Research background: Gambling is a specific activity that has an undoubtful impact on the national economies, however the evaluation of this sector still has been analysed very little by economists. This article comparatively analyses the peculiarities of the gambling sector activity in Lithuania, Latvia, Slovak Republic and Czech Republic in the period from 2015 to 2020. Purpose of the article: The purpose of the article is to evaluate the activity of the gambling sector in Lithuania, Latvia, Slovak Republic and Czech Republic. Methods: The following methods are used in the article: comparative analysis and synthesis of scientific literature and legal acts, analysis of graphical and statistical data. Findings & Value added: An analysis of scientific literature and legal acts revealed that definition of gambling is defined differently and in some countries certain types of gambling are not even considered as gambling or does not exist. The evaluation revealed that during 2015-2019 the highest AAGR of the gambling sector’s GGR was in Latvia (11.09%) and in 2019 Latvia also had the highest GGR per inhabitant 199 Eur. On the contrary, during 2017-2019 in the Czech Republic AAGR of the gambling sector’s GGR was -5.63% and in 2019 GGR per inhabitant (39.51 Eur) was the lowest. According to the mentioned statistical data, total GGR and the population size, Latvia has one of the largest gambling sector in the evaluated countries, so gambling sector in other countries still has great potential to growth. Although because of COVID-19 Latvia experienced huge losses of GGR, Slovak Republic online gambling sector showed a great potential to grow and it can be assumed that in Lithuania online gambling sector didn’t took over all of the potential revenue from land-based gambling sector.

The theme of paper is the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the Mountain rescue service. At the beginning, a brief summary about the history and development of unmanned aerial vehicles is made, starting from the very beginning to their gradual integration into the rescue systems all around the world. This part is followed by an analysis of the currently valid Slovak legislation regulating the rules of flying with unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of Slovak Republic, which also affects the flight operations of mountain rescuers. Author also included an analysis of the European legislation, which should gradually replace the currently valid Slovak legislation and unify the rules of operation of unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of the member states. The third chapter describes the use of specific types of unmanned aerial vehicles used by the Mountain rescue service of Slovak Republic and also of other European countries. We focused on the operational advantages and disadvantages compared to other types of aircraft technology used in the mountain rescue systems. The last part consists of an analysis of available equipment used in conjunction with unmanned aerial vehicles during avalanche accidents. Part of the work is also researching the possible extensions of mountain rescue operations by the implementation of modern avalanche beacons attached on the unmanned vehicles. In a research we focused mainly on the possible interference caused by the operation of unmanned aerial vehicle in close vicinity of an avalanche beacon.

The urgency of the work is due to the objective dynamics of changes in the level of man-made and natural threats in the exclusion zone and unconditional (compulsory) resettlement, increasing the volume of taskssolved by operational and rescue units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the need for security people who are, work and live in the Exclusion Zone. Potential threats and dangers in the exclusion zone and unconditional (compulsory) resettlement have been identified. The analysis of statistical data on the involvement of fire and rescue equipment for firefighting. The empirical dependence of the involvement offire and rescue equipment of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine on the elimination of fires in the exclusion zone during the year on their number has been established. It was found that most often 4 to 7 units of fire and rescue equipment of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are involved in extinguishing fires. Based on the processing of numerical analysis of statistical data, the following conclusions were made: 95% of the time during the year, fire and rescue units are on duty (without calls); 438 hours a year put out single fires; Two hours a year, two fires are extinguished simultaneously. The analysis of calls by service time is carried out. It is established that the service time of calls of fire and rescue units in 25% of cases is up to 2 hours and in 22% of cases is 7-8 hours. An assessment of the locations of fire and rescue units and forest posts with the definition of their service areas. As a result of calculations, it was established that to ensure the normative response to fires at existing facilities in the exclusion zone, it is necessary to provide 4 additional locations of forces and means of fire and rescue units, as well as to ensure the functioning of the fire station on the Vector complex.

