One of the most important components in teaching-learning activities is textbooks. The author of the textbook must tailor it to the cognitive development of children at a given age. Semiotics is one of the factors that can be examined in a textbook since the illustration of semiotics is a particular feature that substantially influences children's visual perception. The purpose of this research is to examine Semiotics in Elementary School English textbooks. This study applied qualitative research in terms of library research to collect the data from the students' English textbooks in the second-grade Elementary school. Semiotic analysis based on Pierce's semiotic theory, namely representamen (signifier), object (referent), and interpretant, was used to analyze the data (signified). Because the activities contain symbols, pictures, and signs that are extremely engaging for the second-grade students of Elementary school at SDIT Al-Hijrah 2, this study concluded that this book is very suited for learning for the second-grade students of Elementary school at SDIT Al-Hijrah 2. The researchers looked at the most important images relevant to the theme of the activities. In addition, the exercise imagery and meaning are linked to one another.

The purpose of this research is to describe: through singing the national anthem of SDN Semolowaru I / 26 Surabaya students, to realize the character education of homeland love and the spirit of nationalism. By singing the national anthem of SDN Semolowaru I / 26 students in Surabaya, obstacles in the implementation of character education for the love of the motherland and nationalism were realized. A solution to overcome obstacles in the implementation of character education for the love of the motherland and national enthusiasm by singing the national anthem of students of SDN Semolowaru I / 26 Surabaya. This type of research is qualitative research. The providers of this study were second-grade students and second-grade teachers, the principal of Semolowaru I / 26 Elementary School in Surabaya. Data collection techniques used were observation, interview, and recording. Data analysis through data reduction steps and conclusion diagrams. The data validity checking technique is done by triangulating sources and techniques. The results showed that SDN Semolowaru I / 26 Surabaya implemented character education for the love of the motherland and the national spirit by singing compulsory national songs. Although there are several obstacles, the teacher provides a solution that can minimize these obstacles. Therefore, character education that embodies the love of the motherland and the spirit of nationalism has indeed been realized, and it works as it should in the education sector in Indonesia.

This study aimed to describe and analyze the implementation of the artistic supervision of Selojari 1 elementary school and to describe and analyze any obstacles faced in learning supervision artistict. Type of this research research is called qualitative research. The collection of data carried out by means of in depth interviews, observations, and use of documents. Data were analyzed with data reduction, data presentation, and draw conclusions. The result of this research showed that artistic supervision planning in Selojari 1 elementary school is to make an systematic artistic supervision format. Implementation of artistic supervision through classroom visits, observe teaching learning activities and also classroom administration aspec. Supervision carried out periodically. Implementation feedback artistic supervision carried out by the headmaster as supervisor by making a connection humanist, harmonious and appreciate the personal character and talents of teachers.

Covid-19 pandemic condition demands the learning activities to be conducted online. The current study aims to investigate the types of humor inserted by the teacher in the EFL online teaching-learning activities, and students� responses toward the teacher�s humor. The participants of this descriptive qualitative research are an EFL teacher and 29 students of the 2nd grade at SMA Muhammadiyah Barru. To collect data about the types of humor used by the teacher, the researchers directly observe the online learning activities conducted by the teacher and his students. For gaining the deepest data about students� responses toward the teacher�s humor, the researchers randomly interview 10 from those 29 students. The researchers found that in the online teaching-learning activities, the teacher inserted humorous words that based on the theory were classified into pun fan, joke, innuendo, malapropism, and absurdity. Besides that, the researchers also found new types of humor used by the teacher, which were then named as local humor and plesetan humor. From the interview result, it is found students� responses towards the teacher�s humor indicate that humor maintains students� focus in learning activities, stimulates students to solve problems quickly, and keeps students� self-confidence in online learning.

This study discusses the strategy of strengthening religious education in Qurrota A'yun Islamic Elementary School (SDIT) in Marawola Subdistrict, Sigi Regency, with the problem is how the model of religious education learning in Qurrota A'yun Islamic Elementary School (SDIT) in Marawola Subdistrict, Sigi Regency. What is the strategy of strengthening religious education in the Integrated Islamic Elementary School (SDIT) Qurrota A’yun Marawola District Sigi Regency ?. This study used qualitative research methods. The research results are a model of religious education learning in SDIT Qurrota A’yun is to implement an integrated curriculum, namely between religious and general subjects, where the curriculum is designed by integrating Islamic values ​​in learning activities. While the strategy of strengthening religious education at SDIT Qurrota A’yun was carried out in two activities namely learning and habituation. Learning activities are carried out through curricular learning and extracurricular learning.

