The distribution of primary reflection coefficients can be estimated by means of the maximum entropy method, giving rise to smooth nonparametric functions which are consistent with the data. Instead of using classical moments (e.g. skewness and kurtosis) to constraint the maximization, nonconventional sample statistics help to improve the quality of the estimates. Results using real log data from various wells located in the Neuquen Basin (Argentina) show the effectiveness of the method to estimate both robust and consistent distributions that may be used to simulate realistic sequences.

The paper presents the possibility, necessity, ideology and essence of the entropy method of estimating the orderliness of the transportation process in relation to urban public transport. Examples of numerical definition of the relative entropy of the transportation process on typical public transport routes are given. The paper shows that the level of orderliness of the transportation process, identified by relative entropy, is determined by the specifics of the spatial location of public transport routes in terms of the urban area and mainly depends on the quality of users of public transport services.

Almost all companies use social media to improve their product services and provide after-sales services that allow their customers to review the quality of their products. By using Twitter social media to be an important source for tracking sentiment analysis. Sentiment analysis is one of the most popular studies today, using sentiment analysis companies can analyze customer satisfaction to improve their services. This study aims to analyze airline sentiments with five different features such as pragmatic, lexical n-gram, POS, sentiment, and LDA using the Support Vector Machine and Maximum Entropy methods. The best results can be obtained using the Maximum Entropy method using all feature extraction with an accuracy of 92.7% and in the Support Vector Machine method, the accuracy obtained is 89.2%.

Abstract. We give here an account on the results of source inversion of the ETEX-II experiment. Inversion has been performed with the maximum entropy method on the basis of non-zero measurements and in conjunction with a transport model POLAIR3D. The discrepancy scaling factor between the reconstructed and the true mass has been estimated to be equal to 7. The results contrast with the method's performance on the ETEX-I source. In the latter case its mass has been reconstructed with an accuracy exceeding 80%. The large value of the discrepancy factor for ETEX-II could be ascribed to modelling difficulties, possibly linked not to the transport model itself but rather to the quality of the measurements.

It is seen that the COVID-19 epidemic, which emerged in December 2019, affects living and working conditions all over the world. In this epidemic, preventive measures taken by countries to prevent the rapid spread of the virus caused changes in people's daily lives, as well as making it difficult for them to provide the minimum economic conditions necessary for their survival. In the European Union, which is one of the largest economic and political unions, it has been observed that the negative effects of the COVID-19 epidemic have reached serious dimensions. On the other hand, with the help of quality of life indicators, it is possible to evaluate the level of quality of life of individuals, groups or countries and to make international comparative analyzes by setting targets to increase this level. In this study, the data that can be accessed on the basis of all countries were included in the research in order to make a comparative analysis for all EU Countries. Variables handled within the scope of the study are life satisfaction, interest-loan-debt deferral, job security, news media, number of households having difficulties in living, decrease in employment, trust in government, trust in the EU and vaccination rate. In the study, evaluation was made by using ARAS and TOPSIS methods, which are among the Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods, and the Entropy method was used to determine the criterion weights. 27 EU countries were ranked according to the criteria determined in the application part of the study. The study is important in terms of simultaneous evaluation of the mentioned variables from a holistic perspective using MCDM methods.

BACKGROUND፡ Considering various researches were carried out to implement Lean techniques in healthcare centers, this study has tried to investigate how lean principles could be prioritized in the Emergency Department (ED) by comparing physicians and nurses viewpoints.METHODOLOGY: In the first stage, relevant Lean techniques and several criteria to evaluate the ED performance were selected by reviewing the literature. Then, weight factors for each criterion were calculated using the Entropy method, and Lean techniques were compared and ranked via a questionnaire by which the physicians' and nurses' opinions were obtained separately. In the last stage, the final ranking of Lean techniques was done using VIKOR and SAW methods as two powerful means of Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM).RESULTS: Theory of Constraints (TOC) was selected as the most appropriate principle from the physicians' viewpoints by both decision-making methods. However, according to the nurses' opinions, Jiduka was the best approach by the VIKOR method, while with the SAW method, 5S was chosen as the most practical Lean technique.CONCLUSION: This study has illustrated that although all Lean techniques are useable for ED, these techniques' prioritization has a key role in choosing the more suitable Lean approach. Moreover, it provides a chance for the emergency wards to keep down different costs and improve staff and patient satisfaction and the quality of treatment simultaneously.

China’s current Air Quality Index (AQI) system only considers one air pollutant which has the highest concentration value. In order to comprehensively evaluate the urban air quality of Jiangsu Province, this paper has studied the air quality of 13 cities in that province from April 2015 to March 2018 based on an expanded AQI system that includes six major air pollutants. After expanding the existing air quality evaluation standards of China, this paper has calculated the air quality evaluation scores of cities in Jiangsu Province based on the six major air pollutants by using the improved Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Model. This paper has further analyzed the effectiveness of air pollution control policies in Jiangsu Province and its different cities during the study period. The findings are as follows: there are distinct differences in air quality for different cities in Jiangsu Province; except for coastal cities such as Nantong, Yancheng and Lianyungang, the southern cities of Jiangsu generally have better air quality than the northern cities. The causes of these differences include not only natural factors such as geographical location and wind direction, but also economic factors and energy structure. In addition, air pollution control policies have achieved significant results in Nantong, Changzhou, Wuxi, Yangzhou, Suzhou, Yancheng, Zhenjiang, Tai’an and Lianyungang. Among them, Nantong has seen the biggest improvement, 20.28%; Changzhou and Wuxi have improved their air quality by more than 10%, while Yangzhou, Suzhou, and Yancheng have improved their air quality by more than 5%. However, the air quality of Nanjing, Huai’an, Xuzhou, and Suqian has worsened by different degrees compared that of the last period within the beginning period, during which Suqian’s air quality has declined by 20.07% and Xuzhou’s by 16.32%.

This study proposed an investigation-based multiple-criteria coordinated model to evaluate the sustainable development of urban public transport (PT) infrastructure, based on economic, social and environmental data from 2009 to 2019. The main problem with the traditional approach for assessing urban PT development is that economic and social benefits are considered individually, but also attention to environmental factors and coordination among the three issues are nearly overlooked. This leads to the likelihood of inaccuracies in the handling/assessment of sustainable development or an imbalance among the attributes in different cities. An investigation-based coordinated model was introduced in which a survey of 35 sub-criteria was conducted to derive the criteria necessary for coupling/coordination. A case study involving 13 cities in Jiangsu Province, China, illustrated the problems in coordinating PT systems and verified the efficacy of the proposed approach. With employing the entropy method, this study validated coordination of the PT infrastructure development of various cities in a balanced manner and used panel regression formulas to analyse the theoretical gap and empirical bottlenecks existing among economic, social and environmental benefits. With the findings of the study, the data-based investigation from 13 cities enabled the city planners/managers (including ones from other cities with similar urban levels) to give the individual priority between the ternary benefits, advance technology, allow big data-based informatisation and implement near-future autonomous PT vehicles.