The aim: To compare the effectiveness and sensitivity of prenatal and postnatal diagnostics in the diagnosis of congenital malformations of the urinary system in the Slovak Republic. Materials and methods: Data of postnatal sonographic screening of congenital developmental malformations of the urinary system in Slovak Republic including 2017 were identified and updated using a questionnaire survey, 38,496 newborns were involved. Statistical data on the proportion of prenatal diagnosis for the years 1995, 2000, 2005, 2008 and 2013-2016 were provided from the National Register of Congenital Defects. The chi2-test and t-test were applied to assess the sensitivity differences. Results: The study showed a low sensitivity of prenatal diagnosis with its maximum in 2016, reaching 32.3% and a minimum in 2005-2008 (8.0 – 8.4%). The sensitivity of postnatal diagnostics for selected years has always been a stable indicator and reaches 99.6%. Conclusions: Available statistical data confirm that prenatal diagnostics of congenital developmental malformations of the urinary system in the Slovak Republic is not perfect. Our work underlines the importance, or we should rather say inevitability of postnatal ultrasound screening for congenital developmental anomalies in the kidneys.

The first ambulance service in Poland was established in 1891 in Cracow. Many tips and assistance concerning the creation of the ambulance were provided by the organisers of the first ambulance in Europe (the Vienna ambulance in 1883). Since January 2007, the Act of 8 September 2006 on the National Medical Rescue Service has been a binding legal act. The aim of the Act is to introduce the functioning of the emergency medical system, both through a high level of health services based on the standards of Western countries and providing the required solutions in the area of emergency notification. The State Medical Rescue System was established to provide assistance to any person in need who is in a state of health emergency. The owner of the PRM system unit must ensure the readiness of people, resources and organizational units. The units of the PRM system providing services only in case of an emergency are: medical rescue teams, including airborne medical rescue teams and hospital emergency departments.

The advantages of enterprises that use the results of the digital economy in their activities have been established. The main characteristics of the digital economy are determined, approaches to the definition of terms are investigated. The state of profitability of Ukrainian enterprises by industry is analyzed on the basis of statistical data. Based on the results of the analysis of statistical data, it was determined that in the conditions of the pandemic and quarantine of the last two years, most sectors of the economy suffered losses. Only those industries that were vital and those that use modern information and digital technologies had a positive financial result of their activities. These calculations showed that it is fundamentally important to introduce digital technologies at enterprises in various sectors of the economy. The article lists the main seven stages of introducing digital technologies into the management activities of enterprises. The above stages of introducing digital technologies into the activities of enterprises are used both for general strategic transformations at enterprises, and for individual management functions. It also reflects the main benefits of introducing digital technologies into strategic planning and profit management in enterprises. The main obstacles that may arise during the implementation of digital technologies are highlighted, among which the main one is associated with the human factor. It is also indicated in the article that almost all enterprises in their activities can start with the introduction of technologies for working with big data, which allow to efficiently process large volumes of information, analyze it and make management decisions based on the results. An analysis of modern research in the field of digital technologies implementation showed that digital technologies are necessary not only in the current activities of an enterprise, but also in strategic and management functions, especially in planning and managing the company's profit.

The structure of the business environment, as part of the socio-economic situation, indirectly affects a citizen’s quality of life. A “friendly” business environment has a positive effect on job formation, thus helping with employment. A country encourages formation and development of large enterprises through various incentives that reduce regional disparities, especially in less-developed regions. Nevertheless, a huge majority of enterprises in the European Union are small- and medium-sized. Self-employed persons are considered a specific form of business. Their activity is strongly influenced by state policy. This paper analyzes the business environment in regions of the Slovak Republic. Its principal aim is to examine the development of regional disparities and the related quality of citizens’ lives. An evaluation of statistical data of the structure of the business environment in the Slovak Republic indicated a change in legal units in relation to business. Although the number of legal units are stable, the number of legal persons has increased and that of natural persons-entrepreneurs decreased. Deepening of regional disparities was not observed across regions of the Slovak Republic.
