This study aims to know the pre-service teachers� skill in teaching by using scientific approach for providing their teaching performance in Internship Program 3. The population of this study was the students of English Education Study Program. Meanwhile, the sample of this study was the students of sixth semester taking Microteaching. This study used qualitative descriptive research. The steps of this study were collecting the data from the sample containing observation and questionnaire. Besides, the data analysis method of this study was data collection and tabulation, they were coding and arranging the data. Hence, the arranged data was interpreted descriptively. The specific goal of this study was to know how the students applied their potential in questioning skill while practicing Microteaching. From the result of question lists in teaching scenario created by the students of Microteaching, it can be concluded that not all of six types of questions were applied by the students. Only four types of questions, they were direct question 34.2%, general and open questions 28.1%, rhetorical question 10.3%, and factual question 27.4%. In other hand, for the types of feedback questions and leading questions were not used at all by the students. For the three main aspects of difficulties faced by the students in questioning aspect skill were the conducive teaching atmosphere 16%, improving students� activity 14,2%, and the overall spread questions 13.5%.

This study aims to: (1) examine the influence of Write, Share, and Revise technique in recognizing students‟ interest in writing English; and (2) analyze students' character development in writing skills after applying Write, Share, and Revise. It is a qualitative descriptive research where the primary data analyzed is the development of students‟ writing interest and skill during the time of implementation of Write, Share, and Revise Technique. In addition, as secondary data, the analysis of interviews, and classroom observations were tabulated as supporting primary data. Participants selected by using Purposive Participant technique. A total of 60 regular students of the 2017 English Education Study Program at IKIP Siliwangi were involved. The results of the study showed an increase in students‟ interest in writing English and also help them to develop their own writing skill form before the implementation, during, and after the implementation of Write, Share, and Revise technique. Based on interview and observation, it also reveals that students‟ are still struggle with writing materials. This implies that the students still needed extra care from teachers. Thus, it can be concluded that Write, Share, and Revise technique affects the process of writing as an individual and group. By doing Write, Share, and Revise, students tend to be opening minded and lessen selfish feeling and ego by helping each other to make a better writing form.

A total of 60 regular students of the 2018 English Education Study Program at one of the private universities in Bandung were involved. The results of the study showed that collaborative technique is successful to increase students’ interest in writing English and also help them to develop their own writing skill form before the implementation, during, and after the implementation of Collaborative technique. Thus it can be concluded that collaborative technique affects the process of writing as an individual and group. By doing collaborative techniques in writing English, students tend to be an enthusiast to make a better writing text in English.

Students had some problems in terms of extensive reading. The problems were (1) students forget some principles and benefits of extensive reading because they learned about principle and benefits of extensive reading in the previous semester, (2) students do not know how to implement a successful practice of extensive reading, and (3) students were still difficult to enjoy and get information in their reading of either fiction or nonfiction books. Thus, this research was aimed to know how students implement extensive reading and students’ difficulties when practice extensive reading. This research was qualitative descriptive research. The subject of this research was the fourth-semester students in the English Education Study Program of Institut Agama Islam Negeri Bengkulu. The instruments of this research were observation checklist, interview sheet, and documentation. The result of this research showed that there were students who implemented extensive reading but students implemented extensive reading in the outside classroom and the students still had difficulties when implementing extensive reading. The percentage of students’ implementation of extensive reading in the outside classroom was 62% while the percentage of students’ difficulties encounter practicing extensive reading was 91%. It concluded that students implemented extensive reading in the outside classroom without the supervision of the lecturer and students have many problems when practice extensive reading.

This study aims at identifying the students’ needs in learning English speaking to promote speaking syllabus development. This research was a qualitative descriptive research. The subjects were 63 students of the first, third and fifth semester of English Education Study Program of Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Riau Kepulauan University. The data were collected using a questionnaire. The questioner is aimed at gathering information related to the target needs, and wants. The results found that the students target of studying English speaking are for their future profession and for their higher education. They want practicing the English speaking when they are studying, and they want enjoying a lot of speaking activities at the classroom together with their pair or group. They also want the speaking course exist as the English education study curriculum. The students assumed for the role of teacher as a facilitator and guide in the teaching learning activities. Keywords : needs analysis, speaking syllabus development

