The main purpose of the present research is to identify the internal relationships among the dimensions of knowledge management from the viewpoint of social capital. The statistical population includes 50 Professors and experts in the field, who have been defined as connoisseurs. The data have been collected through the use of the researcher-designed questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by content validity, and its reliability was determined by test–retest method. The results indicate that the dimensions of knowledge management, from the social capital perspective, have relatively strong, reciprocal systemic relations with each other. Among the dimensions of knowledge management studied in the research, the "leadership and management" dimension has been identified as the strongest dimension from the viewpoint of leading power, and the "intellectual capital" has been recognised as having the highest rate of dependence on the other dimensions of knowledge management regarding the social capital of knowledge management. The results obtained from the identification and evaluation of the systematic relations can be used as a guide by managers and decision-makers in designing strategic programs concerning knowledge management within the organisation while having social capital in mind.

This study used a post-positivistic research paradigm, and the primary data were collected by using a questionnaire to 240 respondents who represented the group of land-dwellers and Sama Bajo boat-dwellers on the islands of Wangi-wangi, Kaledupa, and Tomia. This research was also supported by qualitative data through in-depth interviews from several informants and desk studies. The results showed that bridging social capital relations tend to be weak in the two forms of interactions between the Sama Bajo and the land-dwellers on Wangi-wangi Island and Kaledupa Island, while bridging social capital tend to be secured in Tomia Island. In a knowledge economy, the need to ensure knowledge management success is imperative because it determines the success of an organization. Consequently, in order to improve and sustain their competitive advantage, many companies are also exploring the field of knowledge management. We examined factors that influence knowledge management success, namely organizational culture, knowledge strategy, information technology and leader behavior using a descriptive survey of 216 low, middle and top-level managers from public companies in Kenya based in Nairobi. Primary data was collected using structured questionnaires. The overall response rate was 72 percent. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize the analyzed survey data into frequencies and means. The findings were that organizational culture (β = 0.185, t = 5.436, p < 0.001), knowledge strategy (β = 0.368, t = 9.622, p < 0.001), information technology (β = 0.338, t = 9.247, p < 0.001) and leader behavior (β = 0.187, t = 4.764, p < 0.001) had a positive and significant influence on knowledge management success. Based on these findings, it is recommended that organizations have a knowledge strategy and enhance their information technology because these were found to have the greatest influence on knowledge management success.

Purpose This study aims to analyse the complementary role of structural and relational capital (as the outcomes of codification and personalisation knowledge management strategies) in renewal capital and innovation in high- and low-tech companies. Design/methodology/approach The primary data, which were collected through a structured questionnaire from 180 Spanish companies, are analysed using structural equation modelling based on partial least squares. Findings Overall, the study offers three fundamental findings. First, it demonstrates the outstanding role of renewal capital as an intellectual capital (IC) component; second, it provides a conceptual analysis of the connection between knowledge management strategies and IC; and third, it highlights the necessity of considering the technological level of the firm as a contingency variable affecting the IC–innovation relationship. Research limitations/implications The study has three apparent limitations: The sample of firms is restricted to Spanish companies, data concerning the main study variables were collected from only one person at each firm, and not all of the possible components of IC were included in the research model. Practical implications Business practitioners can find useful guidelines for making efficient use of knowledge resources when boosting innovation performance, depending on the technological level of their firms. Originality/value Although many studies have tried to disentangle the IC–innovation connection, this study is unique, as it considers knowledge management strategies, a novel combination of IC components and the level of technological sophistication in the same analysis.

The entity of people with special health needs (SHN), in particular with disorders of the autistic spectrum becomes an important socio-cultural subsystem. This subsystem covers not only persons with SHN, but also their environment. The implementation of the correctional system is a disadvantage, in comparison with the inclusive model in which people with SHN are integrated into society. The problem for the solution of which the authors’ efforts are made is that, for the present, the considerable part of the world population is not ready to accept the autistic community as a real agent of the social planning, which fulfills its own management strategies. Researchers of autism quite often ignore a position of the most autistic community on this or that question. The purpose of this article consists in search of approaches to creation of a conceptual model of autism and autistic community, which could form the reliable basis for development of the social technologies promoting a full integration of the people with special health needs into society. Mainly theoretical methods of research are used: logical analysis, elements of the structural-functional analysis, comparative analysis, and also axiological approach. At the same time, an attempt to generalize a primary data obtained by empirical methods, such as observation, participant observation, questioning, the content analysis, interview is made. It is shown that for the stated goal to be achieved it is fruitful to consider a phenomenon of autism in the prospect of cultural anthropology. The concept of autistic culture is clarified and its relevance for study of autism and autistic community is substantiated. Some features of autistic culture are revealed. The discussion showed that many criteria of autism can be fully understood from the cultural-anthropological standpoint. The proposed approach meets the principles of post-non-classical rationality and allows to mitigate the social-biological dilemma. The results obtained can form a methodological-and-world-outlook basis for investigations in the fields of pedagogics, psychology, culturology.
