This article provides a comprehensive review of the modern Internet practices and virtual platforms in the sphere of politics aimed at promotion of different forms of voting technologies. The authors analyze public strategies of the political parties and candidates in the course of election campaign for the 2021 State Duma elections using the example of electoral constituency of St. Petersburg. The subject of this research is the use of digital means of communication that form virtual identity of the electorate during the 2021 State Duma elections. The object of this research is the representation of party ideologies and civic “symbolic politics”  on the Internet based on the example of the popular video platforms YouTube, Tik-Tok as well as the traditional social networks Vkontakte and Facebook. The goal lies in the analysis of interaction of public actors with the audience (followers) in the course of conducting the electoral campaign. The scientific novelty of this article is substantiated by systematic and structural analysis of the scarce elements of virtual identity of Internet users on the example of electoral strategies of representation. The conclusion is drawn on the growing trends of building the so-called symbolic politics “from the bottom” and emergence of numerous actors that create sociopolitical content in the virtual space. The research methodology employs the content analysis of virtual communication channels, relying on the classical theory of symbolic politics and political identity. This theory can be modified by separate aspects of digitalization of the political subfield, which the modern researchers consider as virtual reality.

The Internet users have been studied in the terms of a positive or negative impact on personality existence and co-existence in the context of virtual reality. Personality activity focus on backing up their own identity during the interaction with the Other in the virtual co-existence space. The web content mining of opinions expressed by social networks on thematic forums shows that major activity drivers in the virtual space of social networks are communicative, affiliative and self-assertive drivers. This is due to a personality's aim at backing up their identity in co-existence with the Other. The FIRO-B questionnaire has revealed relevant dominance of virtual communication participants' own activity over activity expected from their communication partner regarding the scales of inclusion and control. The opportunity to be an agent for "both" (themselves and their virtual communication partner) in the fields of inclusion and control makes it easier to gain a personality's required confirmation of their identity in relationship with the Other as well as get reassured that their being has been successfully extended into the Other's agent world (to personalize). Virtualization of a personality's relationship carries risks for identity being simulated due to non-availability of a true dialogue with the Other.

The regional elections in Catalonia held on 21 December 2017 received wide media coverage, far beyond Spanish media, due to separatist tension in that territory and was one of the main topics in most of the world’s media. Within this process social networks, especially Twitter, obtained crucial relevance given the interest aroused by the political leaders’ publications, since in those elections the debate transcended the usual ideological divisions of right and left and became a struggle between constitutionalists and separatists. This paper analyses the presence and influence of the main candidates of the Catalan political parties on Twitter. To achieve this, a mainly quantitative, mixed methodology based on big data was carried out where all the tweets issued by the candidates during the electoral campaign were analysed.

The article analyses theoretically the problem of human identification in the Internet and studies the phenomenon of an individual’s virtual identity. We have analysed the concept and features of self-presentation as the primary element of an individual’s identification in the virtual space in order to create a desired impression on the individual with an opportunity to be perceived there as he/she want to be perceived in the real world; which, to a certain extent, contradicts to the concept of “identity”. An individual’s presentation via the Internet is often only a manipulation with an impression on him/her and an imitation of sincere communication and frank disclosure of his/her own real identity, since a virtual identity rarely reflects the individual’s true self-image; whereas the question of identity concerns an individual’s real identity in the real world. An individual’s virtual identification is chanced in time from multiple existing identities to Internet users’ tendency to open more real information about them in the Internet space; the ways of virtual identity creation are examined. The phenomenon of an individual’s multiple identification in the Internet is investigated, which is connected both with the period of an anonymous existence of the Network and the desire to study oneself and one’s capabilities regarding the optimal self-representation in virtual space, on the one hand, and with insufficiently adequate self-understanding, one’s real identity as a modern virtualized person, on the other hand. People are inclined to play and experiment with their self-images and self-identification, by constantly changing it and improving it, in particular, by adding desired (idealized) features; and this virtual identity is imitated during communications with other Internet users. That is, playing and communication in virtual space are factors of virtual identity formation, which evidences transformations of identity of a modern individual as a representative of the information society. The conclusion is that people in the Web, partly due to its anonymity, are inclined to manipulate with impressions on them, focusing on their positive perception by other Internet users. As a result, not so much an individual’s virtual identification is created, but a set of mask images, simulacra (which in fact only hide a user, giving out desirable for valid), behind which there is no real identity.

