Learning activity was a student’s activeness in learning process to achieve outcome and aim of learning which had been determined. This research aimed to describe the degree of student’s learning activity, its outcome and the correlation between them. Collecting data used purposive sampling technique which used 36 students of class XB as a sample. The data of student’s learning activity was analyzed by using observation checklist. The observation result showed that the mean of student’s learning activity was 51,76 % with the category of active enough. The result of second term examination 2016/2017 showed that the mean of student’s score was 40,42 as less good category. The correlation between students’ learning activity and its outcome was analyzed by the correlation of product moment formula. The result of analyzing data showed that there was positive correlation between students’ learning activity and outcome in chemistry X class at SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak with correlation coefficient 0,67 as high category. The contribution of students’ learning activity and outcome was obtained coefficient of determination (r2) equal to 0,451. Thus, it could be concluded that there was a influence and positive relationship with the strong category between student learning activities and learning outcomes in chemistry class X at SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. Keywords : Students’ learning activity, Students’ learning outcome, Chemistry

LEARNING EFFECTIVENESS IMPROVEMENT THROUGH ACADEMIC SUPERVISION AND WORK DISCIPLINE STRENGTHENINGThe purpose of this study was to empirically determine  the enhance of teaching effectiveness. Research respondents were permanent teachers of private high schools in Bogor City. The number of samples were 131 teachers who were established by using proportional random sampling technique. The method used was the correlational method. Hypothesis testing was carried out by using parametric statistical analysis in the form of linear regression analysis, correlation analysis, and partial analysis where a significance level of α = 0.01 and α = 0.05. The research came up with three conclusions. Firstly, there was a very significant positive relationship between academic supervision and the teaching effectiveness where the correlation coefficient of ry1 = 0.824. Secondly, there was a very significant positive relationship between work discipline and the teaching effectiveness, where the correlation coefficient of ry2 = 0.66. Thirdly, there was a very significant positive relationship between academic supervision and work discipline together with the teaching effectiveness, where the correlation coefficient of ry.12 = 0.84. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the teaching effectiveness can be enhanced by strengthening academic supervision and work discipline. Results of the SITOREM analysis indicated that several priority indicators need to be improved, such as; assessment of work results, problems solving assistance, self-control during working, teachers’ willingness to carry out obligations, sucessfullness in conducting learning activity, and successfulness in managing learning activity. Based on the results above, it can be concluded that the teaching effectiveness can be enhanced by strengthening academic supervision and work discipline.

IPS learning process that occurs at SDN II Kemloko 2nd grade class has not been achieved its satisfactory. This is due to the way the teachers teach which is still in mediocre level, in a way of providing the students with interesting learning method and interesting models that may make students happy to follow the learning activities. By the result, the students’ learning outcomes for the 2nd grade class at SDN II Kemloko still below the pre-determined score, commonly known as KKM. In order to make this condition better, the researchers are triggered to conduct a research by implementing a Class Action Research (PTK), by referring to a research model raised by Thursday and Mc. Taggart. That research model proposes 4 important stages, which are (1) preparation / planning, (2) implementation of the action, (3) observation / observation, (4) reflection. In this classroom action research, the researchers implement a learning model, which is Make a Match. Afterwards, the result shows that the 2nd grade students can experience learning outcome. It turned out that after using this model of Make a Match, there is a significant improvement. The results obtained from cycle 1 portraying a number of 17 students shows that there are 9 students who successfully accomplish the task, which is equivalent with 52.94%, and the rest of the students, which are 8 students, are not able to accomplish the task, equivalent with 47.06%. Further, the second cycle presents that the students who pass the results are 10 students with a percentage of 58.82%, while the unaccomplished ones are 7 students with a percentage of 41.18%. According to the results, the result shows that the accomplished number of students is above the average. It is strongly suggested that others may implement the learning model of Make a Match, particularly teachers.

The objective of this research is to describe the process of Learning Cycle to improve the students’ effort and math learning outcomes in IV grade SD Negeri Siyono III. The action hypothesis used in this research was the Learning Cycle model could improve the students’ effort and math learning outcomes in IV grade of SD Negeri Siyono III. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this research was 19 students of IV grade SD Negeri Siyono III. The object of this research was the effort and students’ math learning outcomes from the whole learning process. The data were collected by using the observation sheet, documentation, and test. The resulting finding of the study implies that after the implementation of the Learning Cycle model, the student's effort and math learning outcomes were improved. The result of the study showed that there is a significant improvement in effort aspect mean score from pre-cycle to the cycle I, that is  49,34% to 66,45%. From cycle I to cycle II that is 66,45% to 74,34%. The mean of student's math learning outcomes improved from the pre-cycle that is 51.10 to cycle I that is 62,42 and cycle II that is 73,74. Classical completeness percentage was improved from 10,53% in in the pre-cycle to 47,37% in the cycle I, and 78,95% in the cycle II. By using the Learning Cycle model can improve the students’ effort and math learning outcomes, hopefully, the school can using the Learning Cycle model in their teaching-learning activity.

Event management education continues to increase in popularity and importance. However, in many event management courses, learning outcomes are often expressed in learning process-oriented skills. Beyond event management skills, this research proposes that leadership skills should also be included in event management courses. Experiential learning activities are an ideal opportunity to develop, practice, and enhance leadership skills and the optimal situation is experiential learning activities. Students were surveyed after completing an event management course, which included an experiential learning activity where they developed and produced instructor-led events. Students indicated that they learned many leadership skills, including communication, commitment, strategic planning, and accountability. Communication was the most cited skill that students both learned and demonstrated, and this correlated to the students' perception that communication is also the most important leadership skill required for a career in event management. It is proposed that event management courses utilize leadership skills in the course objectives and that, by doing so, it may provide additional student benefits and academic legitimacy to these courses.

One of the very important process in education is a learning process. The success of the learning process is necessary to motivate the student to be able to encourage their learning activities. STAD cooperative learning is a learning model that trains students to work together in a small group and help each other in solving problems, thus the gain mastery of subject matter understanding. STAD cooperative learning model is not much different from the usual lesson by the teacher. Teachers still contribute in the learning process so that not just released and expected students still easy to adaptable. The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between motivation and student learning activities with the implementation of STAD. This study used quasi-experimental research method. The population of this study was all first grade students in Model Islamic State Junior High School (MTsN) of Banda Aceh amounting to 39 students chosen from 11 classrooms. Samples were collected by using random sampling technique. Instruments of this study were cognitive learning outcomes test, student motivation questionnaire, and student learning activity observation sheet. Data were analyzed by multiple correlation test at significant level of 0.05. The results of the analysis of research data shows the value of R = 0.56 with P 0.00 (< 0.05) then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. It can be concluded that there was a significant relationship on student motivation and learning activity toward student cognitive learning outcomes by the implementation of STAD. In order to improve the cognitive learning outcomes, motivation and learning activities optimally it is expected that biology teachers implemented STAD than can actively involve the students in learning process.