AbstrakPemecahan masalah merupakan suatu kemampuan yang sangat kompleks di mata siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa SMA kelas X dan respon peralihan matematika SMP ke SMA terhadap materi SPLTV. Penelitian ini berbentuk deskriptif kualitatif dengan objek penelitian siswa kelas X di salah satu SMA di Bandung Barat. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah uji soal kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan angket kemampuan matematika siswa apabila ditinjau dari peralihan SMP ke SMA terhadap materi SPLTV. Jumlah soal yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak empat dari enam butir soal yang disediakan dengan angket yang berisikan sepuluh pertanyaan, yang terdiri dari empat pertanyaan tertutup dan enam pertanyaan terbuka. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 10 September 2018 dan 8 Oktober 2018. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa kelas X di Bandung Barat terhadap materi SPLTV tergolong tinggi, dengan persentase sebesar 79,868%. Siswa yang memiliki latar belakang pemahaman SPLDV yang baik cenderung mudah memahami SPLTV dengan baik pula. Analysis of Problem Solving Ability and Respons of Transition from Junior to Senior High School in SPLTV MaterialAbstractProblem-solving is problem-solving in the eyes of students. The purpose of this study was to study and analyze the mathematical problem solving of high school students in class X and the response of the transition of junior high school to high school to SPLTV material. This research is in the form of qualitative descriptive research with class X objects in one of the high schools in West Bandung. The instruments in this study were problem-solving questions and mathematical ability questionnaires which were reviewed from the transition of junior high school to high school to SPLTV material. The number of questions used in this study amounted to four of the six items provided with a questionnaire containing questions, which consisted of four closed questions and six open questions. This research was conducted on September 10, 2018, and October 8, 2018. The ability to solve the problems of grade X students in West Bandung on SPLTV material was high, with a contribution of 79.868%. Students who have a background in understanding SPLDV can easily consider SPLTV well too.

This research aimed to find out the English language proficiency of the local tour guides at the Aceh Tsunami Museum, Aceh, Indonesia, and the difficulties that they faced in communicating with foreign tourists in English. A quantitative and qualitative descriptive research design was utilized to collect data in which an English proficiency test and an interview were used as instruments. The research subjects were 13 local guides working in the Aceh Tsunami Museum. Based on the results from this research, it was found that virtually all the participating tour guides were in the categories of very good, good and average.  However, they still experienced problems with several aspects of speaking EFL, such as expressing ideas verbally, poor collocations i.e. incorrect or inappropriate word choices, poor pronunciation, and lack of confidence when speaking English. It is expected that the results from this research will become a useful input for the management of English Education institutions for improving their instructional systems and for tour guides to continue learning and developing their communication skills, especially their oral English communication skills.

Need analysis has become part of ADDIE model in developing materials for language learning. This research aims at examining the importance of need analysis as the initial focal step prior to the development of materials for Speaking for Academic Purpose. It is also investigating the reliability of ADDIE model prior to developing teaching material, specifically the ‘analyze’ stage. This research is typically a qualitative descriptive approach which conducted by using survey method. The instruments are students questionnaires and experts questionnaires created in online google form. There are totally 68 higher education students consist of thirty-three (33) seventh semester students and thirty-five (35) of fifth semester students taking the role as the respondents. The experts questionnaires are distributed to six lecturers who have the same interest in materials development and teach English for academic Purposes. The most result showed that 40 and 21 respondents consider ‘very important’ and ‘important’ which shows that 90% of all respondents has similar opinion on the importance of textbook for the course of Speaking for Academic Purpose availability. All of the expert-respondents  consider that it is important to develop materials for the course of Speaking for Academic purpose, shown by the dominant answers of ‘yes’Thus, by implementing ADDIE model, the researchers are convinced to develop materials for Speaking for Academic Purpose for students of English Education Study Program in Nusa Nipa University.

