The chapter examines the role of recycling and reuse of fashion in order to achieve environmental sustainability. The chapter supports its conclusion by various reports that recycling of textile waste can be solutions to many environmental issues caused by fast fashion. However, textile recycling is an old term; in recent years, it has gained attention again due to fast fashion culture in significant parts of the world, which has resulted in overconsumption of textiles and led to waste generation. Waste recycling has become a multibillion industry. New ways are being created in terms of the development of sorting machines, design inputs, and innovative high-value products to make recycling a profitable proposition. The chapter also highlights how the second-hand market of clothes and the internet as a facilitator can help in reducing textile waste.

Economic choices influenced by animalistic instincts in an ethically neutral framework have not only resulted in huge disparities in distribution of income, wealth and standards of living, but, as we now realise, they have also resulted in an unprecedented loss to ecology and environment with catastrophic consequences for future generations. More than ever, economics as a discipline of knowledge needs an ethical base in order to rekindle a spiritual rationality that can enable us to take into account equity considerations more explicitly in economic choices, both at the individual and at the societal level. This paper explains how Islamic economics can help in bridging the gap. The paper explains the teachings of Islam on different environmental issues and shows how the Islamic worldview can help to encourage and reinforce environmentally friendly behaviour and choices.

Thisresearch is to analyze and reduce the emission of carbon footprint around campus in order to build a sustainable campus for future generations. One of the most profound issue faced by the world today is the rise of temperature which is also known as global warming. The emission of GHGs has been an alarming issue in our world today which causes not only the rise of temperature but also disastrous natural disasters such as flood, hurricane, drought and many more. Like other developing countries, Malaysia have given its full support and cooperation in its attempt to achieve a sustainable development. In Malaysia, there are several policies and legislation developed to encourage sustainability in four major areas which are water and waste management, transportation, energy and building. The importance of higher education institutions such as universities should address the diverse needs of local societies and promote sustainability. Universities should also consider including sustainability into student’s education and program to promote the environmental issues which have been one of the highest concerns around the world. Therefore, the focus of this research is to analyze and reduce the carbon footprint for a sustainable campus. Hence, the aim of this research is to analyze the emission of carbon footprint throughout the campus such as traveling to class and to suggest alternatives that the student or staff can take in order to reduce the emission of carbon footprint around campus and to build a sustainable campus.

This research is a library research, with the title Cultivating Environmentally Concerned Characters through Teaching Ecological Jurisprudence in Early Childhood. This research uses library materials as the main data source, and the main references in this research are ecological and Islamic books, character education and books on early childhood. The purpose of this study is combining two materials at once, namely environmental fiqh material and its role in shaping the character of early childhood. The results showed. First, environmental damage or the current ecological crisis is not actually due to ecological succession factors. However, the damage occurred precisely because of an anthropogenic disaster by human activities. Second, in environmental fiqh it contains material that is very important to study, namely maqoshidu shari'ah, especially hifdzu al-bi'ah. Thirdly, environmental care character is very urgent, especially given to early childhood, and for now studying this section is an obligation.

Infographic is the transformation of information, sources and data in graphic format, to make them clear and easily understandable. In these graphics, sophisticated topics and maps are designed in a simple and explanatory way by means of stories. Infographics are seen in media and published works either in a scientific or simple level. In order for the world resources to fulfill not only today’s but also future generations’ needs, the basis for a sustainable life should be provided today. Organizations like Greenpeace run campaigns in accordance with the principals of protecting bio-diversity, in order for the contribution of raising awareness in society for future. These organizations often use infographics in their campaigns. Infographics contain a lot of research-focused information by quoting several sources. By the help of these researches and design, infographics form an effective way to transmit topics like “environmental issues and what to do about them”, to the target population.Based on the above explanations, how infographics deal with the issues like “nuclear hazard, the decline of biologic diversity and environmental pollution” is analyzed in this article. Furthermore, how people reach infographic design is described, and campaigns of environmentalist organizations were examined. As a result it is concluded that, in terms of the mentioned environmental issues, infographics are beneficial tools to raise awareness and to effectively transmit them to people, particularly in social media and other similar channels. Keywords: Infographics, environment, graphic design

With the rapid increase in production of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and environmental issues arising around the world, cathode materials, as the key component of all LIBs, especially need to be environmentally sustainable. However, a variety of life cycle assessment (LCA) methods increase the difficulty of environmental sustainability assessment. Three authoritative LCAs, IMPACT 2002+, Eco-indicator 99(EI-99), and ReCiPe, are used to assess three traditional marketization cathode materials, compared with a new cathode model, FeF3(H2O)3/C. They all show that four cathode models are ranked by a descending sequence of environmental sustainable potential: FeF3(H2O)3/C, LiFe0.98Mn0.02PO4/C, LiFePO4/C, and LiCoO2/C in total values. Human health is a common issue regarding these four cathode materials. Lithium is the main contributor to the environmental impact of the latter three cathode materials. At the midpoint level in different LCAs, the toxicity and land issues for LiCoO2/C, the non-renewable resource consumption for LiFePO4/C, the metal resource consumption for LiFe0.98Mn0.02PO4/C, and the mineral refinement for FeF3(H2O)3/C show relatively low environmental sustainability. Three LCAs have little influence on total endpoint and element contribution values. However, at the midpoint level, the indicator with the lowest environmental sustainability for the same cathode materials is different in different methodologies.
