In this paper I investigate the problems of data collection, data analysis and the final communication of the results of our research, when doing social science that we, ourselves, are part of. Central to this are the concepts life world, language games and stories and narratives. How do we collect stories and narratives in the field, how do we construct scientific narratives that are both reliable and valid? And finally, how do we, as researchers present our newly constructed narrative to a – hopefully – interested audience? That is, how do you, as a consumer of scientific narratives, read what I have been writing? Finally, I will discuss the problem of handing over research results to the people that we are doing research with. This is all done within a framework of a pragmatic constructivist paradigm.

The organizing committee of IEMSS 2021 is proud to present the proceedings of the 2021 3rd International Conference on Innovations in Economic Management and Social Science, held in Hohhot, China during November 27-28, 2021.   IEMSS 2021 aims to bring together researchers, scientists, engineers, and scholar students to exchange and share their experience, new ideas, and research results about all aspects of innovations in economic management and social science, and discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted.   IEMSS 2021 received more than 50 manuscripts, and less than 40 submissions have been accepted by our reviewers. By submitting a paper to IEMSS 2021, the authors agreed to the review process and understood that papers would undergo a peer-review process. Manuscripts were reviewed by appropriately qualified experts in the field selected by the conference committee, who took detailed comments and-if the submission was accepted-the authors would submit a revised version that took into account this feedback.   Hopefully, all participants and other interested readers will benefit scientifically from the proceedings and also find it stimulating in the process.   With warmest regards,   IEMSS Conference Organizing Committees Hohhot, China

Ethics in social science experimentation and data collection are often discussed but rarely articulated in writing as part of research outputs. Although papers typically reference human subjects research approvals from relevant institutional review boards, most recognize that such boards do not carry out comprehensive ethical assessments. We propose a structured ethics appendix to provide details on the following: policy equipoise, role of the researcher, potential harms to participants and nonparticipants, conflicts of interest, intellectual freedom, feedback to participants, and foreseeable misuse of research results. We discuss each of these and some of the norms and challenging situations of each. We believe that discussing such issues explicitly in appendices of papers, even if briefly, will serve two purposes: more complete communication of ethics can improve discussions of papers and can clarify and improve the norms themselves.

Photovoice is a participatory technique used in sociology for presenting research results in form of visual stories. It can be a valuable tool to increase awareness and participation of citizens in local-based processes related to environmental education. This paper highlights some advantages of using photovoice as a visual participatory technique in improving environmental education, exploring some evidences from recent literature and presenting a case study conducted in Brasov, Romania. The case study is an example of how photovoice can be successfully used in working with social science students, in order to improve their professional skills for promoting local-based environmental education initiatives.

ABSTRACTThis study was aimed to produce students worksheet using scientific approach which can be properly used, practically implemented, and is effective to Improve Learning Outcomes of social science Subjects for fourth graders of Elementary school. This study used Dick and Carrey developemental model consisting of 10 steps. Based on the research results, it was found that (1) students worksheet was categorized as valid (87.5%) by the validator (2) the feasibility of students worksheet was categorized as very practical (88.5%) (3) The significant difference of learning outcomes between classes using students worksheet with a scientific approach and the one which was not, by a margin of 0.15 was  higher for class using students worksheet with a scientific approachKeywords: Scientific Approach, Social Science Subjects,  Students Learning                   Outcomes, Students Worksheet.

Purpose Alternative metrics (altmetrics) are non-traditional metrics to measure the social impact of research results, which were unable to be assessed by the previous methods, by calculating how research results are reflected in various social media. The purpose of this paper is to measure and compare the impact of Korean study results in four fields that were published in international journals using altmetrics. Design/methodology/approach This study analysed the impact of 383 Korean research articles published by international journals in the field of medical science, engineering, social science and arts and humanities through altmetrics and compared it with bibliometrics. Findings As a result, the frequency of research articles which are “discussed” through social media such as Twitter was shown to be highest in the medical science than in other fields. In addition, the frequency of research articles which were “saved” through reference management tool such as Mendeley was shown to be higher in the social science and the arts and humanities than in other fields. Furthermore, as a result of a correlation analysis between altmetrics and bibliometrics, it is found that there exists a positive correlation between the number of articles which were “saved” in Mendeley and “cited” in follow-up studies. Originality/value This study examined the impact of the articles originating in non-English-speaking nations; it could be referred by other non-English-speaking nations that are trying to identify invisible impact of their research output on global society. By finding the academic field which are receiving special attention from global community using altmetrics, researchers could prospect country’s overall research impact and utilize it to make a future R&D plan.

<p>In the context of the new era, the research results of undergraduate colleges and universities should keep up with the needs of the development of the times, give consideration to the innovation and practicality, and avoid doing things behind closed doors. Only in this way can undergraduate colleges and universities become the social talent training base, but also become the vanguard of social science development. This paper discusses the new direction and mode of innovation from the perspective of the type of innovation of scientific and technological achievements. It is hoped that through reading this article, it can provide certain help and inspiration to the research workers in the field related to the transformation of scientific research achievements in undergraduate colleges and universities.</p>

The research was prompted by the situation in which an Accounting course often considered as a hard and difficult course to comprehend by the students. Therefore, the students felt terrified when it comes to the course. This research aimed to improve the skills of students in completing accounting paper work of a service company through explicit instruction model with assignments for grade XI Social Science at SMAN 7 BarabaiYear 2013/2014. The research results showed that in classical mastery learning (completeness of the study)on the cycle had 1 % out of 75.45%, which showed better results than having no explicit instruction with assignment. Unfortunately, the mastery learning of the students was not completely succeeded as it did not reach 80% of the mastery learning. Meanwhile, the result of cycle 2showed that the mastery learning of the students increased in the rate of 90%. The students' response to this model could be seen when they were doing the assignment given, they were enthusiastic and capable to construct with their own understanding, as well as finding a solution of problems they had.Key Words : Explicit Instruction, Accounting, and Working Papers
