The international scientific conference “Geography of Art” is devoted to the development of a wide problematic field of interaction between art and geographic space. It traditionally considers not only spacing of artifacts and monuments over the earth’s surface, but also specific features related to the reflection of geographical space in art and creation of fantasy worlds in which the dependence on consistent patterns of the real world formation can easily be traced. The conference has been held since 2009; it was initiated by the geographer Yu.A. Vedenin and carried forward by the philosopher and culture specialist O.A. Lavrenova. In recent years, organizers of this representative forum are the Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Academy of Arts, Film and Television School (GITR), the Russian State University for the Humanities. In 2020, for the first time the conference was held online. As always, there was discussed the role of territorial factors in formation of art schools and individual works, as well as a creative perception of the cultural landscape, the place of art in the formation of the territory image. An important topic was a concept of space in art works, the possibilities of comprehending, transforming, “reformatting” the space by different art types including screen art, creating in this way the “increment of meaning” of places and regions. Within the framework of this conference there were discussed НАУКА ТЕЛЕВИДЕНИЯ № 16.3, 2020 162 THE ART AND SCIENCE OF TELEVISION historical and cultural features of the national and world cinema, which capture real spaces and create their own modifications. Participants touched upon the topic of traveling in the cinema, virtual representations of cultural landscapes using digital narratives and, accordingly, the possibilities and specific features of the virtual travel. The issue of studying urban spaces by means of cinema was considered in a wide semantic variety—from buffoonery to marginality. A city appears as a universal scenery for a performance while real street loci with their inhabitants become heroes of modern visual media. A separate topic was the discussion of constructed spaces of Korean TV series and their adaptation in Russian culture as a tangible result of the process of intercultural communication. All the above mentioned studies represented by conference participants actually complement each other in terms of understanding the figurative component of the cultural landscape.

Hebrew incunabula amount to a rather modest, in terms of number, group of around 150 editions that were printed within the period from the late 60s of the 15th century to January 1, 1501 in Italy, Spain, Portugal and Turkey. Despite such a small number of Hebrew incunabula, the role they played in the history of the formation of European printing cannot be overlooked. Even less possible is to overestimate the importance of Hebrew incunabula for understanding Jewish spiritual life as it evolved in Europe during the Renaissance.Russian depositories house 43 editions of Hebrew incunabula, in 113 copies and fragments. The latter are distributed as following: the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences — 67 items stored; the Russian State Library — 38 items; the National Library of Russia — 7 items; the Jewish Religious Community of Saint Petersburg — 1 item. The majority of these books came in public depositories at the late 19th — first half of the 20th century from private collections of St. Petersburg collectors: Moses Friedland (1826—1899), Daniel Chwolson (1819—1911) and David Günzburg (1857—1910). This article looks into the circumstances of how exactly these incunabula were acquired by the depositories. For the first time there are analysed publications of Russian scholars that either include descriptions of Hebrew incunabula (inventories, catalogues, lists) or related to various aspects of Hebrew incunabula studies. The article presents the first annotated bibliography of all domestic publications that are in any way connected with Hebrew incunabula, covering the period from 1893 (the first publication) to the present. In private collections, there was paid special attention to the formation of incunabula collections. It was expressed in the allocation of incunabula as a separate group of books in printed catalogues and the publication of research works on incunabula studies, which belonged to the pen of collectors themselves and haven’t lost their scientific relevance today.

the 18th-century expeditions from the Academy of Sciences aimed at colonizing new territories, especially eastern, exploring their landscapes, natural resources, and inhabitants. The article focuses on the team working in the Cheremshan basin. The description of findings is arranged in five sections, following Lepyokhin’s classification: landscape, population, clothing, occupations, and rituals. For the first time, a complete, updated, and verified list of settlements visited by the expedition members is provided. The role of the Imperial St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences Director, Count Vladimir Orlov, in the organization of the expedition is described. The author disproves the opinion regarding the authorship of the anonymous article “Brief News About Simbirsk Vicegerency” published in the “Mesyatsoslov” journal in 1786. The persons to whom the article was attributed include Lepyokhin, Maslenitsky, and Ozeretskovsky, but the textological analysis of the article and of the manuscript at the Russian State Archives of Military History suggests that this is a collective digest of manuscripts by Milkovich and Maslenitsky.

