy training (as types of respondents), overall including 549 participants (86 % females, Mage = 36.27 years). The strategy of analysis consisted of computer-aided text analysis (by using T-Lab software) and content analysis for examining responses and identifying the main themes for each open-ended question. Then, a cluster analysis was performed for grouping respondents from the previously detected themes. Three different clusters of participants were detected (respectively composed of 14.6 %, 51.2 % and 34.2 %) that were different by age, F (2, 455) = 11.878, p < .001, and type of respondents, χ² (4, N = 459) = 27.588, p < .001. Such clusters were mainly featured by different key factors for selecting a psychotherapy school, orientation preferences and motivations for psychotherapy training (p < .05, at 95 % confidence level). Overall, the results highlighted the perception of a gap in previous academic training, a reduced focus on professional development and the use of rigid strategies as critical issues related to the decision to undertake psychotherapy training.

Abstract In Brazil, there are few studies and information available on consumer preferences for peaches and nectarines. This lack of information, has hindered some aspects of the production chain, as the choice and exploitation of more appropriate cultivars, offer periods, adoption of marketing and marketing strategies, consequently affecting the availability and commercialization of fruits. This study aimed to analyze the consumer preference of peaches and nectarines, evaluate the traits observed for their acquisition, and the marketplace where they are preferably purchased. The research was carried out from November 2016 to February 2017, using the descriptive research methodology, by Survey method and Web 2.0. A structured questionnaire was applied with closed questions. An online form questionnaire was prepared using the Google docs application and also distributed online, through the internet social Medias. 610 people participated in the survey, with predominance of consumers living in the South and Southeast regions of the country, in the age groups of 21 to 30 years old, with a predominance of female participants. Consumption is mainly in the in natura form, and often predominates certain times a year. Consumers buy these fruits mainly in the supermarkets/hypermarkets. The consumers of peaches and nectarines in Brazil have a higher preference for fruits with yellow flesh and red epidermis, followed by fruits with white flesh and intense red epidermis, both preferably with free stone. The main criteria for the acquisition of peaches and nectarines in Brazil are fruit appearance (presence and/or absence of defects, bruises, etc.); followed by price, color of epidermis and fruit size.

Segmentation has been frequently used to study individual consumer behavior against its preference. Consumer preferences indicate consumer requirements for a product. This study aims to analyze consumer preferences based on gender segmentation (male and female) and age segmentation (adolescents, adults, and elderl y). Consumer preferences wer e studied based on three aspects, namely functionality, usability, and pleasure that are applied to food products. Respondents consisted of 225 consumers of ice cream products. Crosstab analysis was used to describe consumer preferences, while chi-square test was applied to analyse the difference of consumer preference based on predetermined segmentation. The result showed that there was no significant difference for male and female consumer preferences for three aspects. Furthermore, on the attributes of taste (functionality), shape (usability) and appearance (pleasure) there were significant differences. Based on the age segmentation there were differences in consumer preferences for aspects of functionality and pleasure. Howe ver, we also found that there was no significant difference in product attributes of those aspects, except for the colour attribute. Different consumer preferences obtained in different segments can be used as a reference to customer requirements for design ing customized products. Ultimately, the products can be tailored to consumer preferences in each segment.

Apple fruit size preferences are known to vary among consumer populations. Characteristic commercial fruit size varies among apple-growing regions within Canada for a given cultivar. Canadian consumer preferences for apple size are not well documented, nor is it known whether preferences vary among regions. In this study, 586 consumers from British Columbia, Ontario and Nova Scotia were asked to rate a series of apple sizes using the affective “Just Right” scale. Ideal fruit size was similar regardless of province or consumer gender. Age groups differed slightly in fruit size preference. The Just Right score was a linear function of fruit diameter for all groups. The fruit diameter considered ideal for dessert use ranged from 7.4 to 7.6 cm among the age groups.