Elementary computer loan program. John H. Bayne Elementary School in Capitol Heights, Maryland, has implemented a program in which students can check out a computer for use at home. The three-component computer-literacy program is financed by a donation from Prescription Learning, an instructional firm in Springfield, Illinois. The program's components consist of computer literacy for kindergarten through second-grade students, skill reinforcement for students in grades four and six as a follow-up to reading and mathematics programs, and computer use at home for students in grades three and five. Research is backed by the fact that PKn is one of the lessons that are lacking in the hearts of learners. Because this learning is considered to be a difficult and boring lesson, it affects the low learning outcomes of learners. Based on observations that authors as teachers in elementary School 64/IV Jambi, especially class IV. A on PKn subjects that students ' learning outcomes are still low. Only 51.85% of learners reach the KKM 75. This study uses two-cycle class action research. Each cycle consists of four phases: design, activity and observation, reflection, and revision. The target of this research is class IV students. A in SD Negeri 64/IV Jambi City. Data obtained in the form of formative test result, observation sheet of teaching learning activities. From the results analysts gained that student learning results experienced an increase from the pre cycle until the II cycle, the pre-cycle (64.81%) With the submission of 51.85, Cycle I (72.41%), with 70.37 and cycle II (80.93%) With the 85.19 submission. The conclusion of this study is the cooperative learning Model of Round Club type can positively affect the outcome of students learning outcomes of class IV. A State Elementary School 64/IV Jambi City, and this learning model can be used as an alternative learning of PKn.

The digital age in the pandemic requires self-reliance in learning. Toward to train and develop the character of student self-regulated learning, this website presents a media visualization that can support the improvement of feelings of student independence through science literacy activities. This research aims to develop student independence in elementary school used website media that provides content in science literacy activities. The sample of this study is second-grade students from Pondok Kelapa 04 elementary school, East Jakarta, Indonesia, in the 2020/2021 school year. The results showed that a media site is known as Wetracy (Website for Literacy) influenced the development of the character of independence of second-grade students in science literacy activities. Thus, the study concluded that website media could effectively stimulate student’s self-reliance character in science literacy. keywords: independent character; literacy science; website; elementary school; self-reliance.

The teacher is the transformational media of all the knowledge needed by students. In addition, the role of teachers is very much needed especially in Islamic-based schools that always pay attention and prioritize students to continue their studies in college. To get closer and to build with high enthusiasm for the achievement of the priorities above, the researcher conducted research at second grade of Elementary School in Sidoarjo by knowing more about the leadership style of the principal in improving the work ethic of Islamic Education teachers. This study is entitled "The leadership role of school principals in improving the work ethic of Islamic Religious Education teachers at second grade of Elementary School in Sidoarjo". This research is a qualitative study, through a phenomenological approach that is a qualitative research approach rooted in philosophical and psychological and focuses on human life experiences (sociology) that produce descriptive data in the form of written or oral data from observable people's behavior. The form of research is descriptive qualitative research, namely research that describes an object relating to the problem conducted without asking research variables.The results of research on the role of principals in improving the work ethic of teachers of Islamic Education are as follows: (1) as educators: principals must have the right strategy to improve the work ethic of teachers and professional educators. (2) as a manager at school: the task of the manager is to plan something that can improve the work ethic of the teachers of Islamic Education and the quality of education, in addition the manager also organizes educational resources that have not been organized in order to unite in implementing education and control the implementation of educational outcomes . (3) as a motivator: the principal has a very close relationship with various activities in the school, such as providing motivation and encouragement, so the teacher is more disciplined and has a work spirit.

This research studied an EFL textbook entitled “Be smart in English for grade X of Senior High School Linguistics and Cultural Studies” to find out two things within it. Those are the types of culture and cultural meaning represented through its texts and images within the EFL textbook. To determine the types of culture, the researcher uses categorization proposed by Cortazzi and Jin while to reveal the cultural meaning, the researcher uses Pierce’s semiotic principal. The researcher conducts a descriptive qualitative research specifically library research because the researcher got the main data from the document review. In addition, semiotic analysis is used in this research to have a complexity analyzing of the cultural sign. The result of this study shows an imbalance portion of cultural content appearance. The percentage shows in four types of cultures that there are 25 of source culture  appearance (21%), 15 times of target culture appearance (13%), 10 times of International culture appearance (8%), and neutral culture appeared as much 69 times (58%). Then, cultural content that has been analyzed using semiotic analysis presented the cultural content appeared majority from image as much 73 times (61%) and texts as much 46 times (39%).
