Moral problems become one of the challenges that must be faced by society today. As the currents of globalization develop, the noble values of culture and norms are fading in the younger generation now. Moral teaching is considered necessary to be instilled in various ways, one of which is through literary works. Hikayat Kalilah and Damina are one of the popular Malay classical literary works that are included as ancient manuscripts. The values of wisdom in this saga have their own moral message for their readers. As a reflection of moral teaching, the script of Hikayat Kalilah and Damina is part of past literary works that can be used as a source of human moral learning through wisdom stories. Moral is closely related to the limits that assess a human behavior in his life in society. Moral is also used as a benchmark to assess a person's actions in society, good or bad value. The stories in Hikayat Kalilah and Damina are an alternative moral teaching media that is suitable for children. Because the story which mostly revolves around animal figures or fables is one type of story that is very popular with children.

Understanding of values and attitude towards them have always been an object of interest for religious thinkers. For many centuries, Catholic moral theology has formed and tried to justify a kind of teaching about absolute and objective values that regulate human behavior. In 20 th century this task did not lose its importance for philosophers who used new methodologies and improved conceptions of personality. D. von Hildebrand and T. Ślipko were among them. The German phenomenologist D. von Hildebrand developed an original conception of three categories of the important, which helped him explain the feature of person to be motivated to act by objects with completely different properties. He distinguishes between subjectively satisfying, objectively important and important in itself or value. At the same time, D. von Hildebrand focuses on value as a category of the important, which requires a special, regulated by morality attitude of the person. His idea of response to something important in the object shows person as a free and active subject who is responsible for his or her relations with reality. Polish Thomist T. Ślipko sees value as a specific category of reality, which is objective, but is experienced subjectively. Value for him is a pattern according to which a person is called to improve his or her humanity. T. Ślipko distinguishes between absolute values (including moral) and relative ones, which are created by people in history and are changeable. The end of person's existence, in his opinion, is self-improvement, the development of oneself as a subject capable of recognizing values-patterns and changing oneself according to them. Both D. von Hildebrand and T. Ślipko emphasize the connection between the value and personal spheres. Both philosophers are true to the traditional Catholic moral teaching and personalist principles. The contribution of D. von Hildebrand and T. Ślipko to axiology is important for those Catholic thinkers who are trying in practice to solve in a Christian way complex moral problems of our time.

The article emphasizes that the social adaptation of orphans and their preparation for family life is one of the most important tasks of the state and society. Today, much attention is paid to the self-realization of the younger generation, its harmonious development in all respects. The fact that a nation perceives itself as a result of such created conditions gives it confidence and gives it a reason to look to a promising future.

There is a two-way relationship between literature and psychology coming together on the same intersection at the point of essential people and human behavior. As it is possible to approach literature and to evaluate literary works with the resources of psychology, and of literary sciences, so it is also possible to consider literary works based on psychology and to discover psychological facts in literature. Thus, both psychologists and writers have taken into consideration the relationship between literature and psychology. Studies of the science of psychology directed to literature, literary works and writers that was introduced by Freud continued with other outstanding theorists of psychology such as Adler, Jung, Lacan, From, Reich and Klein. Likewise, writers and literary theorists such as N.Holland, Lev Tolstoy, Fyodor Dostoevsky and Virginia Woolf contributed to the psychology of literature. This paper is an effort to analyze the relationship between literature and psychology considering the wide field which the science of psychology opens for literature.

For Thomas Aquinas, God’s choice to take flesh in an incarnation was a pedagogical response to human sin. So Thomas’s questions on the incarnation in Part 3 of the Summa are principally concerned to show its appropriateness or convenientia. He does draw other lessons from divine incarnation—say, about the metaphysics of individual being. But his main emphasis is on moral teaching and moral learning.

In the current era of globalization, cultures blend and dominate each other, making children confuse about their identity. Indonesia, as a multiracial and multicultural nation, is very rich in local wisdoms, and this wealth can be applied to build the character of children and fortify themselves from the negative influence of global or foreign cultures. Japan is a nation that lives based on culture and use local wisdoms as a foundation of life and learning materials that are directly implemented in everyday life. The same thing can be seen in the Sundanese society. Today many children do not recognize their own local wisdoms. This, according to the researchers, is due to the vacuum of local wisdom values in the curriculum and learning process. Therefore, various researchs on local wisdoms learning need to be done, include the learning program through oral tradition such as pupuh and folktale, and also traditional game. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The data used is the local wisdoms learning in Sundanese culture, which is the learning schedule related to local wisdoms that is limited to character building, and data related to local wisdoms in education in Japan, which is the schedule of "moral" learning activity. Data are analyzed based on Ratna's view (2015). Based on the results of the research, it is identified that the understanding of the values of local wisdoms can create a nation of character. The results of this study are theoretically useful to add references, especially on local wisdoms learning, and can be practically used as a learning model.

