The main aim of present study was to examine the relationships between well-being, Religiosity, A study was made on convenient sample of 50 young adolescents (females) age range of 18 to 22 years and used 4 tools (i) Well-being scale (Edinburgh, 2006) (ii) Religiosity scale (Bhusan,1970) (iii) Consciousness scale (Brazdau,2009) (iv)Locus of control scale (Rotter,1966). Co relational design was used. Results indicate that Well-being and Religious scores are positively correlated (r=0.31, p<0.05). There is also high positive co relational between well-being and consciousness scores (r=0.42, p<0.01). Thus increases in consciousness and religious scores led to increase in well=being scores among young adolescents. Multiple regression analysis was also used (R=0.46) and it showed that Consciousness has highest contribution in determination of criterion variable i.e. well-being, the regression coefficient being 0.15. Religiosity has less contribution and locus of control has negligible contribution, the regression coefficient being 0.05 and 0.003 respectively.

The continuing spread of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic has psychological effects on many individuals. One of these effects is the fear of COVID-19. In this study, it is aimed to examine the fear of COVID-19 in terms of spiritual well-being. In addition, the fear of COVID-19 was examined within the framework of gender, age range, education, income level, whether there is someone diagnosed with COVID-19 nearby and marital status. The study group of the research consisted of 474 adults (261 females, 213 males) were selected by the convenient sampling method. The research method is the correlational survey model. Data was obtained using the Demographic Information Form, the Spiritual Well-being Scale, and the COVID-19 Fear Scale. Descriptive statistics, t-test for independent groups, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation test and regression analysis were used in the study. Group comparison analysis revealed that women experienced higher levels of fear of the coronavirus. While those with postgraduate education reported significantly lower levels of fear of the coronavirus than those with other education levels. Fear of the coronavirus did not differ according to the age range, income level, and marital status of the participants. According to the results of the correlation analysis, a negative correlation between the fear of coronavirus and spiritual well-being and sub-dimension of spiritual well-being “transcendence” was found; and a positive correlation between the fear of the coranavirus and the sub-dimension of spiritual well-being “anomie” was found. Regression analysis showed that “anomie” positively predicted the fear of coronavirus. The findings of the research were discussed within the scope of the related literature.

Family plays a very prominent and important role in an adolescent’s life. Adolescents may encounter rejections and subsequently develop the feeling of loneliness. The study aims to investigate loneliness and locus of control among adolescents belonging to joint and nuclear families. A total of 120 adolescents (males=60; females=60) in age range of 15-17 years residing in nuclear and joint families. Locus of Control Scale Indian Adaptation of Levensons Scale (Vohra, 1992) and Perceived Loneliness Scale (Jha, 1997) were administered to the participants. Analysis of variance revealed that the adolescents belonging to nuclear and joint families significantly differed on loneliness score. Results indicated that there was no difference between powerful others, chance control (external factors) and adolescents in nuclear and joint families, and individual control (internal factors) and adolescents in nuclear and joint families. Hence, it can be concluded that adolescents in nuclear families were lonelier as compared to adolescents in joint families. The study also shows that adolescents residing in joint families possessed higher internal locus of control whereas adolescents from nuclear families had higher external locus of control.

This study examined the relationship between the Apperceptive Personality Test (APT) and Rotter's Internal-External Locus of Control (I-E) Scale. These scales were administered to 131 undergraduates (83 women, 48 men) and a stepwise multiple regression analysis was performed with Rotter's I-E scores as the criterion variable and 20 APT variables as predictors. The results provided some support for modest but significant relationships between two APT variables and scores on the I-E Scale. Internal-scoring subjects described their story characters with more positive ratings for the APT variable of Leader-Follower, whereas the story characters of external-scoring subjects were described with more extreme positive ratings than those of internal scorers.

The researchers investigated a simplified process model, a so-called salutogenic approach, of coping with stress in the workplace. Two constructs of salutogenic functioning, namely sense of coherence and locus of control (three dimensions: internal, external locus and autonomy), as well as the stress levels of 240 employees from a parastatal organisation were measured. As expected, individuals with a stronger sense of coherence and a stronger internal locus of control experienced lower levels of stress and vice versa. Nevertheless, in a regression analysis only the sense of coherence and external locus of control variables contributed significantly to variance in the criterion variable stress.

The purpose of the current study was (i) to find out the association between Perceived Social Support (PSS) and Psychological Well-Being (PWB) among young working adults and (ii) to study Gender differences in this relationship. 286 individuals volunteered to participate in the study within age range between 21 to 28 years. The sample consisted of 173 males and 113 females who were currently employed. PSS was measured using Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support and PWB by Ryff’s Scale of Psychological Well-Being. The data was analysed using independent samples ‘t’ test, Pearson Product Moment Correlation analysis and Regression analysis. The results indicated that PSS has a significant positive correlation with PWB indicating that the higher the level of PSS, the higher the level of PWB. Further, significant gender differences were found in PSS, with women reporting receiving more social support than men and women were also high in support from two of the three types of sources: family and friends. In addition, both men and women reported availability of higher social support from family as compared to what they can obtain from friends and significant other. No significant gender differences were found in PWB. Regression analysis indicated that PSS could significantly contribute to the prediction of PWB accounting for about twelve percent variance in it. Besides, PSS explained relatively higher variance in PWB among men as compared to women. Positive relations and self acceptance dimensions of PWB were better influenced by PSS in both men and women.
