The aim of the research is to search new sources of the main economically valuable traits for further breeding of raspberry. Nineteen previously created selected forms were studied for winter resistance components under controlled conditions, for resistance to major fungal diseases, productivity components, strength and biochemical composition of fruits. The zoned Gusar variety was used as the control. The work was carried out in 2018-2020 according to generally accepted techniques. Artificial freezing of raspberry stems was carried out in the climate chamber TH-6 JEIO TECH. According to the results of the studies, selected forms 8-10х-1, 6-125-4, which have an increased resistance to certain components of winter resistance, have been identified. Hybrids 2-115-1 and 1-188-1 have cumulative resistance to winter damage factors. Based on the integrated resistance of raspberry hybrids to the main fungal diseases, new sources have been revealed: forms 1-124-1, 2-115-1, 2-115-2, 1-111-21, 1-8-2, 2-35-1, 2-90-3, 6-125-4, 3-4-2, 8-10х-1, 4-33-21 and 4-122-2. The degree of their damage did not have a significant influence on winter hardiness, productivity and quality of berries. As the result of study of components of the raspberry productivity, selected forms (1-111-21, 2-90-2 and 2-90-3), forming fruits with an average weight of more than 4.0 g, and genotypes with large and one-dimensional fruits (1-176-21, 2-35-1, 4-33-21, 1-124-1) not growing smaller from picking to picking were identified. The highest potential productivity was noted for selections 2-115-1, 1-111-21, 1-188-1, 4-46-2, 2-90-2 and 2-90-3, capable to form a yield of more than 1.3 kg per bush. The selections 1-124-1, 2-90-2 and 2-90-3 are distinguished by an increased strength of the fruits. They form fruits with a crushing force exceeding 5.0 N, which ensures the safety of integrity and transportability when manually harvested. No complex sources of increased accumulation of biologically active substances have been identified. Genotypes with a high content of individual biochemical substances were selected. The highest accumulation of soluble solids and sugars was noted in the samples 2-90-3, 18-11-4 and 2-115-1. Highest accumulation o the vitamin C was observed in the samples 6-125-4 (59.8 mg/100 g) and 2-90-3 (61.5 mg/100 g). As new sources in breeding to improve the taste characteristics of raspberry, it is necessary to use selected forms 2-90-2, 2-115-1 and 6-125-4, approaching in taste to the standard variety Novost Kuzmina. Selected forms 2-90-2, 2-90-3 and 2-115-1 are new sources in raspberry breeding, combining a complex of economically valuable traits at a high level.

In recent years, interest in mountain savory is increasing and this is due to the rich biochemical composition, useful properties and decorative qualities of this plant. The materials were sortopopulyatsiya savory mountain. The study was conducted in the open ground in Moscow region (2012-2018) on experimental plots of the laboratory green, spicy taste and floral crops of FSBSI FSVC. The work on improving the source material by applying individual selection, the most aligned with economically valuable traits form ЧГ32-12 with high potential productivity of inflorescences and green mass, decorative, flavour and hardiness. Conducted testing and pre-multiplication of promising accessions, which was transferred into the "GOSSORTKOMISSIA" in 2018 called “Bobrik”. The yield of green increased in vegetation years in the first year of vegetation was 0,650 kg/m2, in the second – 3.0 kg/m2, and in the third year reached 5.4 kg/m2. Indicator sign "plant height" increased over the years of vegetation (11.4 cm, 25.5 cm and 40.2 cm, respectively). The values of the sign "number of shoots" in the first year of vegetation was 11.6 PCs., in the second year – sharply increased (255.1 PCs.), in the third year – reached its maximum (787.3). The accumulation of dry matter in the years of vegetation increased: the first year contained 20.08%; the second year – 26.95%; and the third year of vegetation – 29.71%. The content of ascorbic acid in the flowering phase in the second year of vegetation increased compared to the first year (8.21 mg/% and 5.87 mg (%). The amount of water-soluble antioxidants in the second year of the growing season has increased almost two times in comparison with the first year (to 22.7 mg/g and AAE 42.39 mg/g of AAE), in the third year there is a decrease in rate – 28.6 mg/g of AAE. Thus, the green of the mountain variety "Bobrik" is a source of biologically active substances, such as ascorbic acid and carotenoids, so the culture can be recommended for the use of young shoots and leaves in fresh and dry form, as a seasoning for salads, sauces, marinades, meat and fish dishes, as well as spicy and aromatic additives for the preparation of drinks.