Subtitling becomes the most prominent growth in translation studies with its many advantages. It is cheaper than dubbing, take a short time, has the original soundtrack, better for hard-of-hearing and has a role in language learning. Subtitling can not be separated from the text. This text will be influenced by the context of a situation and also a context of culture. Having Cross Cultural Understanding better will show the ideology of the text. This study observes the translation technique of translating humor in Indonesian subtitle in the first episode of Mind Your Language British comedy series. This subtitle is done by the sixth-semester Indonesian students of English Education Program of Diamond Institute. This is a qualitative descriptive research presenting a translation unit tangible form in lingual (word, phrase, clause, and sentence) as the data. The object of the research is film dialogue in English and Indonesian subtitles also. The analysis of this study represents that there are 5 techniques in translating humor, namely Translating humor in wordplay with a literal translation, Translating humor in Source Text Pun with Target Text Pun, Translating humor in wordplay with wordplay, Translating humor in wordplay with zero wordplays (non-wordplay) and Translating humor with allusion. The use of literal translation technique is dominant while the ideal translation technique in translating humor is wordplay with wordplay.Subtitling mengalami pertumbuhan yang sangat pesat dalam studi penerjemahan dengan banyak kelebihannya. Subtitling lebih murah dari dubbing ditinjau dari segi biaya, proses pembuatannya tidak memerlukan waktu lama, mempunyai soundtract asli, dan lebih baik bagi para penderita tuna rungu dan sulit mendengar. Subtitling tidak bisa dipisahkan dari teks. Teks ini yang akan diperngaruhi oleh konteks situasi dan juga konteks budaya. Memiliki pandangan yang baik tentang Cross Cultural Understanding / perbedaan budaya akan bisa memahami ideologi teks tersebut. Penelitian ini mengkaji teknik penerjemahan humor dalam bahasa Indonesia dalam serial komedi Inggris yang berjudul “ Mind Your Language” episode pertama. Subtitle film komedi ini dikerjakan oleh mahasiswa semester enam jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang mengetengahkan unit penerjemahan bentuk lingual (kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat). Objek penelitian ini adalah dialog film dalam bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Indonesi. Analisis dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahawa ada 5 teknik dalam menerjemahkan humor, yaitu merjemahkan humor dalam wordplay dengan perjemahan literal, menerjemahkan humor dalam permainan kata kata (pun) bahasa sumber ke dalam pun bahasa sasaran, menerjemahkan wordplay dengan wordplay, menerjemahkan wordplay dengan cara tanpa menerjemahkannya (dibiarkan apa adanya) dan menerjemahkan humor dengan allusion (kiasan). Penggunaan teknik penerjemahan literal sangat dominan sedangkan teknik terjemahan yang ideal dalam menerjemahkan humor adalah wordplay dengan wordplay.

Abstract: The purpose of this research is clarity which can make it easy for Mustahiq (beneficiaries) to find business capital by borrowing capital at BAZNAS (The National Zakat Board) of Bengkulu City and the results of this study can be used as material for further study to produce legislation regarding the rights of Mustahiq in existing regulations. It is field research using qualitative descriptive methods. Descriptive research is to analyze the data that the author has obtained, the author uses a comparative analysis method, namely research that aims to systematically, factually, and accurately compare facts, situations or events in the field. From the results of research on the effectiveness of zakat funds received by the community, a total of eight asnaf (a Muslim person who is entitled to receive zakat and fitrah) received professional zakat assistance, those who are, fakir (a Muslim person who (a) has no property or income; or (b) has property or income but does not reach fifty per cent of the kifayah limit of himself and his dependants), poor, fisabilillah (the struggle, efforts and activities for the purpose of upholding and propagating the religion of Islam),  mu'allaf (a call for individuals who are non-Muslims or non-Muslims who have the hope of converting to Islam or those who are new to Islam whose faith still needs to be supported and reinforced), and musafir (traveler), as well as productive zakat for small traders in advancing their business. The distribution of productive zakat given by BAZNAS of Bengkulu City through the "Program" to mustahik in the Bengkulu City area can improve two factors of Mustahik's welfare. Keywords: productive zakat; mustahik.

The purpose of this qualitative descriptive research is to describe the professional attitude and creativity building of mathematics student teachers during the microteaching course. The study was conducted on May 8, 2017 until June 23, 2017. There were 17 students from Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Satya Wacana Christian University. Data collection techniques used the observation methods, open questionnaires, and documentation. The training is to build a professional attitude, begins with the exercise of disciplinary rules in which the student must arrive on time, wear the appropriate shirts as the faculty suggested, collect the tasks of the learning device on time, and for later attire, students have to wear white shirts, black trouser/ long skirt, blazer, pantofel boots, and a tie for both male and female, except the ones with hijabs. The training to build students' creativity begins by creating an exciting way of learning, planning the contents of learning with contemporary models that are currently developing, making closing activities in accordance with selected learning models, making lesson plans equipped with presentation slide with specific slide limits, creating a worksheet that can keep students active with certain page number limitation, then students may create additional other learning medias. Performing those attitude, blended with well-designed stages, the students can feel there is a change in themselves. Changes in attitudes and experiences experienced by students in this learning are the focus of this qualitative research description.
