In most of the cities of the Colombian Caribbean, the emission factors associated to road traffic have not yet been estimated, due to the shortage of technical and economic resources. The authorities of some municipalities across Colombia have developed emission inventories adopting emission factors from other countries and, although these inventories are theoretically approximate, results indicate that road traffic is a source of emission of significant amounts of pollutants into the atmosphere. Studies conducted in 2013 by the Institute of Immunological Research (IIR), associated with the University of Cartagena, determined that the concentrations of CO and PM2.5 which were recorded throughout the city generally increased in the vicinity of the main roads. The present study aims to estimate the concentration of air pollutants generated by road traffic on the main roads of the city of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, taking into account the critical points of increased vehicular flow. The upper limits of the emission factors values applying the inverse modeling technique were estimated for CO and PM2.5 considering average concentrations obtained for 24 hours of the pollutants that represent a greater threat to public health, as well as effects of weather conditions and urban morphology. This study is a starting point to determine the magnitude of the emission associated with road traffic in Cartagena and also provides technical support to be able to identify approximately the impact of different vehicle sources in the city. Finally, this article aims to propitiate applicable tools for the authorities to develop effective mitigation and/or control strategies pointed at minimizing the impact of vehicle emissions on the Cartagena inhabitants’ health.

Continuous, automatic measurements of road traffic volume allow the obtaining of information on daily, weekly or seasonal fluctuations in road traffic volume. They are the basis for calculating the annual average daily traffic volume, obtaining information about the relevant traffic volume, or calculating indicators for converting traffic volume from short-term measurements to average daily traffic volume. The covid-19 pandemic has contributed to extensive social and economic anomalies worldwide. In addition to the health consequences, the impact on travel behavior on the transport network was also sudden, extensive, and unpredictable. Changes in the transport behavior resulted in different values of traffic volume on the road and street network than before. The article presents road traffic volume analysis in the city before and during the restrictions related to covid-19. Selected traffic characteristics were compared for 2019 and 2020. This analysis made it possible to characterize the daily, weekly and annual variability of traffic volume in 2019 and 2020. Moreover, the article attempts to estimate daily traffic patterns at particular stages of the pandemic. These types of patterns were also constructed for the weeks in 2019 corresponding to these stages of the pandemic. Daily traffic volume distributions in 2020 were compared with the corresponding ones in 2019. The obtained results may be useful in terms of planning operational and strategic activities in the field of traffic management in the city and management in subsequent stages of a pandemic or subsequent pandemics.

ABSTRAK             Pembangunan ekonomi daerah khususnya Pemerintah Kota merupakan titik awal pelaksanaan pembangunan, sehingga daerah diharapkan bisa lebih mengetahui potensi dan apa yang menjadi kebutuhan daerahnya salah satunya peningkatan Pendapatan dan Pertumbuhan ekonomi melalui proses pemugutan pajak Hotel dan Restoran guna dampak sesuai yang diharapkan.            Dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis potensi dan efektivitas Pajak Hotel dan Restoranserta dampaknya terhadap Pendapatan Asli Daerah dan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi di Kabupaten Minahasa.            Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pajak Hotel dan Restoran masih kurang berpotensi, sementara untuk tingkat efektivitas, Pajak Hotel dan Restoran menunjukkan angka yang efektif yakni rata-rata diatas 100%, dan secara bersama variabel Pajak Hotel dan Restoran memberikan pengaruh yang positif terhadap Pendapatan Asli Daerah, begitu pula secara bersamaan variabel Pajak Hotel dan restoran serta Pendapatan Asli Daerah memberikan pengaruh yang positif terhadap tingkat pertumbuhan ekonomi yang ada di Kabuaten Minahasa. Kata Kunci : Pendapatan Asli Daerah, Pertumbuhan Ekonomi, Pajak Hotel dan Restoran  ABSTRACT             Economic development areas especially the city is the starting point of construction , so that the regions is expected to be more aware of their potential and what has been one of the needs of the regions increase in income and economic growth through a tax collection hotel and restaurant to the impact as expected.            In this study aims to to analyze the all the potential and the effectiveness of tax hotel tax and restoranserta what effect it had on the regional genuine income and economic growth in kabupaten Minahasa .            Based on the research shows that hotel and restaurant tax potential is weak , while the effectiveness , hotel and restaurant tax shows a figure that is effective and above 100% , and together the hotel and restaurant tax positive impact on local revenue , this is also at the same time the hotel and restaurant tax and local revenue positive impact on the economic growth is in kabupaten Minahasa . Keyword : Local revenue, economic growth, hotel and restaurant taxes