Cultural landscape is the most recently established category of historic sites. It has been functioning in Poland since 1990 and was mentioned for the first time in UNESCO documents in 1992. Its dual structure distinguishes it from other typology groups. As per the definition provided in the act of law, cultural landscape is an area shaped by natural factors and human activities. This field covers not only natural elements but also products of civilization. Clear and unambiguous criteria for classifying cultural landscapes according to the results of their valorisation have not been implemented into historical preservation yet. This results in difficulties in preserving and protecting cultural landscapes in Poland. Under the provisions of the European Landscape Convention, Polish government is obliged to take actions aimed at assessing landscape values. Therefore, there is a chance to resolve the stalemate.

Modern scientific conferences held at universities have the main task, first of all, to present innovative scientific results to the audience. And the scientific conference is all the more significant, the greatest contribution to science is made by the developments presented at it. That is especially important in such a complex, multifaceted and unstable science as economics. The world today is unstable. The generally accepted model of the formation of a global world economic system, into which all countries were supposed to gradually integrate on the basis of the international division of labor, is undergoing a crisis [Zenkina, Begma 2020, p. 58]. The annual international scientific conference, Chayanovskie Chtenia, held at the Russian State University for the Humanities has a long-standing scientific tradition. The conference always attracted the leading scientists - economists who presented their scientific reports to a large scientific audience. The article is devoted to a short review of the already past twentieth Chayanov conferences.

Legal deposit (LD) system, which remains to be the main source of formation of the national library-information stock of documents of the Russian Federation, needs further development and improvement. The purpose of this article is to identify the main problems faced by the modern system of LD in the segment of Federal legal deposit copy of printed publications and to consider various solutions. One of the main problems is incomplete delivery (or non-delivery) by manufacturers of the documents of printed publications issued by them, especially in electronic form, although this is required by the current version of the Federal law “On Legal Deposit copy of documents”. Instead of 16 copies, set by the Law, many publishers deliver to the Russian Book Chamber (RBC, ITAR-TASS branch) a smaller number of them, up to one copy. Situation with the delivery of publications produced in small runs is particularly alarming, as well as there are certain difficulties with the delivery of periodicals, including newspapers.General provisions of the Law “On Legal Deposit copy of documents” also apply to the copies of printed publications in electronic form. Their inclusion in the LD has led to significant changes for both document producers and LD recipient organizations. In 2017, only 518 of 5775 Russian publishers sent to the RBC the LD copies of printed publications in electronic form. The total number of electronic copies sent amounted to 24.5 thousand (about 21% of all publications issued in the country in traditional printed form). There are different ways to solve the arisen problems. The libraries-recipient constantly put the question on the need to strengthen the responsibility of manufacturers of documents for the incomplete or undelivered LD. Currently, the Russian State Library (RSL) has developed and published the “Declaration of the RSL on the work with Legal Deposit copy of the printed publication in electronic form”, which explains the most important principles of work with LD of the RSL as the operator of the National Electronic Library. The article considers a number of proposals on improvement of the LD system, in particular, of the RBC, the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Fundamental Library of the Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences. The author concludes that it is necessary to take effective measures to ensure the complete and timely delivery of documents from their manufacturers and stepwise inclusion in the LD of new documents that exist only in the electronic form.

Specialists of the Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State University for Geological Prospecting (MGRI), which had been training gemologists for many years, conducted an interesting and substantial study devoted to a non-traditional use of cassiterite, a mineral known to man for millennia. The monograph2 under review discusses various aspects of the use of cassiterite, as well as its accompanying minerals, for producing jewelry, collection and ornamental materials. Given the increasing popularity of natural minerals in recent decades, there is a growth of interest among collectors and manufacturers in non-traditional semi-precious stone raw materials and their use in the jewelry industry. The world trade in this area is significant and continues to demonstrate an increasing trend. In this regard, the work of D.A. Petrochenkov devoted to jewelry and ornamental cassiterites seems to be highly relevant. For the first time in world practice, the monograph comprehensively covers questions concerning cassiterite and its application, thus contributing to popularization of cassiterite jewelry and craftsmanship and laying the foundation for a new direction in the semi-precious stone industry. The author of the monograph critically reviewed the results of previous studies on the mineral and chemical composition of cassiterite and added an extensive set of his own analytical methods. The gemological and technological characteristics of cassiterite minerals were given, along with recommendations on their rational search, use and quality improvement. In term of ecological parameters, it was shown that the content of carcinogenic and radioactive elements in jewelry cassiterites does not exceed the background values. The market conditions were described, and recommendations on the organization of mining and geological work in this sphere were presented.
