ABSTRACT   The existence of the corona virus requires face-to-face teaching to be replaced with online teaching. As a new alternative in learning, it will certainly bring up several obstacles that will be faced by students while studying. This study aims to determine the difficulties faced by students during online learning by using various applications that support online learning such as WhatsApp, Google Classroom and Zoom Meeting. In this study, qualitative methods have been used and a descriptive approach was used to explain the data. In data collection, questionnaires and interviews were used to obtain in-depth information about the difficulties faced by students during online learning. The results in this study indicate that students experience various kinds of obstacles in the implementation of online learning, such as (1) operating learning applications, (2) limited internet quota, (3), incomplete learning resources / materials, (4) poor communication, and (5) decreased learning motivation during online learning, however, even though there were obstacles faced by the students, it did not stop them from continuing to study in difficult times such as the Covid 19 pandemic.

Transitioning from a face-to-face teaching environment to online teaching requires a shift in paradigm by stakeholders involved (i.e., instructors and students). This chapter provides an extensive literature review to help novice online instructors understand the nature of online teaching presence to help position their students towards more active participation. Premised on the Community of Inquiry framework (Garrison, Anderson & Archer, 2000) and constructivism, we highlight a conceptual framework of four iterative processes for developing online teaching presence: preparations for facilitation, designing the facilitation, implementing the facilitation, and assessing the facilitation. Based on this framework, strategies are articulated for overcoming the challenges of online learning through shared stakeholder responsibility.

COVID-19 is a virus originating from Wuhan, China that spread rapidly throughout the world. Indonesia began to be infected since the beginning of March 2020. The impact of the spread of COVID-19 caused losses to many countries, especially in the economic field. In the field of education, learning activities carried out in class are replaced online as a result of the spread of COVID-19 starting from elementary school to tertiary level. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods that describe online learning activities at STMIK Komputama Majenang during the COVID-19 pandemic that was held at home online. The object consists of 5 students of STMIK Komputama Majenang. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire containing questions related to online learning at STMIK Komputama Majenang during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the results of research, online learning activities at STMIK Komputama Majenang have been effective and run well. Some applications used in online learning are Web E-learning, WhatsApp, Telegram, Edmodo, YouTube, Zoom, and Google Classroom. Constraints experienced during online learning are problems with a bad internet connection, limited quota, difficulty in learning, and the presence of other people's distractions when learning takes place.

Governing agencies and administrators of education have typically been operating under the impression that online teaching is Face-to-Face (F2F) teaching using computers. This belief is a negative stereotype of education that is continually disproven by instructors of both modes, students of both modes, and research into the similarities and differences. Traditional pedagogies have a longstanding role in the F2F classroom, which do not always transfer into the online classroom. Rather, online pedagogy should be considered as a distinct area of study that addresses the new and evolving pedagogies regarding technology and online learning. Specifically, this chapter identifies what the differences are between online and F2F education in order to demonstrate the unique and necessary distinction of online pedagogy from traditional pedagogies.
