The process of studying in higher education institutions is transformed from the system of knowledge transfer to the system of their independent acquisition by students, the search for solutions to problems through research activities, inherent models of studying the Master’s degree level. The development of future software engineers’professional competencies in the contextof a modern university has the following contradictions: insufficient consideration ofdemadsof the specialization according to which training ofmasters in specialties 121 "Computer Sciences" and 122 "Software Engineering" is conducted, in thecontent of academicdisciplines; implementationofonly a general development function in the process of teaching these disciplines is carried out, while improving the skills of designing and developing software products in the training of future IT specialists remains a secondary task; the motivation for the research and creative activity of students undergoing training within the framework of the Master's program is not clearly identified. The article is devoted to the design of an educational Web resource for the study of the platform for Arduino's amateur constructing as a computer tool for the professional competence formation of 121 "Computer Sciences", 122 "Software Engineering" specialties students. The modeling of this web-resource is focused on systematization of knowledge and development of practical design skills in the Arduino hardwarecomputing platform in the study of "Quality Management of Electronic Educational Resources" and "Information Technology Management" Master’s courses. In the process of course design, students determine the purpose and objectives of learning through electronic educational resources, analyze existing analogues of Arduino study sites, identify major requirements groups, design information architecture, present a chart of precedents for roles specific to an educational website. The application of this topic into the educational process of the Kherson State University is aimed at the development of professional competences for future programmers through the active introduction of new educational technologies, the use of opportunities for the information space, and the partnership between teachers and students.

The aim of our work was to highlight the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in the study of pediatric surgical dentistry. The introduction of the Standard of Higher Education in Specialty 221 “Dentistry” Field of Knowledge 22 “Health Care” for the second (master’s) level of higher education has allowed us to revise and improve a number of provisions regarding the study of pediatric surgical dentistry. First of all, the updated educational-professional program 221- “Dentistry” outlines the list of competencies and learning outcomes in the discipline “Pediatric Surgical Dentistry” and clearly defines the prerequisites on which the study of pediatric surgical dentistry is based. In the study of pediatric surgical dentistry, namely issues related to inflammatory processes of the maxillofacial area, attention should be paid to the etiology and pathogenesis of acute and chronic inflammatory odontogenic processes directly in the age aspect. At the same time, it is important to emphasize the need for preventive dental measures, timely therapeutic intervention, especially during the eruption of permanent teeth and urgent radical treatment to prevent complications. In addition, an important component in the study of this topic are issues related to the age of the formation of organs and systems of the child, the tendency to hyperergic reactions and generalization of the inflammatory process, the factor of minimal anti-inflammatory potential. The presented methodological approach in terms of practical application of interdisciplinary links in the study of pediatric surgical dentistry, according to our observations allowed to increase the level of knowledge within the professional competence of students with a score of “5” from 20% in IV year to 68% V year. Thus, the list of components of the educational process analyzed in this paper creates a promising direction for further improvement of teaching methods at the Department of Pediatric Surgical Dentistry.

The development of e-learning, both in distance and mixed forms, becomes especially relevant in the modern educational process. A high-quality e-learning course is developed through the efforts of two parties: the teacher, who creates the methodological content, and the programmer, who creates the electronic shell of the course. The article substantiates the importance of quality issues in the development of a user interface for electronic educational resources, since the user of an electronic course deals with the direct implementation of educational material. The indicators for assessing the quality of software products in accordance with international and Russian standards and their applicability for assessing user interfaces of electronic educational resources are analyzed. The conclusion is made about the importance of the indicator “practicality” in relation to this type of software product as an indicator of an individual evaluation of the use of a product by a certain user or circle of users. The classical methods for assessing the quality of the human-machine interaction interface and the applicability of experimental and formal methods for assessing quality are considered. The analysis of modern approaches to the design of user interfaces based on UX/UI design is given. An assessment of the requirements and criteria for assessing the user interface from the standpoint of modern design is given. The tasks and features of the UX and UI components of the design process are analyzed. The essence of the modern term “usability” as an indicator of the interface evaluation is explained, and the qualitative evaluation criteria for this indicator are considered. The concept of UX testing is given, the main stages of this process are considered. The importance of taking into account the subjective psychological factors of interface perception is substantiated. The indicators for assessing the quality of user interfaces, based on the cognitive factors of its perception by a person, are analyzed.

Finally, I am about to report on my own research. In the material that preceded this chapter I have tried to present the work of others. My role has been closer to that of a journalist than a scientist. Because I have covered so much ground, my presentations may be criticized as superficial; the chapters left more unanswered than they have answered. Nevertheless, by the time the reader has reached this point, we should have a shared perception of the design process and its rational foundations. Perhaps I could have accomplished this with fewer pages or with greater focus. I did not choose that path because I wanted the reader to build a perspective of her own, a perspective in which my model of adaptive design (as well as many other alternative solutions) would seem reasonable. The environment for adaptive design that I describe in this chapther is quite old. work began on the project in 1980, and the environment was frozen in 1982. My software engineering research career began in 1985. Prior to that time I was paid to develop useful software products (i.e., applications that satisfy the sponsor’s needs). Since 1985 I have been supported by research funds to deliver research products (i.e., new and relevant knowledge). Of course, there is no clear distinction between my practitioner and research activities, and my research—despite its change in paradigm—has always had a strong pragmatic bias. Many of my software engineering research papers were published when I was developing applications, and my work at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions was accepted as research in medical informatics (i.e., how computer technology can assist the practice of medicine and the delivery of care). The approach described in this chapter emerged from attempts to improve the application of computers in medicine, and this is how I finally came to understand software development—from the perspective of complex, life-critical, open interactive information systems. There is relatively little in this chapter that has not already been published. The chapter integrates what is available in a number of overlapping (and generally unreferenced) papers. I began reporting on my approach before it was fully operational (Blum 1981), but that is not uncommon in this profession.