The article is devoted to the analysis of written language of adolescents and young people with hearing impairment in the virtual space. The study involved 28 people, aged 16 to 20 years, 14 of them were with hearing impairments. 3 people at the age of 16 years old, 9 people are 17 years old, 4 people are 18 years old. The first part of the study was conducted as online questionnaires, which was aimed to clarify preferred virtual spaces for communication, the attitude to the written communication, also creative tasks for evaluation of written language developed by O.V. Vilenskaya was included. The second part consisted of analysis of the contents of the social network profile of the participants. The results have shown that the written language of deaf adolescents and young people in social networks reflected the general features of their verbal communication and social relations (in general, they use less detailed written statements than hearing peers do, less actually initiated written language, less flexible writing, less partners for communication in social networks, the prevalence of consistency errors). Nevertheless, it is significant that they appreciate the importance of writing and try to monitor its accuracy. Virtual communication in the life of young people with hearing impairments plays the same role as in the life of hearing peers and they successfully master this side of modern reality.

AbstractPresidential Election in 2019 has become the most interesting executive election throughout Indonesia's political history. People likely separated, either Jokowi’s or Prabowo’s stronghold. Then it can be assumed, when someone, not a Jokowi’s stronghold he or she certainly within Prabowo’s stronghold. The issue that was brought up in the presidential election campaign, sensitively related to religion, communist ideology, China’s employer, and any other issues. On the other side, politics identity also enlivened the presidential election’s campaign in 2019. Normative Yuridis method used in this research, which was supported by primary and secondary data sourced from either literature and social phenomenon sources as well. The research analysis concluded that political identity has become a part of the political campaign in Indonesia as well as in other countries. The differences came as the inevitability that should not be avoided but should be faced wisely. Finally, it must be distinguished between political identity with the politicization of identity clearly.Keywords. Identity Politics, 2019 Presidential Election

How do American Jews envision their role in the world? Are they tribal—a people whose obligations extend solely to their own? Or are they prophetic—a light unto nations, working to repair the world? This book is an interpretation of the effects of these worldviews on the foreign policy beliefs of American Jews since the nineteenth century. The book argues that it all begins with the political identity of American Jews. As Jews, they are committed to their people's survival. As Americans, they identify with, and believe their survival depends on, the American principles of liberalism, religious freedom, and pluralism. This identity and search for inclusion form a political theology of prophetic Judaism that emphasizes the historic mission of Jews to help create a world of peace and justice. The political theology of prophetic Judaism accounts for two enduring features of the foreign policy beliefs of American Jews. They exhibit a cosmopolitan sensibility, advocating on behalf of human rights, humanitarianism, and international law and organizations. They also are suspicious of nationalism—including their own. Contrary to the conventional wisdom that American Jews are natural-born Jewish nationalists, the book charts a long history of ambivalence; this ambivalence connects their early rejection of Zionism with the current debate regarding their attachment to Israel. And, the book contends, this growing ambivalence also explains the rising popularity of humanitarian and social justice movements among American Jews.

This article examines the method of latent-semantic analysis, its advantages, disadvantages, and the possibility of further transformation for use in arrays of unstructured data, which make up most of the information that Internet users deal with. To extract context-dependent word meanings through the statistical processing of large sets of textual data, an LSA method is used, based on operations with numeric matrices of the word-text type, the rows of which correspond to words, and the columns of text units to texts. The integration of words into themes and the representation of text units in the theme space is accomplished by applying one of the matrix expansions to the matrix data: singular decomposition or factorization of nonnegative matrices. The results of LSA studies have shown that the content of the similarity of words and text is obtained in such a way that the results obtained closely coincide with human thinking. Based on the methods described above, the author has developed and proposed a new way of finding semantic links between unstructured data, namely, information on social networks. The method is based on latent-semantic and frequency analyzes and involves processing the search result received, splitting each remaining text (post) into separate words, each of which takes the round in n words right and left, counting the number of occurrences of each term, working with a pre-created semantic resource (dictionary, ontology, RDF schema, ...). The developed method and algorithm have been tested on six well-known social networks, the interaction of which occurs through the ARI of the respective social networks. The average score for author's results exceeded that of their own social network search. The results obtained in the course of this dissertation can be used in the development of recommendation, search and other systems related to the search, rubrication and filtering of information.

This chapter considers the development of, and growing interest in, cold case reviews, distinguishing between the instrumental and symbolic politics which surround their development. What becomes clear in this chapter is that the rise in interest can be attributed to a number of individual and interlocking events, including changes in police legitimacy, the introduction of a number of police reforms, and initiatives resulting in changes to police practices, pressure from victims’ rights groups for more attention from the criminal justice system, and advances in scientific techniques and technologies with increasing uses found for them. The chapter briefly considers the political background to cold case reviews, and how this connects with the broader politics of policing along with the instrumental politics of maintaining major crime review teams and the symbolic politics which helps to justify expenditure in cold case reviews.
