The research is aimed to find out the Authentic Materials improve the students’ listening comprehension in terms of inferred meaning comprehension at the Second Year Students’ of SMP Negeri 4 Makassar. This research was an Experimental Research. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Makassar. The subject of the research is class VIII.And in the academic year of 2014-2015 which consists of 30 students, involved 16 men and 14 women who were taken as the responders of the research. The instrument of this research is listening test namely fill the blank test. The finding of this research shows the mean score of students on pre-test in utterance was 3.13. This was categorized as the poor category and after post-test was 6.3 become fair. The mean score on the pre-test, in conclusion, was 3, 53. This was categorized as very poor and after post-test were 6.8 become fairly good.  The use of authentic materials is one of a good technique in teaching listening Skill. The data indicates that this technique had succeeded to improve the students’ listening skill in terms of inferred meaning comprehension at the Second Year Students’ in SMP Negeri 4 Makassar. The objectives of this research is to find out whether the using authentic materials on teaching speaking is effective for eleventh grade students of Islamic High School of  Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakartain academic year 2013/2014 and whether there is any significance difference between students’ speaking ability taught by using authentic materials and thestudents’ speaking who taught by using created materials. This research is experimental research. The participants of the research were the eleventh grade students of Islamic High School of Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakartain academic year 2013/2014. The research instrument used by the researcher was speaking test. The data in the research were mainly gathered through the use of pre-test and post-test. After the data were collected, the writer analyzed them. The researcher used  SPSS16.0  to analyze the students’ speaking ability between the experimental group and the control group after the authentic materials was applied. Seeing from the finding of the research, it shows that there is a difference scores got by the students in theexperimental group and in the control group after the authentic material was applied. In the pre-test result, the mean of the experimental group was 58.85 and 58.94 for the control group. In post-test, after the authentic material was applied, the mean of the experimental group became 73.94 and 63.15 for the control  group. It can be seen that the mean of the experimental group was higher than the control group in post-test. Seeing from the comparison of mean between the experimental group and the control group, it can  be known that teaching speaking by using authentic material is effective. In order to find the answer of the hypothesis, certain statistics was used. The analysis of hypothesis testing was conducted using  ANCOVA. From the computation, it was known that the significance of value was 0.029 < 0.05, then the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. Therefore, the hypothesis shows that there is a significance difference between students taught using authentic material and those taught without using created material is accepted

Listening is a challenging sll for my EFL learners. They seem to do the assignment without showing good comprehension on their answers. This research aims to find out the students’ problems in listening comprehension and identify the factors contributing to the problems. The second semester students in academic year 2017/2018 are the subject of the research. The data were collected by using observation, interview and documentation. The results of the research showed that the students still have low listening comprehension. The most difficult indicator of listening comprehension is making inference. There are only 28% students can answer the questions related making inference. The students also have low confidence in listening skill. They cannot concentrate well in listening to the spoken texts. Those problems are influenced by two factors, internal and external factors. Understanding students' problems leads to the idea of providing better strategies and materials in learning activities.

The aim of the research is to improve the students’ vocabulary through the use of Glossing technique. The design of this research is quantitative research through pre-experimental design with pre-test and post-test design This study was conducted at SMP Anugrah  Tondano. The subject of the research was the second grade students in academic year of 2019/2020. The writer used reading text of Narrative text .The result of the data analysis showed that there was an increase between the pre-test and post-test. It can be seen from 10 students showed that the mean score of  pre-test was 53 and  post-test was 74 score. Based  on this finding from this study, it can be concluded that having more vocabulary significantly affects the comprehension of the students reading activity. Moreover by having many vocabulary the students can easily get the information and can enrich their knowledge by reading a lot of book. Finally, this research proved that theGlossing technique effective to improve student’s vocabulary in reading comprehension.

This research aims  to find out the significant improvement of the students achievement in reading comprehension by applying Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). The subject of this research was X grade of SMK Bandung-2 at Academic Year 2017/2018. It consisted of one class with 30 students as respondents. The objective was to discover the significant improvement of the students’ achievement in reading comprehension by applying Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). This research was conducted by using classroom action research. The instruments of collecting data were observation sheet, and Reading  tests. The research finding is shown of  that there was an improvement on the students’ reading achievement on narrative text from each cycle. It was showed from the mean of pre-test which was 56.5 with persentage 0%. After CTL was applied in the first cycle, there was an improvement of the result of the students’ in reading comprehension the mean was 69.16 with persentage 33.3%. It means that there was an improvement from pre-test to post-test I was 33.3%. And for the second cycle after reflection on the first cycle, there was an improvement of students’ mean which was 85 with persentage 100%. Based on the result showed that there was an improvement after applying CTL was 66.7%. It concluded that students’ achievement in reading comprehension by applying contextual teaching and learning (CTL) improved.