e18785 Background: The novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has disrupted health care systems worldwide. In Brazil, the disease had its first case in the city of São Paulo, thus being the starting point and epicenter of this disease in Latin America. Neurological features are currently well recognized in COVID-19 indicating the neurotropic nature of the virus and include anosmia, myalgia, myositis, encephalitis, meningitis, cerebrovascular disease, Guillain–Barré syndrome, and post-infectious myelitis. CNS tumors though relatively rare (> 2% of all cancers) are a relevant source of cancer-related morbi-mortality worldwide. Although studies have reported higher COVID-19 severity in cancer patients, the consequences of the pandemic on health care for CNS tumors remain inconclusive and will probably be felt for decades. This study aimed to determine the impact of pandemic on the hospital admissions (HA) due to CNS tumors in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study of the HAs due to CNS tumors in the city of São Paulo comparing the outbreak period (January-June 2020) and a pre-pandemic corresponding period of the years 2017-2019. Data were obtained from the Brazilian Unified Health System - Hospital Information System database according to the chapter II of the International Classification of Diseases - 10th revision (ICD-10). Linear regression was used to analyze the relationship between the incidence of HAs and time (months). Results: A significant reduction in HAs due to CNS tumors was observed during the outbreak period (January-June 2020). Benign neoplasm of brain and other parts of CNS (-2, CI -2 to -1) and malignant neoplasm of brain (-5, CI -7 to -3) showed to be remarkably affected (see table). To our knowledge, this is the first scientific report of significant reduction of HAs due to CNS tumors during COVID-19 era. Conclusions: Our findings seem to be associated to delayed oncological diagnose and care to CNS tumor patients during the lockdown and health system collapse. A rebound help-seeking effect as well as more severe complications may present in the post‐pandemic. Further studies are needed to evaluate the impact of the ongoing pandemic in CNS neoplasms in order to strategically corroborate public health actions for short- and long-term implications of COVID-19 pandemic. Urbanization trends have changed the morphology of cities in the past decades. Complex urban areas with wide variations in built density, layout typology, and architectural form have resulted in more complicated microclimate conditions. Microclimate conditions affect the energy performance of buildings and bioclimatic design strategies as well as a high number of engineering applications. However, commercial energy simulation engines that utilize widely-available mesoscale weather data tend to underestimate these impacts. These weather files, which represent typical weather conditions at a location, are mostly based on long-term metrological observations and fail to consider extreme conditions in their calculation. This paper aims to evaluate the impacts of hourly microclimate data in typical and extreme climate conditions on the energy performance of an office building in two different urban areas. Results showed that the urban morphology can reduce the wind speed by 27% and amplify air temperature by more than 14%. Using microclimate data, the calculated outside surface temperature, operating temperature and total energy demand of buildings were notably different to those obtained using typical regional climate model (RCM)–climate data or available weather files (Typical Meteorological Year or TMY), i.e., by 61%, 7%, and 21%, respectively. The difference in the hourly peak demand during extreme weather conditions was around 13%. The impact of urban density and the final height of buildings on the results are discussed at the end of the paper.

Abstract. Ship emissions in and around ports are of interest for urban air quality management in many harbour cities. We investigated the impact of regional and local ship emissions on urban air quality for 2012 conditions in the city of Gothenburg, Sweden, the largest cargo port in Scandinavia. In order to assess the effects of ship emissions, a coupled regional- and local-scale model system has been set up using ship emissions in the Baltic Sea and the North Sea as well as in and around the port of Gothenburg. Ship emissions were calculated with the Ship Traffic Emission Assessment Model (STEAM), taking into account individual vessel characteristics and vessel activity data. The calculated contributions from local and regional shipping to local air pollution in Gothenburg were found to be substantial, especially in areas around the city ports. The relative contribution from local shipping to annual mean NO2 concentrations was 14 % as the model domain average, while the relative contribution from regional shipping in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea was 26 %. In an area close to the city terminals, the contribution of NO2 from local shipping (33 %) was higher than that of road traffic (28 %), which indicates the importance of controlling local shipping emissions. Local shipping emissions of NOx led to a decrease in the summer mean O3 levels in the city by 0.5 ppb (∼2 %) on average. Regional shipping led to a slight increase in O3 concentrations; however, the overall effect of regional and the local shipping together was a small decrease in the summer mean O3 concentrations in the city. In addition, volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from local shipping compensate up to 4 ppb of the decrease in summer O3 concentrations due to the NO titration effect. For particulate matter with a median aerodynamic diameter less than or equal to 2.5 µm (PM2.5), local ship emissions contributed only 3 % to the annual mean in the model domain, while regional shipping under 2012 conditions was a larger contributor, with an annual mean contribution of 11 % of the city domain average. Based on the modelled local and regional shipping contributions, the health effects of PM2.5, NO2 and ozone were assessed using the ALPHA-RiskPoll (ARP) model. An effect of the shipping-associated PM2.5 exposure in the modelled area was a mean decrease in the life expectancy by 0.015 years per person. The relative contribution of local shipping to the impact of total PM2.5 was 2.2 %, which can be compared to the 5.3 % contribution from local road traffic. The relative contribution of the regional shipping was 10.3 %. The mortalities due to the exposure to NO2 associated with shipping were calculated to be 2.6 premature deaths yr−1. The relative contribution of local and regional shipping to the total exposure to NO2 in the reference simulation was 14 % and 21 %, respectively. The shipping-related ozone exposures were due to the NO titration effect leading to a negative number of premature deaths. Our study shows that overall health impacts of regional shipping can be more significant than those of local shipping, emphasizing that abatement policy options on city-scale air pollution require close cooperation across governance levels. Our findings indicate that the strengthened Sulphur Emission Control Areas (SECAs) fuel sulphur limit from 1 % to 0.1 % in 2015, leading to a strong decrease in the formation of secondary particulate matter on a regional scale was an important step in improving the air quality in the city.