Tm2a, I2, Ve. The article provides information on the study of the collection of F1 tomato hybrids (Solanum lycopersicumL.) of foreign breeding from various firms-originators recommended for cultivation in regions with a strong spread of tomato yellow leaf curl virus. All hybrids had a complex of economically valuable traits and a set of genes for resistance to the main diseases of tomato, including a new dangerous pathogen for the South of Russia with a maximum potential risk — the tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV). The studies were carried out in 2017-2018 in the Solanaceae Laboratory of LLC NIISOK and in the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory of Plants of LLC Semenovod. A total of 34 F1 tomato hybrids were tested. The hybrids were assessed by a set of economically valuable traits. Molecular genetic analysis was also carried out for the presence and allelic state of the main resistance genes: Tomato mosaic virus (Tm2a), Fusarium wilt (I2), Werticillium wilt (Ve), Cladosporium fulvum (Cf9), Nematodes (Mi1.2), Tomato spotted wilt virus (Sw5), Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (Ty3a). It was found that all the analyzed tomato hybrids with the declared by seed originators resistance to yellow leaf curl virus were heterozygous for the Ty3a gene. Based on the conducted research and taking into account the market requirements, models of F1 tomato hybrids for protected ground for the South of Russia have been developed. A promising tomato hybrid should have an indeterminate growth type with shortened internodes (4.5-5 cm) and good foliage. Tomato fruits should have a uniform red color without green shoulders, with a flat-round or round shape of the fruit and with an average weight of 220-270 g. To increase the transportability of tomatoes, it is necessary that the fruits are highly firm and characterized by good shelf life. The yield of tomato hybrid should be more than 30 kg/m2, and marketability should be at least 85%. The tomato hybrid should have the following set of resistance genes in a heterozygous state: Ty3a, Mi1.2, Cf-9, and also in a homozygous state: Tm2a, I2, Ve.

Research is needed to better understand the influence of cell volume and fertility on watermelon transplant size and field performance in order to determine the most economic production practices. `Jubilee' watermelon transplants were grown using a 4 x 4 factorial experimental design consisting of 4 cell volumes (30.7, 65.5, 147.5, and 349.6 cm3) and 4 fertility rates (0, 1/4, 1/2, and full-strength Hoagland's solution). Transplant shoot dry weight significantly increased as cell volume and fertility increased. Increasing cell volume linearly increased watermelon number/ha and tons/ha for early and total harvest in 1995. The average weight per watermelon significantly increased for early-harvested fruit but not for total harvest as cell volume increased in 1995. Soluble solids concentration linearly increased with increasing cell volume for early and total harvests in 1995. Cell volume had no significant influence on the harvest parameters measured in 1997. In 1995, increasing fertility linearly increased watermelon number/ha and tons/ha for early harvests. Increasing fertility increased the soluble solids concentration linearly for early-harvested watermelons in 1997 but not in 1995. Fertility rate had no significant influence on any of the other harvest parameters measured in 1995 and 1997. The growing conditions and disease pressure in 1997 reduced melons/ha, yield, and soluble solids content when compared to 1995 values. The half-strength Hoagland's solution produced the greatest number of watermelons/ha, tons/ha, and the highest soluble solids concentration in 1995 and 1997. Pretransplant nutritional conditioning had no significant effect on total `Jubilee' watermelon production in Louisiana for 1995 and 1997.

As a major component of biologically active compounds in the body, proteins contribute to the synthesis of body tissues for the renewal and growth of the body. The high level of dietary protein and the imbalance of amino acid (AA) composition in mammals result in metabolic disorders, inefficient utilization of protein resources and increased nitrogen excretion. Fortunately, nutritional interventions can be an effective way of attenuating the nitrogen excretion and increasing protein utilization, which include, but are not limited to, formulating the AA balance and protein-restricted diet supplementing with essential AAs, and adding probiotics in the diet. This review highlights recent advances in the turnover of dietary proteins and mammal’s metabolism for health, in order to improve protein bioavailability through nutritional approach.

This study was aimed at observing the effect of the grafting of tomato plants on morphological (vegetative growth), production and nutritive characteristics (quantity and quality of production). For this purpose, the ‘Lorely F1’ cultivar was used as a scion grafted onto the ‘Beaufort’ rootstock. Plants were cultivated with a stem and two stems. The observations collected in this study were concerned with the characteristics of plant growth. The studied morphological characteristics were plant height, stem diameter and number of leaves, and the studied production characteristics were the characteristics of fructification and productivity (the average number of fruit per plant, the average weight of the fruit, production per plant). Particular attention was paid to the nutritional characteristics of the fruit, to the fruit quality (total soluble solids, total sugar, acidity, vitamin C, antioxidant activity (by the Trolox method) and the contents of lycopene and beta-carotene). The results showed that grafting positively influenced the growth and production characteristics. Grafting of tomato plants had an appreciable effect on the vegetative growth of the variant 2-grafted tomatoes with a stem. The best option in terms of productivity and production was the variant 3-grafted tomatoes with two stems, which yielded 9.2 kg per plant. Fruit quality was not improved in any of the grafted variants.