The objective of the present investigation was to make a diagnosis to the students of second year of baccalaureate parallel "H" of Pedro Vicente Maldonado High School in order to determine that the development of the skill of listening through activities like the dialogue and closed caption and the use of technologies of information and communication, contribute in the listening comprehension and therefore in the English language learning. The difficulty in the listening comprehension was detected because of the student’s low grades in the subject of the English. The research was scientific, quasiexperimental, and bibliographical, the information was collected through the technique of observation with a checklist that allowed the teacher to evaluate the student's performance. Both the activities and the parameters of the collation list were validated and verified by academic peers. The activities were organized in a timeline for their implementation; later the results were tabulated, analyzed, and interpreted, and subjected to the Chi square statistical test for the hypothesis test. Where it was shown that the application of activities with the help of the ICTs of the listening skill benefits the listening comprehension and thus the learning of the English language.

The main concern of this research was aimed at improving the listening skill of the grade XI students of SMAN 13 Bone in the academic year of 2020/2021. The researcher used WhatsApp group as a media to communicate with students, face to face cannot be implemented because of the Covid-19 pandemic.  The technique of analyzing data was applied by using quantitative data. The quantitative data was taken from the test. The result shows there was a positive effect of students’ listening skill using Disney’s theme song. It showed from the mean of the Pre-test was 66,43  and the mean score of post-test was 78,0357. From the data, it indicated that using Disney’s theme song in Listening skill was effective. The advantages of using song are: Song could become a media introduction of new languages, songs improve students’ pronunciation, song could be give good contribution in increasing students’ motivation in Listening, and song can strengthen memory of students.

The objective of this study is to find out whether it is effective or not to teach listening comprehension by using DLTA strategy. Population of this study was the seventh grade students of SMPN 46 Palembang in academic year 2020/2021 with the sample were taken from class VII. 1 consists of 34 students by using cluster random sampling. Method of this study was the pre ­ experimental with pre-test and post-test. The data were obtained by using test in 20 multiple choices. SPSS 17 was used to analyze data and the paired t ­ test was applied. Based on analysis data, the writer found that the mean score in pre-test was 58.38 and in post-test were 72.06. The result of value of t-obtained was 22.476, this score was higher than 2.0345 as its critical value. It means that the null hypothesis (Ha) was rejected and alternative hypothesis (H0) was accepted

This study was aimed to improve the students’ grammar achievement, especially in using conditional sentences by applying peer teaching technique. The subject of the study was the third semester students of English Education Study Program in academic year 2017/ 2018. This study was conducted by applying Classroom Action Research (CAR) which had been conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisted of three meetings. The instruments of collecting data were quantitative data (grammar test and questionnaire) and qualitative data (observation checklist and fieldnotes). The results of the test showed that the mean score of pre test was 15, formative test was 35 and post test was 63. The result of observation checklist and fieldnotes showed that the students were interested in teaching and learning conditional sentences by applying peer teaching technique. These indicated that there was a significant improvement of the students’ grammar achievement by applying peer teaching technique.

This study was conducted to examine whether there is or not any significant effect of Time Token Arends towards students’ speaking skill at the second year students’ of SMA Negeri 1 Kontukowuna. This research was conducted in pre-experimental research design. The population of this study was all students of SMA Negeri 1 Kontukowuna with the total of the students were 193 students, while the subject of this research was the second grade science program (XI IPA1 class) which consists of 23 students. The data of this research were collected by giving pre-test and post-test to students in the form of oral test related to the topic of report text. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 16.0 version (descriptive analysis and inferential statistics). As for testing the hypothesis, the researcher used t-test (paired sample t-test) which was calculated through SPSS 16,0. The result showed that there was a significant effect of time token technique towards students’ speaking skill at the second year students of SMA Negeri 1 Kontukowuna in terms of accuracy and fluency. It can be seen from the mean score of post-test was 55,22, while the mean score of pre-test was 31,96. In order to prove the hypothesis, the researcher took the conclusion by comparing between the value of Sig (2 tailed) with the significance α value. It showed that the value of Sig (2 tailed) was 0.000 while the significance α value was 0.05. So, it can be concluded that the value of Sig (2 tailed) was lower than the significance α value (0.000 < 0.05). In other words, (H1) was accepted. Besides, the successful improving of students’ speaking skill at the students of XI IPA1 class as the subject of this study did not happen directly without any supporting factors, such as students’ motivation in learning English, students’ intelligence, an interesting topic and a group work activity.

The research aimed at finding out whether or not using of authentic materials through communicative approach improves the vocabulary of the students. This applied a pre-experimental method. The population of the research was the second grades students of a state high school comprising four classes and one of which chosen as the sample by using purposive sampling. The sample consisted of thirty two. The data were collected by using vocabulary test that consisted 20 items. The proce4 of collecting data was presented in chronological order as pre-test given before treatment and then post-test was giving after treatment as students’ achievement. The data analysis showed that there was significant difference of the students’ vocabulary achievement after giving treatment by using authentic materials through communicative approach. It was proved by the mean score of pre-test was 5.97 and the mean of post-test was 7.82. The data was analyzed by using t-test was higher than t-table value. The value of t-test was 9, while t-table value was 1.695 at the 0.05 level significance. Based on the result above, the writer concludes that the use of authentic material through communicative approach improves the students’ vocabulary mastery.