The purpose of the research in IIS to know and analyze the impact of the haze on the performance of business traders market. This research belongs to the type of descriptive research. Descriptive research that aims to describe, describe and analyse existing events and aims to obtain information about the impact of haze in accordance with existing theories. Data collection method through dissemination of questionnaires and questions answered. The population in this study is the market merchant of Rengat City. Determination of sample count of 100 respondents/market trader. The data analysis technique used to analyze this research data is to be descriptively used statistical analysis in the form of a percentage formula because its purpose is to see the trend of the indicators of each variable and the research is only aimed to describe the reality in the field is not to be seen relations or comparisons. In this study, researchers used Likert measurement scales. The Likert scale relates to a statement about a person's attitude toward something.  The results of this study can be concluded that: (1) The health of the market traders of the city of Rengat is interrupted because of the thick haze that affects the trading activity itself. (2) The income of market traders in the city of Rengat is decreasing due to declining people's desire to shop in the market due to the worry of being exposed to haze which can cause ISPA disease and other health disorders. (3) The market environment of the Rengat is affected by the smoke of the daily Trader's life. Usually traders have already held their trades starting from the beginning of the morning, because the haze of most traders often come late to the market (overdo). (3) The education of students from the family of market traders in the city of Rengat is also affected by the haze so that it must be dissolved until normal weather conditions are back. Because of this, students have a lot of missed material and have to force themselves to pursue the lag by adding hours and learning tasks that are much beyond the student's thinking capacity.

Abstract Urbanization and an increase in precipitation intensities due to climate change, in addition to limited urban drainage systems (UDS) capacity, are the main causes of combined sewer overflows (CSOs) that cause serious water pollution problems in many cities around the world. Model predictive control (MPC) systems offer a new approach to mitigate the impact of CSOs by generating optimal temporally and spatially varied dynamic control strategies of sewer system actuators. This paper presents a novel MPC based on neural networks for predicting flows, a stormwater management model (SWMM) for flow conveyance, and a genetic algorithm for optimizing the operation of sewer systems and defining the best control strategies. The proposed model was tested on the sewer system of the city of Casablanca in Morocco. The results have shown the efficiency of the developed MPC to reduce CSOs while considering short optimization time thanks to parallel computing.

Introduction. Climate change around the world determines the relevance of the study of its effects on the human health. Nowadays, due to the development of modern medical science, the methods of evidence-based analysis of negative impact of the environmental factors on the public health are being widely implemented into preventive medicine. Their use should make it possible to quantify the various risks with high confidence and to manage them effectively. Material and methods. The weather conditions of the territory of Vladikavkaz for a 15-years period (2001-2015) have been studied. On the basis of the data from the primary medical documentation of emergency medical care (EMC) for the same period, the health status of the adult population in the city has been studied. The impact of the meteorological elements under the study on the frequency of seeking EMC was estimated using the relative (RR) and population risks (Rpop) values. Results. For the city of Vladikavkaz (according to the medical classification of weather conditions), high air humidity is typical for 65% of the days in a year, low air velocity (less than 3 m/s) - 77% of the days in a year. Inter-day fluctuations in temperature and atmospheric air pressure, exceeding the optimal levels for the human body, are recorded more than in 30% of the days in a year. Discussion. The city of Vladikavkaz is characterized by windless, wet weather, with frequent inter-day fluctuations in temperature and atmospheric air pressure, which corresponds to the clinically irritating and acute types of weather. Conclusion. The calculations of the relative and the population risks of impact of meteorological changes on the developing of urgent cardiovascular conditions in the population of Vladikavkaz showed RR of combining two unfavourable weather factors to be of 1.081 (p <0.0001), and the Rpop increases by more than 3600 additional EMC calls due to cardiovascular pathology.

The study conducted in this paper is focused on a predominantly residential area of the City of Ljubljana &ndash; Koseze, which is characterized by generally favorable (bio)climatic conditions. Nonetheless, thermal satellite imaging showed that residential neighborhoods within the Koseze district display unexpected variations in summer temperatures. This observation called into question the benefits of existing bioclimatic features and indicated the need to investigate and compare two neighborhoods with similar urban parameters, with the aim to identify morphological differential characteristics impacting urban heat island (UHI) intensity. By applying the study methodology based on a literature review, surveys of key precedents, detailed mapping in two Koseze locations, in situ measurements, observations and recordings, thermal imaging and the analyses of statistical data, as well as by defining the four main categories of morphological urban parameters &ndash; structure, cover, fabric and metabolism, it was concluded that both neighborhoods have common morphological elements mitigating the UHI effect. Additionally, it was found that the neighborhood with higher UHI intensity has several less favorable features, such as busier roads, larger surface of parking corridors, and the existence of underground parking space. The traffic as an element of urban morphology hence represents the main cause of differences among UHI levels in the two Koseze neighborhoods.
