The pelvic floor has the function of supporting the pelvic organs. In women, changes in the pelvic musculature can result in urinary incontinence, pelvicorgan prolapses and other disorders, which may include sexual disorders. Theaim of this study was to assess sexual and voiding dysfunctions among womenwho practice physical activity. A cross-sectional observational study was carriedout, with 31 female patients, aged between 20 and 35 years (26.0 ± 4.2),divided into group G1 with 18 women practicing physical activity with practicetime less than 3 years and the G2 group with 13 women practicing physicalactivity for more than 3 years. As evaluation instruments were used: TheInternational Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire (ICIQ –SF) and theICIQ-VS questionnaire. The results showed a greater severity of voidingsymptoms in women in group G2, with a severity score of 6.0 and group G1 hada severity score of 3.1, chi-square=5.19 and p=0.07. Regarding vaginalsymptoms, G2 showed a prevalence of 61.5%, which may be indicative of POP.In the present study, a high prevalence of UI symptoms was observed inwomen who practice physical activity, when related to the time of practice, therewas the presence of mild UI in Group G1 andmoderate in Group G2 (p=0.07),presenting a higher impairment of the quality of life of the G2 group (p=0.01).

Introduction: The global population is aging, and the number of elderly people continues to increase worldwide. The increase in the elderly population is followed by an increase in problems due to degenerative processes that have an impact on the quality of life of the elderly. Several factors that affect the quality of life of the elderly include physical activity, functional abilities, and depression. Methodology: The study design was cross-sectional. Based on the quota sampling in East Jakarta, 180 elderly were selected as the sample. WHOQOL-BREF was used to measured quality of life of independent variables. GPAQ, IADL-Barthel Index, GDS were used to measure dependent variables of physical activity, functional ability and depression, respectively. The Data collection method was an interview using a questionnaire. Data analysis includes univariate and bivariate analysis using Chi-Square test and multivariate analysis using Logistic Statistics test using Enter method. Results: Most of the elderly have a good quality of life (77.2%). There was a significant corellation between physical activity, functional ability, depression and the quality of life of the elderly. The most important factor was physical activity and the P values and OR were 0.014 and OR 3.409, respectively after being controlled by the variables of functional ability and depression. Conclusion: The finding indicated physical activity was the key factor of quality of life. In order to support elderly to exercise regularly and safely, cooperation between local governments, communities, and families is needed to develop interesting exercise/leisure sport programs and provide support facilities for the elderly. Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) impairs exercise tolerance and daily physical activity (PA). Aside from the hemodynamic limitations, physical, cognitive and emotional factors may play a relevant and as yet unexplored role. We investigated whether there is an association between the PA level and psychological disorders, health-related quality of life, and daily activities. We also searched for an association of the PA level with clinical factors and functional capacity. This was an analytical, cross-sectional, observational study conducted in a Brazilian University Hospital. Twenty stable PAH subjects wore an accelerometer for a week and completed an activity diary. They answered the quality of life questionnaire (SF-36), as well as the anxiety and depression scale (HADS), and the Manchester Respiratory Activities of Daily Living questionnaire (MRADL). Transthoracic echocardiography, the 6-Minute walk test (6MWT), the 1-minute sit-to-stand test (STST), and spirometry were performed. For statistical analysis we used Chi-square tests or Fisher's test as appropriate and the Mann-Whitney test to compare numerical values between two groups. The relationship between the parameters was assessed using the Spearman correlation test. The mean age was 44.3 years, 80% were women, 80% had idiopathic PAH, and 20% had connective tissue disease . The mean daily step count was 4,280 ± 2,351, and the mean activity time was 41.6 ± 19.3 minutes. The distance covered (6MWT) was 451.5 m, and the number of movements (1-STST) was 23.8. Thirty percent scored positive for anxiety, and 15% for depression (HADS). There was a significant correlation between accelerometer data and walking distance (6MWT), number of movements (1-STST), level of daily physical activity (MRADL), and depression symptoms. Our findings support the hypothesis that other aspects beyond physical and hemodynamic ones might impact the daily physical activity of patients with PAH.