This paper shows that the interrelationship between the texts is present in the ancient manuscripts of the archipelago. Babad Awak Salira (BAS) manuscript is a Sundanese manuscript which contains Islamic teachings. The amount of influence contained in Islamic teachings is presented in several stanzas that are bound by rules or meters. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis, with the use of an intertextuality approach in literary works. The analysis using the intertextuality approach shows that the BAS text has links with other texts; Javanese manuscripts and Islamic books. This paper resulted in the findings of several hipogram or text backgrounds that were “borrowed” in the compilation of BAS. At least 11 hipogram were found to be applied, by conversi, expansi, modification, or exerp. This paper shows that an intertextuality approach can be applied to old manuscript objects. Thus, an intertextuality approach will explore and derive borrowed forms from the background text or hipogram. The cultural linkages between Javanese and Sundanese can be recorded in a manuscript. It is seen from the text, that several Javanese macapat metrums are consistently carried over in the BAS manuscript.

An interdisciplinary team-taught course dealing with the application of three major psychological theories to the interpretation of major literary works is described. Two important features of the course were: (a) the use of literature as the basis for extended theoretical analysis of human behavior, and (b) the application of a more sophisticated approach to the psychological interpretation of literary works. Student reactions over 2 years indicate that these objectives are being realized. This course has been a highly successful component of an integrated liberal arts curriculum.

AbstractOne of the most urgent tasks facing society today is to make science more attractive to the younger generation and to foster the continuous improvement of the knowledge and skills. These objectives assume ever greater importance because, firstly, young people are opting less and less for scientific studies, secondly, we need to establish new starting points for them in order that they could better understand and improve our changing world. To achieve these aims, it is necessary to expand innovation in secondary education. In this paper, a few suggestions, which can help assess and prioritize the usefulness of astronomy-related material for improving the educational process, are presented.

How can we better learn about and teach moral thinking and skills? How can we solve moral problems? One possible way is to create and use moral learning games, or games that enable players to work on moral scenarios, make moral choices, and gain relevant skills. One possible subcategory of these games is moral knowledge games, or games that aim to solve real-world moral problems and create new knowledge about morality. This article systematically analyzes relevant literature and related games and media to uncover a preliminary set of design principles for creating moral learning games and moral knowledge games. Frameworks such as the Elemental Tetrad, Mechanics, Dynamics, and Aesthetics (MDA), and Ethics Practice and Implementation Categorization Framework (EPIC) were used to analyze individual games and media. Ten different categories of principles emerged, along with 95 possible subprinciples. Implications, next steps, and limitations of this analysis were also discussed.

Characteristics of quality literary works must carry and convey moral messages. As a civilized citizen, the young generation — of course other citizens — must seize moral values in treading diverse lives. In this regard, literary engineering is an idea that should be taken into account as a form of literary approach in accordance with the mental development of the younger generation. How far is literary engineering capable as a new idea to introduce literature to the younger generation, that is the problem in this paper? This paper aims to describe and "sell" the role of literary literacy engineering to improve the literacy culture of the younger generation. The targets include the literary community and / or the community of young people, such as the youth organization, the literature literary forum, and the Student Council (intra-school student organization). This study used descriptive qualitative method. Based on the study of the theory of the younger generation (Stratus Howe) and the results of the analysis, this study shows that literary engineering can be used as a vehicle to improve literacy in the younger generation. Its activities can be in the form of literary rewriting in the form of student editions sourced from classical literary works such as Mahabharata, Ramayana, Siti Nurbaya novels, Salah Asuhan, or even folklore (folklore, folktale). These literary works can also be translated into literary / theater performances, soap operas, short stories, poems, or other forms. Conversely, the genre of poetry can also be "transformed" into other creative works in the form of poetry, fiction or literary / artistic performances. In addition, the work of teen literature is a way to familiarize literature with the younger generation. The success of the literacy movement is of course necessary and must be supported and collaborated with stakeholders, both government agencies, private institutions, art workers, parents, and / or literary practitioners. This literary or artistic activity is expected to be able to improve the literacy movement that is being promoted by the government as of now.