The results of studying 32 variety samples and lines of grain sorghum are presented, as well as experimental data on the genotypes of vegetative and generative traits, and the biochemical composition of grain. When considering the elements of the structure of the grain sorghum crop, we proceeded from the understanding that the yield is directly dependent on the number of grains per 1 m2 and their mass of 1000 grains. Since the plant standing density was the same for all the studied samples, genotypes with a large mass of grains of 1 plant were noted (k-3568, k-3867, k-3900, k-3904, k-8926), which depends on the number of productive stems per plant and weight of 1000 grains. The following cultivars are characterized by the largest mass of 1000 grains: k-3568, k-3900, k-3904, k-3911, k-3962, k-3967, k-3970, k-8926. The average weight of grains from 1 panicle varied in the range from 14.1 to 22.7 g, and the biological grain yield was 3.69 ... 6.19 t / ha (with a grain moisture content of 13%). The output of gross energy for cattle is from 3.99 to 6.69 energetic feed unit. Energy assessment and feed value are determined by the biochemical composition of the grain. In the experiment, variety specimens with high protein content were revealed: k-3902, k-3946, k-3959, k-3970. More than 4.0% of fat was detected in the grain of the variety samples: k-3867, k-3911, k-3957, k-3967, k-3970, k-3973.

INTRODUCTION Olanzapine is a second generation antipsychotic (SGA) with a high level of therapeutic effectiveness in schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. Along with the positive therapeutic effects, an increase of the body weight frequently occurs. According to the literature, the average weight gain is about 6-7 kg during several months of treatment. This could be valued as a moderate weight increase. CASE OUTLINE This article presents a case of a young female with schizophrenia, without clinical improvement with several antipsychotics (clozapine, risperidone, haloperidol) and with the occurrence of significant neurological side effects. The treatment started with olanzapine (baseline) was associated with good initial response (PANSS reduction 20% in the first two weeks) and the improvement was maintained further on (PANSS reduction 50% after 16 weeks). Significant increase (20 kg, 40%) in weight appeared during the following 16 weeks (BMI at baseline 17.9 kg/m2; BMI 16 weeks later 25.1 kg/m2). CONCLUSION High effectiveness of olanzapine in schizophrenia symptoms reduction was accompanied by a significant weight gain. However, this drug leads to impaired glucoregulation, dyslipidaemia etc. It also increases the risk of diabetes and cardio-vascular diseases, i.e. the main causes of mortality in schizophrenia after a suicide. Therefore, clinicians are suggested to focus on possible predictors of weight gain during olanzapine therapy, and act accordingly in order to prevent serious health consequences.

Abstract Nowadays the study of the interrelation of the genotype of strawberry plants in garden and climatic conditions is extremely relevant. Due to the various systems of genetic control and the modifying effects of growing conditions on the manifestation of quantitative traits, there is the need to assess the genotypic variability of economically valuable features, focused on the identification of genotypes characterized by stability and adaptive qualities in growing conditions. The study examined 15 varieties of garden strawberries of domestic and foreign selection. The field experiments and surveys were carried out according to the Program generally accepted in the Russian Federation and methodology for the variety study of fruit, berry and nut crops. We studied such features as the number of peduncles (pcs/bush), number of berries (pcs/bush), average weight of berries (g), total and marketable yield (g/bush), sugar content in berries, soluble solids and ascorbic acid. The purpose of this work was to assess the genotype-year interrelation in terms of the variability of productivity features and berry quality and to identify strawberry varieties with a stable genotype. As a result of two-way analysis of variance for the variety-year interrelation, the obtained values were 1.10-8.50 at standard Fst. - 1.24. Statistically important differences had indicators of productivity of a bush between the first and second clusters (t = 5.89 at p <0.01), the first and third (t = 15.83 at p <0.01), the second and third clusters (t = 8.13 at p <0.01), as well as the average berry weight between the first and third, second and third clusters (t = 15.50 and 6.99 at p <0.01, respectively). Significant differences in the value of the Euclidean distance were revealed for varieties Mishutka (54.5), Daryonka (54.5), Pervoklassnitsa (58) realizing their productivity potential in different years of cultivation.
